Same here^^ It's a shame I didn't find this LP earlier. I played this game so much when it came out and it took me ages to complete it (was 7 years old back then). Eventually I stopped with 110-ish cards and 99 cards on hard. Looking forward to watching this run.
This is my personal favorite when it comes to the Nintendo 64, or the Bomberman series altogether. The multiplayer featured in this game features 3-d movement not restricted by a grid of panels like most Bomberman games, and it proves to be much funner.
This game and it's bomb stacking, its secret areas.. the awesome MP battles. I'm surprised it's not mentioned along side games like GoldenEye because I hold it up there. Was lucky to have this game in my childhood. edit: omfg is that Bonzi buddy doing the voice over for the cut scenes hahahaha
just found thsi channel thanx to this lets play this game was one of my faves from my childhood will rpbaly start it up on my 64 some day soon, the only other n64 games i spent more time with was mk64, mario 64, snowboard kids, diddyking racing dk64 and oot + majoras mask so to me the n64 is stil to this day the best console ever made since there are to many good games to list here that i played tons of
had to be at least 13/14 years ago when I was playing this... I never understood this level was so complex. I would see the floating staircases and the warp pads and have no idea what they were or how to reach them. this video just solved a decade old mystery to me.
Watching all of this gold card stuff is blowing my mind. I played the story mode all of the time as a kid and never could figure out what to do. I mostly played the multiplayer with friends instead.
Awsome Video, I had bomberman and mario but my hero as a kid game wise was MegamanX was first and most in depth of my childhood. Got them all now. Bomb Bridge can give you head ache in this game haha fun times as a kid.
I download an Nintendo 64 emulator and I can run games with cheats except I turned off the music in some of Nintendo 64 games including Bomberman 64 The Second Attack and Starshot, Kevin Lowe.
Definitely interesting that Bomberman was your childhood hero. I remember having a blast (PUNS! YES!) with this game as a kid over at my buddy's house. I remember raging hard trying to kill the bosses, though. Something about the control mechanics didn't click with young me for some reason.
I actually found all of the Gold Cards myself as a kid, but there were like 2 I could not find in the first and third Green Garden Stage for the longest time. I eventually found one, and the other, it took me a while to remember that it was the Enemy Gold Card. That was embarrassing.
I never owned this game, but I sure rented it a shit load. Weirdly enough, it's basically the only Bomberman game I've ever played. Also, congrats on your first fail montage :D Keep it up!
I mean I was going to stay tuned no matter what! But I especially will since my 7 year old brain had trouble fully comprehending the later levels back then. I remember failing hard on the ice world.
I loved this game to death back in the day XD. I still have it too and I started get back into it because I never did get the true ending so I I found your videos while looking for guides. BTW how did you record your gameplay? Where you playing it on N64 or PC?
Question im trying to make the bomb bridge dealio and my guy will only drop 4 bombs.... you had 6 idk what the hell is going on?? I got the specials and he only drops 4... ?
The controls have a learning curve to them, but I've been playing this game since as long as I can remember, and even then I fail from time to time (as displayed in this video and pretty much every other part of this LP thus far).
also to add for the hearts on hard mode you don't drop them so you can pick them up again they are gone for good until you kill another heart producing enemy and pick it up so be careful on hard mode
I had this game when it was out on the 64, which I got from my brother for my birthday...and then the maintenance people for the apartment complex I lived in STOLE it (among other things). I LOVED the MP mode and didn't get far into the story mode. :( Like...why steal from a kid?
