16 mile Smith Creek Adventure

This video is a mash-up of an awesome trip my father and I made a couple weeks back. We have been talking about this and wanting to do this paddle for years. Every time I would drive over the bypass in my beautiful hometown of Wilmington, NC I would think; "Man, thats got to be cool down there! I would love to kayak and fish it!"
Well, after some planning and an early start, we finally slipped the yaks into the water at 6:30am. Fortunately our tides were with us almost the entire time, or the trip may not have been do-able in these yaks... The entire trip took us from the Kerr Ave. drop in all the way to the Cape Fear River and back! Almost 16 miles round trip! A little over 6 hours to complete. So, while this is a rather long video, I have managed to take 6 hours of video footage and compile the best 20+ minutes to show the trip in as much detail as possible without being boring to watch. This video really is to show others who may be thinking about doing this trip what to expect.
