Codep Windsong Ceiling Fan | 1080p HD Remake

Codep Windsong 52" ceiling fan in antique brass. Not much to report on this one since the last video, I don't think it's been up since. Only major thing is something you can't see; I modified a random ball/socket bracket specifically for it back when it went into storage here in the new basement, since original hardware was missing and only certain generic brackets will work with the canopy shape. These are still the replacement Hunter blade arms, I haven't found anything spare that would suit. If you don't recall, one of the original arms broke while I was balancing it for the last video I made of it. It seems like a lot of these import brands had particularly weak pot metal castings produced near the end of their runs well into the 80s. They're known to be brittle in the first place, but I've had a couple later fans now where they've just snapped with very little maneuvering, and if you hit a blade while the fan is running, it's pretty much over. This one is a pretty good runner, smooth bearings as you can see by the spindown. Just about every other later Codep fan I've turned up has had absolute gravel bearings, which is why a number of units I've had in the past never got videos made, but this particular motor seems to be an exception because I think my Regency has the same one. Air movement is on the higher side of average. Really, though, it's the canopy that I like about this one. If it were generic ball/socket I probably would've sold or otherwise gotten rid of it long ago. Pretty generic GE vent fan with few interesting details, but it's got enough character to hold a place around here, still.
