    How did tabret come to exist did they use it in the bible days? I found it awesome Bible Dictionaries - Easton's Bible Dictionary - Tabret. Tabret [N] [S] (Heb. toph), a timbrel (q.v.) or tambourine, generally played by women ( Genesis 31:27 ; 1 Samuel 10:5 ; 18:6 ).

    • @ProclaimingYeshua
      @ProclaimingYeshua  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the tabret is similar to the timbrel in the dance. Like a tambourine, but instead of bells, it has been used with cloth, animal skins (like a drum in the middle to tap on), or modern day, with Mylar streamers attached. It can be waved similar to a flag or banner, as well as used to beat on like a drum.

    God bless you , where do you order your milar and how do you I get a smaller size

    • @ProclaimingYeshua
      @ProclaimingYeshua  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Joann Hernandez you can order the tinsel/Mylar at Glorious Creations’ website:
      gloriouscreations.net/index.php/product-category/fabrics-tinsel-appliques/metallic-mylar-tinsel-fringe-metallic-fringe/
      To make it shorter, for a children’s size tabret, I place a strand of tape across the middle of the Mylar about halfway down then cut the Mylar in half, the tape helps keep them together while cutting then I fold the tape over to keep the Mylar together and stuff it into the circle hoop before I decorate it. I hope this helps!! We would love to see your pictures here or on our Facebook page!

      We made some about 4 years ago, with ladies in our congregation who have never made them before, and use them weekly. Minor improvements, such as re-glueing the occasional loose or fringy end is about all we have had to do, and they are in great condition :)

    I love this video. Do you know what kind of items to create these would have been used historically?

    • @ProclaimingYeshua
      @ProclaimingYeshua  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Arielle Short thank you! Possibly wood, animal skins, leather , bells etc. similar to the timbrel or tambourine.

      We have usually purchased many beautiful pre-cut colors of mylar from a great website called Glorious Creations. (See the Link Below or you can also manually go to their website RevivalWorship.com, click on "Shopping" at the top of the page, then on "Metallic Streamers, Tinsel, Mylar" on the left hand side of the page. You can easily view and order from there! We usually use at least 2 streamer packs for 1 Tabret!)
      revivalworship.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=24&zenid=e3d3caee91102d1b2dd9b9e967f8a8ab
      If you are not able to order online, another option would be to look at party stores for streamers, tinsel, or mylar. Sometimes in the gift wrapping section for baskets you could also find the tinsel/mylar. It is a little more of a challenge to do it this way because you have to cut to size lots of loose strings of the ribbon, then tape them at the top to keep them together, but it is totally doable for a fun project!
      Another idea would be to use different types of decorative ribbons and bows, which I have seen and they make lovely Tabrets! Have fun being creative and making it your own!! Please let us know if you have any other questions, and thank you for watching!!

    How long are the Mylar streamers for children and how long for adults? Party tablecloth fringes are almost the same and are up to 9' long.

    what better to use the wood hoop or the plastic hoop?

    • @ProclaimingYeshua
      @ProclaimingYeshua  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I like the wood, but you can use either. The plastic is smoother in your hand, but you can use fabric or decor on either of them easily.

      Yes! I have seen people use thick ribbons, curling ribbons, bells, any type of streamer. The beauty of it is you can make them as ornate or as simple as you would like.
