I've been enjoying your videos. A couple of observations that should improve your range. The antennas you are using are not the best. Going to a low cost aftermarket antenna could improve your range. I've tested the type of antennas you are using (the stock type antennas that come with the nodes) and found, especially when bent at 90 degrees, they have less than ideal SWR. The aftermarket antennas offer more gain and allow more power to be radiated due to having a much better SWR. The other thing I would change would be to put the radio in the truck on the dashboard. It would allow more signal to be radiated out of the vehicle. Also, having the antenna on the radio on the pole at 90 degrees vs. the 45 degree angle the antenna was at could offer a little better signal also. Thank you for getting out in the wild and showing what these radios can do. Having a good antenna is one of the most important things as to range, secondary only to height of the antenna. I'm looking forward to future videos...73
Thank you! I have picked up some better antennas. Now I just need to do some more testing. Thanks for watching.
Great demonstration. Keep it up
Thank you!
Interesting devices... Have fun playing with them! 73 Happy New Year!
Thanks, Jeff! Happy New Year, my friends!
Interesting results! Happy New Year Shane!
Thank you, Swamp Fox! Happy New Year, buddy!
Good job Shaun happy new year brother
Thanks, Andy! Happy new year, my brother.
Meshastic is very cool. I bought a couple of Station G1 nodes to play with. Hoping the 35dBm output pans out with more range.
I never heard of Station G1, I'll have to give them a look. Thanks for watching, Jody!
Yooo, shout out to the GIGADUDE 25! I love mine! Thanks for the Video, just ordered my tbeam!
The Gigadude 25 is awesome! Nice to see other hams looking into Meshtastic and LoRa. Thanks for watching!
@@Scout75PortableRadio dude, talk about a rabbit hole! I already have 3 lilygo products in route and 2 nodes running from heltec inside of 48 hours...hi, my name is brandon, i have a problem...
Good results, thank you. Curious how you attached the t beam to the mast
Thanks for watching! I just used a piece of cord and a carabiner. I’ll show more details in a future video.
Good stuff, Shane! Loving the information! 73 de KJ7LLX
Thanks, Rodger! This Meshtastic thing is pretty interesting stuff to me.
Also loving the meshtastic content! Cheers! KG4ELP