Yeah Gems are worthless in this game. Even if you get a true game over, you can just continue from where you left off. It would be better if it increased your live count instead, or if they existed in TSA. 12:50 Also, I believe it's more effective for the Big Bomb to be on the bottom instead of a small bomb for bomb jumps. Either way, there's an alternative method that's much easier to get up there. Bomb Jump from the platform that has the big crystal, though you'll need 8 bombs.
Umm... You mean like almost every game he's ever been in? Aside from arcade and mini games, he's *always* had a big world. Just look at Heroes, Generation, or Jetters.
***** I don't think they said he was stuck in a maze in "every game," but if I may chime in, he's been stuck in a maze far more time than he's been able to move freely in a big world. You only gave three examples for "he's always had a big world." Games that would have Bomberman "stuck in a maze" include: Bomberman Bomberman II Bomberman World (Arcade) Bomberman '93 Bomberman '94 Super Bomberman Super Bomberman 2 Super Bomberman 3 Super Bomberman 4 Super Bomberman 5 Saturn Bomberman Neo Bomberman Atomic Bomberman Bomberman World (Playstation) Bomberman: Act Zero Bomberman Live Bomberman Live: Battlefest Bomberman Blast bomberman Ultra Wario Blast: Featuring Bomberman Bomberman GB Bomberman GB 3 Bomberman (DS) Bomberman (PSP) Bomberman 2 (DS) Bomberman Blitz Bomberman Online (Dreamcast) Bomberman Online (PC) Bomberman Max Bomberman Max 2 Bomberman Touch: The Legend of the Mystic Bomb Bomberman Touch 2: Volcano Party Bomberman Dojo And I'm pretty sure I even missed a few. Normally I wouldn't go out of my way to correct someone on something like this, but I saw your comment "correcting" someone else and I just felt the need to post this because I knew for a fact that most Bomberman games were maze-like.
I've played the vast majority of those, and most of them are exactly what I was referring to by "arcade or mini games". And I know they didn't say every game, but they said it as if it were unique or different, which it really isn't.
***** Well, firstly, this was the first Bomberman game to ever feature this kind of gameplay style, with a more open world as opposed to a maze-like world, so in that respect it IS unique. Secondly, of all the Bomberman games with a more open world, this one is by far the most open and non-linear. Hero, Generation, and Jetters, while 3D, all follow a linear path. That's some more uniqueness. And thirdly, you said "aside from arcade," by which you meant the maze-like games... that make of most of the entire series, aside from this game and the three others you mentioned, give or take a few. That's not really a good argument. That would be like saying "Mario games have ALWAYS been about exploring a non-linear world like Super Mario 64, except for the linear ones." In a series of I think over 80 games, referring to 4 games as "almost every game" doesn't really make sense at all.
At first I wanted to get my comment more popular than the video. I soon realized this couldn't work because I was giving you a view each time I came to thumbs-up the comment. Now I just want to have 100 thumbs-up.
@13:25 ....aaaaaaand that's about why I have never beaten this ridiculously poorly designed game. I'm sure it has a great ending that I'll never watch.
btw, the time you are referencing it to, he's not getting it easily because he's doing it poorly. Its far far easier to get up there if u set up the bombs: across the grass, over the button that was once lit up green then across the ledge behind the button and bounce from the spot across from the button, that was once lit green, that leads to the giant Jewel.
TheSBWproductions you're welcome :3 I'm a big fan of the game. Was actually playing it yesterday. A bit more info on the bomb setup would be: Use 1 pumped up bomb for the ledge above button, 1 pumped next to button(touching the wall of the ledge above button), small bomb over button, and next to button, 1 pumped against wall(in the grass), 1-2small across the grass.
I had this game when it was out on the 64, which I got from my brother for my birthday...and then the maintenance people for the apartment complex I lived in STOLE it (among other things). I LOVED the MP mode and didn't get far into the story mode. :( Like...why steal from a kid?
I remember having this game when i was a kid, I wasn't smart enough to figure out how to finish any of the worlds.
same bro.
I rewatch his playlist for the nostalgia
I always felt sorry for the poor red bomberman that gets blasted :(
(Still watching this awesome Let's Play 4 years later. :D)

