I recall reading somewhere that a third benefit of coral snow, would be mixing a little bit of it in with coral food, shaking it up and letting it sit for a couple days the particles start attaching to each other, creating something more like the 21:42 coral snow corals in the wild feet on
I believe PNS yellosno does this

Unless my thinking is wrong, water changes alone do not to take into account the amount of trace elements that are consumed by corals or precipitate out. If the rate of consumption and precipitation is higher than the amount you’re adding in, you’re still gonna be deficient over a period of time.
For that reason, I’ve been doing quarterly ICP tests, and using captiv8 reef blueprint trace elements. You send them an ICP test they plug in the numbers into a spreadsheet and tell you how to dose based on your ICP test. You can also set up two solutions of their traces and mix them together so you only have two dosing pumps.

Hey dev I just beat my battle with crysophytes. They suck because they absorb nutrients like crazy. I read somewhere online that they utilize silicates which I found to be true. I let my rodi go a little longer than usual. Icp showed my rodi water had high silicates I replaced my filters and added another mixed bed resin to my setup. Water changes while sucking out the crysophytes worked. But it was not a fast process.

Dev! When are you going to push your TH-cam lives to some sort of podcast platform? I can’t be the only one who listens to reef podcast while I drive. 🙏🏼
