I still own a really old Novarossi BX21-B (short stroke, 3 transfers, green head), which is basically from the mid 1990's. And when I look at the exploded view of this BX3 on the Novarossi website, the internals (the crank, the rod and the piston/sleeve) have the exact same part numbers. Which is nice, because the engine was always quite ok and I could buy spares now. Rather strong on the bottom, just lacking a bit on the top end. Even though it's a short stroke. Nice budget engine. And yes, the rod is looong.
Nitro nation. Brilliant Floyd brewer, yeah rex has great knowledge and we are all learning so much from his channel, the engineering is so precise it's great we can learn this way
@@TheRwmods I’m so clueless on 5 port vs 3 and the benefits of either, I hope to watch your content and make a informed decision on my engine purchase for 1/8th scale kyosho buggy
@@udaaz You just need a reliable engine starting out and not worry about power. If you are new at tuning stick with a more budget engine to learn on. I recently did a livestream with Korey, some good info in here. th-cam.com/video/WNw3BZY_Q4M/w-d-xo.html
Does anyone have this engine? I have one that came with my serpent rtr GT and I want to get it modified for more power. Just curious anyone else has gotten one modified and how did the engine respond to being modified. Thanks again for another good review Rwmods
I have and watched your review on the Novarossi Rolling were you said add a 4thousand head shim get better idle tune little easier,,would a cto,5 plug work a little better than the 6 without doing the head shim? Seems it would be better a Lot better for the engine than a p3
On a Harley Davidson motorcycle it's what they call a stroker.kit, use a longer rod of course you have to use a plate under cylinder jug for piston clearance to the head,,kinda like shining a nitro engine, guys do this to get more power
Hey Rex great video, can I ask a question plz bro, : I have just purchased the 2020 novarossi mantra, what's your thoughts on this engine, also I was looking at the sleeve and it has no R printed like the others I've seen, also no tungsten weights in the crank, why would this be ? Aaron from Scotland ✌️🏴
I have not seen a Mantra personally, I do like the square stroke engines. Only the very top end engines have tungsten weights. Sometimes brass in the mid level engines. Nova actually makes so many different engines it is hard to keep track of.
Hi, I have a ofna 25 and I notice some sand blasted head button and piston head. Also blowing glow plug all the time and notice that the plugs are really black when I have it really lean settings. Can you give me some advice on how to fix this. Thanks.
It is ok to use a Os plug in a Nova. Depending on the plug you need to shim the head button if you are putting in a hotter plug. An Os P3 in a Nova without adjusting head shims can cause detonation.

I just had a magic cookie and I could watch this for hours
Nice video Rex. Can't wait to run it! I appreciate all you do.
Great introduction Bro! Really good detail, getting one of those. I'm a beginner.
Great review as always. Keep the videos coming. 👍👍
Great info Rex!!! Keep dropping knowledge on the nitro nation 💯💪😎👍🏾

The idle screw it’s on the out side that’s weird
I didn't even catch that, I think the older carbs were that way also.
Hey I heard that you shouldn't use os plugs on a nova is that true?

Grp mr ninja 21 is the most powerful nitro engine ever made
