I think a big part of this is women evaluate for status first and in the current American culture this has been boiled down to money. I think a big part of this is women evaluate for status first and in the current American culture this has been boiled down to money. In my experience though, men can compensate for a lack of money by being charming and having a lot of friends. I've seen a lot of funny broke guys with pretty girls. The problem is with online dating and dating strangers in general, it's hard to communicate social status like that.
