The most cost effective way for solid black background is to buy black acrylic paint in a tube or bottle usually it’s not expensive otherwise you go on professional brand and use painting brush it will last you for a long time.
Thanks for the tip. Does it lay down evenly or do the brush strokes stand out?
@ it depends on the paint quality it’s possible to put few layers as desired and pencils lay well on top
