Really wonderful interview! Matteo is so charming and likable, and he has such a great attitude about his career. It's so refreshing to hear an athlete speak with such a healthy perspective and measured expectations on their progress. It's interesting to hear that he comes from a family of ice dancers - it really helps explain why his skating skills are better than a lot of other men competing right now! I became such a huge fan of his skating last year and am so happy to see his progress since then. Once he gets that quad loop down, it will be divine!!! There's something really special about him. Really hope he wins (or at least medals) at Europeans this year, he has a very very bright future ahead! (I'm also very happy to hear he intends to compete until the Torino Olympics in 2026, as a fan it's a gift knowing I'll be able to enjoy his skating for so many more years.) Thanks for the video

Matteo is delightful! I learned so much from this interview. You asked such great questions. I had no idea his parents were both ice dancers. It explains a lot. It was also really interesting to hear his process for training.
The European men's competition has suddenly become interesting again - or should I say competitive again - with Matteo Rizzo or Kevin Aymoz in with a shot against the Russians, who are usually wildly unpredictable. At this point, I'd be happy with either Rizzo or Aymoz winning as well as Dmitri Aliev (so, of course, they will probably all lose to Samarin!).
I really enjoyed this interview, he is a great skater, athlete, and ambassador of the sport. NBC would be smart to add you as a content creator for Sports Gold and the Olympic Channel.
