July 10, 2022 -- Mariehamn (capital of Aland) is an autonomous territory under Finnish sovereignty. Viking Star docks within walking distance to historic 4-masted schooner Pommern and town. Beautiful video Sheila, Indeed that was 2 of the Viking Line cruise ferries you saw. Cinderella is a 1 night pleasure cruiser to Mariehamn aimed at a Swedish audience. Although she is doing Visby & Ronne cruises too this summer.
Rosella is a an older car ferry that goes back and forth to Sweden in 2 hours, but Swedes do day trips on it for Duty Free shopping onboard.
Pommern is a beautiful looking attraction , thanks for showcasing this , I’ve never been! I’ve only ever set off and passed through Mariehamn in the dead of winter.
It was a bitterly cold Sunday in winter and those streets were dead and deer were roaming freely around those wooden houses gardens!
One summer I will stay a few days on Åland.

Sounds liken our previous experiences in Oslo and Stockholm. All times, on our way up North for Aurora viewing and walking around both cities was bitterly cold. One day will take Norway cruise UP the coast in summer. 😂

This boat reminds me that 'the good old days' were frequently not so good! Certainly, travel was a lot less comfortable back then. We have a similar ship, the Polly Woodside. It looks comparably uncomfortable. Thank you for the video.
