Saw your tutorial on faux bun & bangs decided to try it this morning for church. Wanted something different to do with the bun never thought about bangs. My hair is short in front so I had to pin my bangs, but turned out cute! Thanks for the idea.

Love this style but I wonder: I have medium length locs (they just go past my neck) and wonder if I have enough length? You are meticulous in how you care for and style your locs. Your hair and videos are amazing.

Love your videos Joy. I've gotten a lot of great ideas from you so far. I'm wondering though, would you consider yourself to have thick hair strands? I have thick hair and I'm worried that some of your styles are not going to work on me. My pony tail alone is at least a 3-4 inch handful. The two times I've attempted a bun it hasn't worked out. Each loc end fights its way out. Lol.
Crystal Phillip I'm not sure how I'd classify my hair. But keeping the bun in tact is about hair length and height of the ponytail. For me, the lower the pony tail the easier it is for the bun to stay in place. At different heights I have to use more or less pins to keep the locs in.
Wonderful! I love this hairstyle! Does this style works for "short" hair? My hair is just behind my shoulder; that's the length of my hair.

Your locks are beautiful you have no bumps what did you do to avoid them? What do you think about clipping the stray bits down the whole loc shaft ?
4hisglory365 I have imperfections. Just hard to see in video. I have lumps and bumps just not as prominent as other people's but I didn't do anything special to prevent it. My loctician used to cut down the shaft. No harm. I haven't done it since and still looks fine. Think it's fine either way. Personal preference I think.

I follow you on FB and hear...I am looking to cut my locs this summer can you offer some advise? I have been loc'ed for 7 years and am 2 or so inches from my butt and am stuck with only up do's as I hate for my hair to be down all the time.
Hi Nhemya! I defnitely recognize your name. I understand the length thing. I've recently tarted doing my hair in various styles that make it feel short all the time. people have no idea how long my hair actually is. Loc knots, petals, curls, wrap-a-lox tool left in all can give you a break. I can't do pin-ups all the time either. I'm waaay too tender headed. Those have all been helpful to me. I love your styles but i don't think it could get any of them to work on my hair. my locs are too thick. i only have 72 of them to count. you must have a whole lot more than that. i'm almost at 4 years of locs and can barely get them into a bun. they are...disobedient, lol.