Bomberman 64 is calling you
@@flipndip5122 Thanks for the reminder. :3

Bomberman 64 was my childhood, so much unspeakable nostalgia
Same. I don't think I ever understood what was going on.
Luke Schlachter Like the ending theme.
Luke Schlachter haha, it was my childhood too, and I *LOVE* the green gardens music
same.
I bought the game for the multiplayer, but when I was alone I remember the singleplayer making quite an impact on me in middle school.
this is one of my favorite platformers of all time! collecting all those cards and opening up the true boss was awesome. Man that betrayal ran deep!
>>"I don't want to upstage the intro."
>>Proceeds to talk through the entire intro.

this was my 2nd n64 game, one of the bomberman gamesI have played, felt so fresh moving around, and battle mode was hella fun!
On the N64 I played this game so freaking much, this and Mario 64 were the shit back in the day.
Watching all of this gold card stuff is blowing my mind. I played the story mode all of the time as a kid and never could figure out what to do. I mostly played the multiplayer with friends instead.
Nice video man. You were one of the few let's plays I could find that was really good.
I love and grew up with Bomberman, too! Especially this game!
They dont talk out in that computer voice on my cart of Bomber man, this was one of my first N64 games that I still have had for over 20 years
such nostalgia, thanks for the upload

Happy belated new year thesbwproductions!
Bomberman 64 is my favorite n64 games.
While watching this trying to be nostalgic I figured out there are 2 more Bomberman adventure games on the N64 I never heard of.
You need more subs! This is great!
This game is amazing I am glad I found this one here
i loved the roflcopter at 4:17
I immediately saw the problem with you trying to get up those stairs using bouncing bombs.
+AnonymousxSource then why didnt you tell me
this video was my child hood all over again im like OMG IT IS THE LIZARD MOUTH. or I REMEMBER THAT
Still the best 64 game after all these years
you did the world a big favor with this one 👍
thanks for doing this play through
Nostalgia overload!
Came back here to watch the whole thing again :D
Where do those voices from the characters during cutscenes come from?
I actually found all of the Gold Cards myself as a kid, but there were like 2 I could not find in the first and third Green Garden Stage for the longest time. I eventually found one, and the other, it took me a while to remember that it was the Enemy Gold Card. That was embarrassing.
Sirius with Microsoft Sam is amazing
Bomberman's so cute. I mean just look at him.
I never owned this game, but I sure rented it a shit load. Weirdly enough, it's basically the only Bomberman game I've ever played. Also, congrats on your first fail montage :D Keep it up!
I beat this as a kid, but i owe it to my childhood to get the real ending.
Such an amazing game, nostalgia punched me in the hair and pulled my shirt on this one
I mean I was going to stay tuned no matter what! But I especially will since my 7 year old brain had trouble fully comprehending the later levels back then. I remember failing hard on the ice world.
bomber man best game in history
03:32 The background music sounds like something from a weather channel.
Now the weather today will be...
wow the MS Sam thing works pretty well xD
is it me or is the first level the hardest one to get the cards in? kind of cool how they made it that way to reward the player for ingenuity
I've made many elaborate "bomb-bridges" myself in this game before I found the correct means to get to certain places.
I loved this game to death back in the day XD. I still have it too and I started get back into it because I never did get the true ending so I I found your videos while looking for guides.
BTW how did you record your gameplay? Where you playing it on N64 or PC?
I'm playing on an N64 and recording the gameplay with a capture card connecting the N64 to my computer. Thanks for watching by the way!
np thnx for the answers!
that narrator voice is kinda amusing
Question im trying to make the bomb bridge dealio and my guy will only drop 4 bombs.... you had 6 idk what the hell is going on?? I got the specials and he only drops 4... ?
Just kidding i actually figured it out. Surprisingly without looking it up.
Me and my brother would fight each other in this game all of the time, OMG!
mm yes the good old days where i used to hammer down that start button for the code.
Ya know, I never thought of putting the pumped bombs on the bottom, nor bouncing from the platform with the crystal. I'll have to try that sometime.
Happy belated 4th of July thesbwproductions! By the way, my 27th birthday is coming up in 4 days! Wish me luck!
this was my shit when i was little BUT I COULD NEVER BEAT IT
Well, if you've never beat it, stay tuned! The game gets mighty interesting later on.
pretty good! :)

they take some getting used to, lemme tell ya
I'm not sure if anyone noticed but when he skipped the tutor script at 5:33. It just sounded like roflcopter.

6 fire upgrades and 6 bomb upgrades
Yes.

I know how to get the red bomb without doing the puzzle. Just do bomb climbing near the staircase.

true that! no woman can do a man better than another man. it's just common sense
Bomberman can move freely rather than be stuck in a maze using bombs.
