- Ramoji Film City, located in Hyderabad, India, is one of the world’s largest film studio complexes. It was established in 1996 by Ramoji Rao, the founder of the Ramoji Group, which owns several businesses, including the Eenadu media network and Usha Kiran Movies.
Origins and Vision
Ramoji Rao envisioned a comprehensive filmmaking facility where pre-production, production, and post-production could happen in one place. Inspired by international film studios like Universal Studios in Hollywood, he created a world-class film city that could accommodate multiple film productions at the same time.
Construction and Features
Spread over 2,000 acres, Ramoji Film City was designed by Indian and international architects. It includes:
