VMware has introduced two new product offerings: VMware Cloud Foundation and VMware vSphere Foundation.
These are bundles of various VMware technologies combined into single solutions. Cloud Foundation is a comprehensive product suited for larger VMware environments, offering more value and exclusive products like HCX Enterprise and Data Services Manager.
vSphere Foundation is a simplified solution. Organizations may benefit from using both products depending on their needs.
When transitioning to a subscription model, organizations must decide whether to swap existing perpetual licenses for credits or keep them. However, mixing perpetual and subscription licenses in the same environment can lead to compliance issues and operational complexities.
