but that jugalbandi was fantastic- didn't miss a beat! having studied the mridangam, she stands above her peers in laya and tala gnanam. wish she still gave these sort of performances... in THIS style, still a very unique one.
@TheHitenMistry I do agree. Her dancing is very soft. My style is the older Kalakshetra as my teacher was trained by Balasundari, a classmate of the Dhananjayans in the 50s & 60s at Kalakshetra in Chennai. Nick
Looking at her it seems that this video was taken quite a long time ago.The Shobana that I see now dances way better than this...I guess she has transitioned very well to being a world class dancer...even this video along with the other ones highlights her innate genetic skill for dance...she has definitely worked on herself..I saw her live performance last year, her command on rhythm along with expressions & body control is beyond outstanding.
She is more lively than malavika and not as jerky as Valli is. I prefer her to both given she dances like this. Sad is her migration to semi classical and filmy dance. Her grasp on ardhis and talam is commendable. Even in Part 1 she has some unconventional executions in usual korvais.
salangai 83 Not all celebrities are great dancers . But fame comes from hard work and heritage families . Saying nobody would have heard of her if she had no famous family is like saying , we All would know how great You Are if you Were famous but your Not. Neither make either Better dancers , practice does.
Shobana was found and given a chance as a child in the 80s... her aunts, the famous travancore sisters, might have influenced her as a young person to dance... but let’s be clear... Shobana was always a great technical dancer who also happened to be a class act in acting too... she’s been famous for decades because of HER hard work and having been trained by reputated Chitra V. and Padma S... so the idea that she wouldn’t have accomplished her achievements because of her famous family is wrong... stop being jealous of a woman’s accomplishments
No she's really good in dance field, she has her own style to perform but okay some may not like it, i too don't like that way but she's genius in this field, she has a great knowledge of art and her choreos and ideas for presentation are great, her postures and all are really good and the way she dances doesn't look bad but if others try to dance that way they might not look good, so its clear is she a great dancer but I don't like her current dancing
I miss this traditional version of Shobana as a classical dancer
💯 percent true
I love this style of dance from Shobana Mam I want this type of dance
Thilang thillana is one among my favourite

+ajasminegarden name of the raga comes in the lyircs "kakaru ulley talav thilang kumara"
Very enjoyable.
Footwork is not good .Legs are wide apart all the times
she is very beautiful, is she Tamil or Malayali?
Basically malayali, but born and brought up in chennai
@@malayalamdubbingfan7138 born in Thiruvananthapuram (native)
She's Malayali
She's pretty good. I can see her doing filmy dances, but she has a great body for bharatanatyam and she should stick with bharatanatyam.
soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo niceeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
My daily routine videos
she became a star just because of her aunties. if they were not in cinema or dance field, she will be a normal dancer without any fame and glory.

she only good for acting.....definitely not quality Natyam
because of her age, used to be good
She has flat feet, very little arch. Makes it hard to dance. Not a very good dance, poor stamina.
