Conrado, there are some discrepancy between your comments and the diagram itself. Would you please explain which connection is correct? On the diagram Teensy board pins PB03, PB4 and some others as well are connected to DB15 no13 & no10 pins respectively, but on your hand drawing in video we have PB3 to no14 and PB4 to no11. So, which one is correct?? Enlight us. Thank you I apologize, my fault, all is correct. I was mistaken by the number placement on this diagram. :/

You are a hero!
I played Star Wars Episode 1 Racer with this Joystick until my hand hurt, because the force feedback of this monster was SO STRONG! Even had to losen my grip to disable feedback (IR-sensor in the handle) sometimes. Even NFS was so much fun with it!
I was shocked when Microsoft decided to kill the game port with Windows 7 and my beloved Joystick became obsolete. It still has to be at my parents house somewhere and I'd definitely like to try out your solution!
Can you say anything about the input delay? And does the IR-sensor still work?
I re-bought Star Wars Episode 1 Racer years ago because you can't install the original (installer is a 16bit programm that doesn't run on a newer OS). Was always disapponted about playing this game with an xbox controller and right now i'm kind of hyped playing it again!
again! just came here to say thanks!
I made a converter and it worked! BTW what game where you testing with?
BTW by this example is possible to create a converter to a PS3 right? I dont mean even to get FFB just the joy control...
Joy oh Joy, oh Frabjous day! Thank you Conrado, the contraption is working fine and my lovely old joystick looks to be back on line.
IDIOT BEGINNER'S MISTAKE: You need to solder *all* the pins on the Teensy or the joystick won't work. Because I'm bad at soldering, I only did every other one, and nothing happened. On Win 10 the joystick comes up in Settings>Bluetooth and other devices; in Device Manager it's HID compliant game controller. Enjoy!
I have one question, do you think this adaptation will work on Linux as well? I am planning in buying the joystick to play with on X-Plane 12 and MSFS 2020 with proton. Thank you once more!
Hi Conrado, as I am not the electronics specialist I would be interested to buy such an adapter, as I have the same joystick. Would it be possible that you sell one adapter? Cheers, Mitch
GREAT!!!! I am so happy that I kept my good old Sidewinder Force Feedback pro.... Now with my MS Flight Simulator 2020 I would like to know if there is a way to buy a kit, or a built adapter. I'll appreciate it VERY much if so.
There is a shortage in the Joystick market since 2020 was launched.... Help please - hate using the keyboard....

You just earned a new subscriber, That was genius! please Conrad tell me if this can work with Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback Wheel? I have been searching internet since 2012 for a solution to make it work on USB but with no luck, please just tell me what to do and i will do it.
Hello Ahmed! Thank you! Unfortunately this will only work with the force feedback pro joystick. As you can see here the project for the wheel was started by another developer but abandoned. github.com/tloimu/adapt-ffb-joy/blob/wiki/Project.md
I have never used the Wheel, but from the requests I guess it must be a very good product.
The Teensy 2.0 is discontinued.... I tried using a Chinese one and it doesn't work...
Enlight us. Thank you
I apologize, my fault, all is correct. I was mistaken by the number placement on this diagram. :/
Muito bom! Vou testar aqui pra ver se funciona.

fantastic! parabens e obrigado Conrado, vou construir um...!!!
Gracias. Thank you very much for the contribution, it is not easy to build for anyone, but I would like to try. There are some videos on the internet but they are not anywhere near as good as this one. I would like my son to use the joystick, I hope to make it work. Thank you.
Gracias Tony! I used it for 6 months on the breadboard before building the soldered version. On my first build I inverted some wires and the force feedback wasn't working properly. You just have to be paying attention to the pins and everything will work fine. I hope it works for you! Also nice guitar playing there, I'm also a fan of Frank Zappa :) Saludos desde Brasil!

Great solution and I'm also the one who want to play FS2020 .... may with my old hardware...I found my Sidewinder FFB pro but not sure if it's still working. I do not have any PC anymore with Gameport. Before I waist my time: When I plug in Power the fan is not working and no LED. Is that normal when not plugin into the gameport???
Hi Conrado, thank you for sharing your video. I managed to get hold of a teensy. I followed your video and managed to get my MS FFB Pro working on a breadboard. I have tried soldering and every attempt I get the teensy's LED constantly flashing and sadly the FFB is not detected. I checked the soldering and tested with a multimeter and it looks alright. Could you please advise what am I doing wrong? Is it a case of bad soldering? I look forward to hearing from you.
Hello Feras, the FFB was working while the teensy was in the breadboard? Try double checking all the wires. When I first tried I had the same problem, later I discovered I had one wire soldered to the wrong pin.
@@conradovergueiro Hey Conrado, thank you for your prompt reply. I will do that.
I think it’s because you used the wrong resistors. Check the resistors values. 2.2k and the 220 resistor. Let me know,

Will this work with other Teensy board like 3.2 and newer?
Or strictly work on 2.0 board.

Started by another developer, but not completed and seemingly abandoned since.
Thank you! This one only works for the joystick. Unfortunately, like joshman said here bellow the project for the wheel was abandoned. It would be great to seesomeone try tho.
The schematic shows 4 potentiometers labelled Rx, Ry, Rp1 and Rp2. You didn’t use those in your circuit and there was no mention about them either. Do they really need to be in there? If not, then what connections need to be made to pins PF0, PF1, PF4 and PF5? Thank you
Will this work even under Win10 and old but refurbished games from GoG like Descent Freespace 1 and 2, x-Wing Alliance and etc.?
Thanks very much for your video! If one already has the original usb adapter from the later versions of the sidewinder presision pro, would that also work? Also do you know if there are any specific advantages of getting a force feedback 2 over the FFB pro with the usb adaptor? Thanks!
The big disadvantage of the force feedback 2 is the price. It goes for ~ 200$, while the force feedback 1 goes from anywhere between 20 and 80$.
It works for me on Windows 10, thanks a lot for reviving this wonderful joystick ! What about the sidewinder FFB wheel, I tried but it is not recognized, is there another solution ? Thanks
Edit : Ok, saw in posts below that there was another project for the wheel but it seems abandoned, too bad.

@@conradovergueiro cara valeu o retorno!
