No way it’s real. This tries to fix an issue that doesn’t exist, and probably adds to the cost while impacting longevity. Playing with a single joycon is meant for casual gaming anyways, if they wanted to improve on that I think adding a little C-stick like that on the 3DS is a better option.
Yea wtf do I have to move my joycons for I rather them change the shape of them I like how the PlayStation portal controls look because I’d feel like I’m grabbing on to the control’s handles instead of holding on to the back of the switch

Why a C stick when it already has a right analog stick? The point of the c-stick on the N3DS was to give it a 2nd joystick on the right within the same form factor. @@NinjaXM0

I think they'd be stupid not to double down on what they've built with the original Switch. I think it'll be all one eShop with some games either only working on Switch 2, or compatible with both but with better performance and/or visuals on the 2.0 version. The Switch library is already massive. This would make the leap of buying the new Switch painless for users (you'd probably see more people selling their last gen consoles and upgrading from there than usual, as opposed to keeping the old console so the games on it aren't lost, is my guess), and as long as the Switch 2 has a great 1st and 3rd party lineup and enough improvements to the console itself, the incentive to upgrade from the original Switch will be there.

The only way they'd do that is if the next system uses disks. In the history of the company, the only time they got rid of backwards compatibility, was when they changed the data medium for the software. If the new Switch has cartridges, it will likely accept the old Switch cartridges as well, just like the 3DS did with the DS cartridges!

I think it looks decent. A lot of people hated on the original switch design and said it looked ugly as well, similar with the PS5. I think it's just because people aren't used to it yet

I don't like the model of this "Nintendo Switch 2".
It's a concept. Most of what Yanko Design posts are concepts and inventor renders, hardly anything they show is out in the market.
Same, sliding joycons sound cool until you realize they will go loose after a while

Its hideous, the fact the screen and the joycons are rounded so they dont sit flush is awfull, and thar large gap below the screen. Its not to my liking and very Un-Nintendo by design

It's not even real.
I see it as just trying to improve upon the lack of ergonomics in the OG Switch. This mockup looks like it's shifted a few notches closer to ergonomic as opposed to portability/slimness and aesthetic appeal. I would be shocked if they ever used a design like this, but the spirit in which it was intended might be present in their new console, just done better.
The only thing I’m praying is just that the joy cons don’t drift after a while

1080p max, it's rumored to be as powerful as a PS4 (MAYBE a PS4 Pro, but unlikely), and the PS4 isn't powerful enough to run games in 4k!

@kyshro Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I just heard about a pretty promising rumor about switch 2, possibly having 4k... Supposedly, they'll be able to accomplish it by using DLSS (which sounds possible for sure). So yeah, it sounds like you'll be right!

You don't need 4k on that size, 1080p would be nice though. Currently it's 720p and the pixels are definitely noticeable. I think 1080p would be perfect.

The only really notable difference between PS4 and PS5 is the SSD and rumors indicate UFS3 speeds for Switch 2 so we are good on that front

Manufacturers need to stop thinking speakers on the bottom are a good idea. Preferably I kinda think it would be neat if the joycons had speakers that could output game audio.
Who that would be cool. And I'm not sure why that think firing the sound into your pants is a good idea it always sounds bad. The switch OLED actually does a great job of firing it forward and being just at the screen bezel.
At first, I thought it looked really goofy. But looking at it more, It honestly looks really good! This may not be real, but it still looks good!

No way. It's too bulky, you can barely even call that a handheld device. The screen is the size of an iPad imagine the stress it would have on the joycons. I miss the days when portable gaming is actually portable.

That weird slideable space in the joycons doesn’t seem like a Nintendo thing. If Japan loves the iPhone, then I can see the next switch having thin bezels all the way around.
Hope they make it to where the dock is a power station almost and gives a boost to the switch to allow a smoother and better look. Hopefully the switch 2 second screen goodnight
The current Switch is already more powerful in docked mode.

But once u insert the switch into the new system it will unlock the backwards compatibility features so u can play every game and use the joycons for the Wii games , and when u remove the switch you can add an attachment to play DS games .

@@hued2542 it’s gonna have to go back to being a disc home console and bring in stupid ssd. But I’m saying this. Imagine like an Xbox system or something. And you insert your switch into it and you can play every single switch game but with more power now . 60 frames. But the console can also play Wii games , GameCube games n64 games and it’s own that come out . However instead of just leaving the switch alone for good they can add a second screen attachment and it allows you to play ds games and the rest . So In Zelda when u insert the slate it starts to work the mechanism. Well we can put the switch down or something like that into the system and it can turn our switch into a beast mode
@@Mindartcreativity They mean the dock itself providing a power boost as in has hardware in it. The current Switch doesn't have that. The Switch itself simply brings its power up from a more under clocked state since it's essentially connected to a power outlet now so it doesn't have to worry about draining battery very fast.

So glad I’m not the only one that thought this looked dumb. I don’t mind cool fake renders from artists, but they so often are so completely ridiculous that it makes me less enthused, and this one in particular got way too much traction, it really doesn’t look anything like a Nintendo product
Switch 2 will have a foldable screen like a Galaxy cell phone and you can play it folded or fold out for big screen ❤

there is a 100% chance the next Nintendo console will not look like this at all. there's literally a higher chance of it not even being a switch successor.
Imagine if the switch 2 was kinda like a DS. Think of those laptops that have a screen that can swivel around to be like a tablet. So its just a switch that opens up and the top screen swivels around and there another screen on the bottom. Its very hard to explain in text but i hope you get what i mean.

Seems a bit too "I'm a graphic designer." There's a lot it doesn't consider, such as dust getting caught under the slider. I also dont think they'd refrence the Mario Theme on hardware, unless there was a reason to do so. If they want to refrence mario, the nod would software related, not a hardware one for the sake of graphic design.

As a designer if thats the final product, that would just be a bad product. The joint between controller and monitor is too fragile, this is a console for all ages ffs. And that gap I assume you can change the button by sliding it but its not even comfy when gripped and home for germs
It won’t look like that because it’ll fail, the Wii U failed simply for being named Wii U; it took some time for people to realize it wasn’t a add-on to the Wii. But based on Nintendo’s history of failing astronomically before breaking all time records, I wouldn’t be surprised if their next system fails.

Nintendo won't repeat their mistakes twice. In 2012, they name their console WiiU and many people thought it was just better Wii. Here's the same and even more stupid. If they'll name it Switch 2, a lot of people will think it's like a new revision of Switch.
Honestly I'm not entirely sure Nintendo's gonna do a Switch 2. Generally their sequel consoles have sold worse than their predecessor, particularly the Wii U, with the GBA being the closest they've gotten to having a sequel sell better than it's predecessor (To be honest with the GBA selling 2/3 as many units as the GB/GBC I imagine it had more units sold per year)

I just now finally got a Switch! I'm a "Console behind" kinda guy....lol I'm gonna focus on building up my Switch one accessories/collection. The OLED is still a great console.

I get that you find this design interesting, but the viability of it is impractical and was debunked months ago. Those joy-con designs actually look more breakable than the current ones available. The UI set up is actually slower than the current Switch, especially the supposed transition from handheld to docked which adds time to the game displaying on a television or monitor when it is near instant currently. It doesn't actually improve upon anything from the current Switch that would actually enhance the gaming experience. It looks interesting at a glance, but when you think about it, it's actually a worse design than what is already out.
