Aww he looks amazing! I did feel sorry for him when he looked at his legs and was like “where my feathers gone?” But he looks amazing! You did a great job! He was funny in the field, He could probably feel the cold a lot more 😂😍🐴
I learned this from a coach of the Special Olympics Equestrian team. If you are using a scissor to shorten mane, (if it not too thick, like on my Haflinger) comb to the other side, dampen it at the roots to keep it there. Cut then comb it back over. You'll get a much more natural edge.
He looks AMAZING!!! Like a different horse 🙊 love how felt weird without his feathers at first bless him 🥰 I hope all goes well with the vet investigations 🤞🏼
Mark Southall it’s just a horse that’s like saying all quarter horses have to be ranch horses all thoroughbreds have to be racers all arabians have to do endurance traditions change
I think that long hair on any horse is fine as long as it doesn’t cause problems for the horse and the owner has the time to keep it relatively clean and manageable. But some horses you see have ridiculously long hair, totally impractical for an average rider to maintain. I would be happier if excessive hair was not a breed ideal. Just like in dogs and cats, long hair is fine when kept well groomed but the animal suffers when neglect sets in. I love his new look and his looking at his legs and feet in amazement was a joy to see!. He must feel the difference feeling the air on his legs and neck as he moves. Seeing him prancing and bucking around the field, he looks like a new horse!. The pattern of his coat looks amazing!😉🥰
Only watching this now as Leeds has all of it's stables and liveries closed down apart from essential parts like feeding and veterinary treatments. What an amazing and beautiful horse you have and this channel is amazing even though I haven't watched it in ages 😀
Gypsies are one of my favourite horse breeds and if I were to own one I would never shave the feathers or mane and tail I think I would just tidy them up haha 😆 it’s just what I would do! The result for yours is absolutely beautiful!! His reaction to his legs was priceless 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
Rem looks awesome clipped, fingers crossed 🤞 for a speedy recovery and Rem being back to his usual self, although he looks pretty awesome in the field!!
Wow wow wow, what a transformation, Remmi looks fantastic with his new makeover! Think he very much approved, sure he needs to go to the Vet’s? Very much the “live wire”, maybe the makeover was what he was feeling he needed! Laughed at his Spring has sprung paddock moment, but in Autumn 🤔! ♥️🙌
I would LOVE it, if that was the miracle cure! I imagine if the vet had seen him then, he'd probably have said there doesn't look to be too much wrong with him! Ha!
I know I'm a little late here. He looks beautiful no matter the length of his hair, but when he's sporting that long flowing look, he's just stunning. Like a dream or fantasy. He's such a good boy.
I used to shave my cob I had on loan. Helps with not getting mites etc. I'll be doing same when I get my own etc. Beautiful cob. Reminds me of bobtail the cob I had.
You are a very smart girl! Having worked part time for an equine vet for 25 years, I saw a few feathered horses come in for lameness exams. Generally the owners were mortified at the thought of clipping any hair off. Sometimes it seemed like the feathers were more important than the lameness. You made the right decision. He seems very pleased with himself. Not looking very lame in the field.
He looks lovely you did a great job. I prefer him like that. My only that irks me is the mane. I was very surprised you took scissors to it. Once it's tidied up more he will look stunning
Holy moly! He looks on fire 🔥 Upsetting reasons why but oh wow Sophie! He looks amazing 💚 I don’t know which I prefer 😂😂 I think I’m on the fence and just love Rem 🥰
Sophie, he’s so handsome with and without his feather. You’ve done what’s best for him and it will grow back regardless. Love his reaction so so sweet of him x Sports Remmi
Remi looks fantastic and from the way he was throwing himself around the field I don’t think there can be too much wrong, unless he injuries himself in that moment of madness in the field.
Bless him his reaction to his legs was the sweetest lol cobs can literally pull off any look !....I love a Traditional Cob to be Traditional but having said that my Traditional is hogged he still has his big fluffy feather's and his long thick forelock which I always keep plaited and obviously a huge bushy tail but he is hogged as his mane is so thick that it causes a lot of ingrown hairs and it really bothers him so I had to bite the bullet and hog him but I must admit I absolutely love him hogged ! Remi looks so gorgeous 😍 he certainly seems to agree with all that showing off lol I just love how they have a mad half an hr without a care in the world like they pay their own bloody vet bills lol I never know wether to laugh or cry when watching mine lol
You can beat a long forelock, it's my favourite! I know, I was thinking "please don't hurt yourself!!" At the same time though, it is lovely to see them being a 'horse'
He looks sharp with the mane trim. His tail looks far better thinned out a bit as it has more movement. I was a little sad to see his feathers completely trimmed, but they will grow back looking better.
Also the play at the end for someone who has hair beyond their backside and has chopped a load off and then grown it again you feel so much lighter, Rem must've felt like 2lbs in weight hahaha!
First video I've watched of yours... By total coincidence I broke my ankle about 8 weeks ago and you are doing so much better than me recovery wise. I'm still in a boot and using one crutch. I'm due an MRI next week because it isn't healing properly. Glad yours was straightforward at least! Can you put closed captioning on your videos pretty please?
I like this clean look way better than the way these horses usually look, but I think nearly every horse, and especially this kind, would look super cute sporting roached, and then 'mohawk' (partly grown out roach) manes.
He looks so different! 😱Look at those long legs 🤣he looks fabulous, he pulls off his new do so well 😍
His legs look sooooo long dont they?! Supermodel!! 🤣
Aww he looks amazing! I did feel sorry for him when he looked at his legs and was like “where my feathers gone?” But he looks amazing! You did a great job! He was funny in the field, He could probably feel the cold a lot more 😂😍🐴
Poor guy, it will definitely feel strange! Hopefully when the hair starts to grow back a little he will feel more comfortable.
He was like "WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME ?? 😨"
🤣🤣🤣
It will take him a little while to get used to it.
@@RidingRemington
Yes, I think so too. 😅😂
Love his sports cob look. Hope all goes well at the vets
Thank you ever so much x
Looks amazing like a proper sports horse now x
I learned this from a coach of the Special Olympics Equestrian team. If you are using a scissor to shorten mane, (if it not too thick, like on my Haflinger) comb to the other side, dampen it at the roots to keep it there. Cut then comb it back over. You'll get a much more natural edge.
Great tip!
He looks AMAZING!!! Like a different horse 🙊 love how felt weird without his feathers at first bless him 🥰 I hope all goes well with the vet investigations 🤞🏼
He is happy and loved to bits and great to know he can pull off both traditional and sport. Lucky girl. Lucky horse 💚🍀💚
Looks so much better, and cleaner. Good job!!!
I LOVE GYPSY COBS!!!❤ He's so beautiful!
Reckon Rem was like, "I feel a ton lighter without all that hair" LOL
U have ruined that horse
Mark Southall it’s hair... it grows??? not like he’s bald
But gypsy cobs are meant to stay hairy and fat I should know I have got 30 and I’m a gypsy
He didnt know what to do with himself - Bless him!
Mark Southall it’s just a horse that’s like saying all quarter horses have to be ranch horses all thoroughbreds have to be racers all arabians have to do endurance traditions change

In the end, even he was pleased. He knew you had really spruced him up!
I know I'm a little late here. He looks beautiful no matter the length of his hair, but when he's sporting that long flowing look, he's just stunning. Like a dream or fantasy. He's such a good boy.
