Alex’s video popped up first which was informative, but yours was so practical and the smoothie overflow was the stuff of life that we can all relate to and giggle along with you. The fireplace looks phenomenal as I watched you renovate and clean the glass so your dark sweater contrasted so nicely as you talked about your four legged and feather family. It is meaningful to take care of what God places in your life (and He certainly surprised you with some cuties). The one thing about our closest pets is to understand them enough to know when it is time to make the decision for them based on their quality of life and not having a concept of time. Thus, choosing while they are still themselves, but in a weakened state so that, when you are saying goodbye they KNOW you are letting them know how much happiness, joy and yes absurdity/bonkers their personalities added to the zest of life (going along with today’s smoothie recipe;) Loved your post and adore watching the two of you grab life with a gusto! Looking forward to your trip!

Aww sweet Diego.. my heart goes out to Frida. Thank you for the honest talk. It made me emotional and gave me comfort as I am currently caring for my mom who has cancer. As you said, sometimes we don't have all the answers.. Life is short and the moments are precious. ❤ Looking back on the story of Frida and Diego and Waddles is so beautiful! Thank you for sharing the slice of nature that you are in here with us. ✨️

I actually put my smoothies in my Stanley cup! I make my own kefir, and then make kefir protein smoothies out of it. My current favorite has about 1.5 cups of kefir, frozen blueberries and strawberries, frozen mango, and a scoop of Clean Simple Eats peaches and cream protein powder. I make a full 40 oz worth, and it goes in the Stanley cup and stays perfectly fresh and cold for 6 hours, which is amazing. And it has all the macros. I can sip it over the course of the 6 hours and get nutrition when normally I wouldn’t have time to eat or prepare something healthy.

Hi Carrie, I am so saddened to hear about Diego. I hope he will come back home. I enjoy seeing all the different kinds of wildlife that live around your homestead. You and Alex take such wonderful care of the animals and your home. I am sending you all love and peace. ❤

You are my new favorite youtuber. I grew up on a small farm with chickens only but in a village where I was surrounded my nature. Now, in my 30s, I miss it so much and I feel so drawn to a simple, calm, nature lifestyle. I do live in a village and I'm blessed being surrounded by animals but I have a desire to have my own little farm and my garden just like I grew up as a kid. Unfortunately my parents passed away young, when I was 20 and I sold the farm. It was dying, and all the memories I had there were just too painful. I also want to move to a warm country to hopefully fullfill my small farm dream

I really enjoyed your content today Carrie and also resonated with your story on life/death, especially of our beloved furry friends. I lost my dear cat buddy of 15+ years during the cyclone. She had dementia and she just never came home. Despite enquiries and searching she was nowhere to be found. Its the not knowing that is particularly hard.... On the brighter side of life enjoy your trip to Thailand ... exciting!!

Your words about how we can learn so many beautiful lessons from nature couldn’t have come at a better time. My 10 year old dog recently had a mammary tumor removed. Been trying to accept the possibilities of what may come next & it’s been tough. Hoping you get through whatever feelings you have with losing sweet Diego. We will get through this. 🥺🤎

For a little boost of hope, American pekin ducks often partner for a season! It’s called “seasonal monogamy” so if you had only seen them for one season, that may be what happened!

I have a 15 yr old dachshund and I think about him coming to the end of his natural life a lot lately. He can’t see well or hear well. It’ll destroy me when he crosses the rainbow 🌈 bridge…Prayers for Diego & Frida..

Hi Carrie, we have so much in common! I'm a Canadian ex-pat(NZ born) living in Australia. I love Tajin too but thankfully we can get it here now. When we first moved here 11 years ago the Mexican food was seriously lacking but it's much better now! Too bad you aren't coming to the Gold Coast this time, definitely worth a visit in the future. Have a great time on your trip. Sorry about Diego. Fiona

My husband and I went to Thailand last year and had so much fun. We went to Bangkok first , then Chiang Mai and Phuket last and it was perfect this way . We loved Chiang Mai out of the 3 but each place was a different experience and phuket we just relaxed and island hoped only one day. We had such a fun time and great experience. I hope you all have a blast ❤

It’s sad to hear what might have happened to Diego. 🥺💔 I hope he is safe and sound but if not I deeply hope he passed away peacefuly.
I believe, even if they die before us we’ll still and always love, remember, and cherish our memories together, no matter what. I wouldn’t change the chance to love them in dread that I would Iose them at some point. 💚

So excited for you both on your next big adventure! As someone who lived in Sydney for 25 years, I recommend checking out some of the other beaches besides Bondi (it’s extremely crowded and there are plenty of other options). Other beautiful, less populated beaches include Maroubra, Shelly, Palm and Bronte beaches. Happy travels 🧳

But I'm off to NZ for a month in July and cannot wait! 😊😊

I lived in Brisbane Australia for 30 years and not once did I go to Sydney haha.... but if you ever head to Queensland, go the far north (Cairns, Kuranda, Paronella Park, Ingham, those kinds of places) ... its stunning (and hot)
