So sad we never get to see these sides of Kenya that have so much flora and fauna and history. The significance of the lakes Kanyaboli and Sare is hardly ever mentioned. We do not even know the rivers that feed lake victoria (second biggest fresh water lake in the world) of which Kenya has the most rivers feeding the lake out of TZ and UG. It is disturbing that there is a road or causeway cutting off lake sare from flowing into L. Victoria which looks like a barrier. There should have been a bridge built a long time ago to allow free flow Of L. Sare to flow into L. Victoria. Amazing how the papyrus weeds clean the river waters something we need to think about for the filthy Nairobi river and thompson falls. How we humans are so destructive to nature.
Now watching this, Western Kenya with all of its water resources, should be the breadbasket of Kenya. Look how green this place looks like. It seems the area gets reasonable rainfall plus the volumes of water coming from river Yala can be tapped for large scale agriculture to grow all manner of crops like rice to meet our rice deficit and cut on importation. Grow animal feeds crops like , sunflower, soyabeans, corn, sorghum, barley, and oats. This would help our farmers greatly and make us food secure. Instead of depending on TZ and UG for animal feeds and them selling their animal products like eggs which we can easily do here in Kenya.
This video was an education and opened my eyes to the neglect the govt for decades has shortchanged this highly productive area with huge potential from Agriculture to even tourism.
Had i known, the Galana Kulalu irrigation scheme should have been put up in this area as opposed to a semi arid area with minimal rainfall and water resources which makes it costlier to grow crops there. Hopefully the next govt will focus on agriculture in this region.

We deny Kenyans a lot of information and entertainment because we waste too much time politicking. Every TV channel you tune into their are just talking politics instead of showing such high quality, entertaining and informative documentaries. Than you to TH-camrs and NTV. We need more of this and less politics.

Lovely videos, these are lakes I have never heard of then that area is fertile and plenty of land. We really need better road transport to enable Kenyans know their country. This is my travel bucket, now I will take a drone to see the place better from the air. I wish we could shown more of such documentaries and not the usual politicking on every TV station.
