if you are only going to use regular nail polish on the gel x nails, you should try putting 1-2 layers of the gel x extend gel on top of the gel x nail tip to strengthen the nail. because without it the nail tip will either dull out and lose its shape, or it may break.

You would put a layer of extend gel before the regular polish if you wanted to build the nail up thicker

Beautiful! They look so classy! Could you have put a gel topcoat over the Opi polish and cured it for a more long lasting finish?
Thank you! But no, gel polish cannot go over regular nail polish because it’ll never dry. The regular polish cannot be cured by uv light so it will remain wet under the gel and form bubbles.
@@tierrashavonn ok! But if you let the regular polish dry like you regularly would and after it’s dry you put a gel top coat and cure it… does it still not work? Sorry … total noob here! 😀
That’s a good question. Sounds like it would work but still not advisable. It takes roughly 24 hours for the solvents in regular nail polish to fully dry. I could only imagine this method being a hit or miss but definitely something to test out of curiosity.

Beautiful set. How do you get regular polish to dry without smudging it
Thank you💕 there is a fast drying spray you can buy that will help them dry quicker (DeMert Nail Enamel Dryer) and then you would want to place in front of a fan for best results. For me, I had the time so I just sat there and relaxed.

after buffing and you’re going to use a gel polish do you still add primer after buffing?
I’ve seen people use alcohol wipes or they dust it off.
You can dust off debris, use alcohol or rinse your hands (no soap) this is all preference. You don’t need to prime on the false nails just use the gel base coat, gel polish, gel top coat.
Do you need an extra pair of hands to hold the light to cure the nails?
With this little gold light it’s best to prop it up on something or if someone is with you have them hold it while you cure each nail. I’m going to link an alternative light that’s more of a standing post for you. This gold light came with the kit from après.
