    My all time favorite. If you were to tick the boxes of perfect wrestler all rounder Scott Hall checks them all. Size, build, unique look, great worker with an UNREAL finish, the entrance surf walk, the countless In-Ring taunts with the charisma to back it up. In my opinion if you flash back to 95 Razor should have had the title, trading with Bret, Diesel and Shawn. Also in WCW 98/99, although the TV was TERRIBLE Scott Hall was SO OVER with the fans he could have carried that company with great matches rather than Hogan. Turn on any Nitro from the time and the Hall/HeyYo signs were countless. Just my opinion but this guy is so damn good, so damn cool, and brilliant in the ring.

      I agree. I think it was a huge mistake to put the title on Diesel over Razor. Razor had it all. He was the real total package and could have carried the company through the mid 90s as the man. I mean it's insane how incredibly over Razor was. I doubt Razor would have had the issues he had in WCW. Wwe would have kept him in check and he would have taken the responsibility of carrying the company very seriously.

    Hall is absolutely correct in that three-hour issue. It lessens the excitement for the viewer and softens the product creatively but they are taking on too much money to walk it back. For talent to get over, there needs to be a way to establish things as special and when you are doing as much TV as WWE is and trying to make it all first-rate, it gets convoluted quickly.
    In the 80's, they rarely had Hogan work the Saturday afternoon free TV, they mostly relegated him to Saturday Night's Main Event, house shows, and PPV's. They also kept feature matches between top stars to roughly one big one per hour show. It made the bigger shows feel special. In the mid-90's, it was one hour of free RAW with one or two big matches, a two-hour IYH PPV roughly every other month, and five major PPV's per year with a good spread. When the Monday Night Wars got red hot, they started throwing it all away to get as many big matches on their two free television shows and one monthly PPV. It worked because the business was at its biggest ever but once it cooled down, they were fucked. Hall is correct in that wrestling works best when you leave the audience wanting more. If you watch the world champion defend the belt, nearly every week, against an A-level opponent, there really isn't much of a way to build anticipation. Raw and Nitro were at their best when they understood the bait and switch. Teasing a major angle or match on free TV, holding it off until the very end and then going to dark, just as the audience wants it. That was how WCW kept that NWO vs. Sting thing hot for eighteen months. When WWF eventually turned the tide, it was by setting up an Austin vs. McMahon match, only to have it interrupted by Dude Love so they could build to a PPV match.

      I remember watching WWF as a kid and they would have tomato cans/jobbers vs the wrestling character they were trying to promote.In some ways it was cool because the bad guy would win and it would help hype him for the future.I see the logic in having no tomato cans/jobbers at all too because it makes the losing opponent more credible if he wins at lease some of the time.
      I would love to hear Vince speak on how he feels towards it.

    The fact that Scott was never world champ is the biggest robbery in the history of wrestling. He certainly deserved it

    • @crazyjim9380
      @crazyjim9380 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I don't think he needed it. I think the titles meant more when there were less of them and they weren't treated as trophies to get a guy over. The fact that people like Piper, Jake the Snake, Dibiase, Ramon, Hennig, and countless others could draw without a major World title run was a testament to how over these characters were. Undertaker could be a main event attraction, just off of how they used him as a character. Fans would pay just to watch a character they liked get revenge on one they hated. No belts, just bragging rights.

Now what he was doing in his personal life between that time, we and he will never know but I know that wrestlers don't remember absolutely everything 100% clear because all those years of travel tend to blur together at times.
