Son of slain Canadian Sikh leader speaks out on allegations India responsible for father's murder

- The son of prominent Sikh leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar spoke publicly for the first time since his father’s killing.
At a memorial marking three months since Nijjar’s death, his son Balraj Nijjar said he was surprised by Monday’s announcement from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, who informed Parliament there were “credible allegations” of a “potential link” between “agents of the government of India” and the murder.
Nijjar says Monday’s revelation helps ease the burden on him, his family and the wider Sikh community.

Speaking as one (who grew up in a small Canadian town), people of Indian descent who came to Canada, but who aren't Punjabi, are increasingly seeing the issues that caused them to immigrate coming here - that should be part of this story. Their is nothing called Sikh leader. He can be considered a leader of Jat Sikh caste. The upper caste Jat Sikh own most of the agricultural land in Punjab and also control all politics there. Khalistan is being demanded to maintain their feudal status at the top of the food chain in Punjab.
Sikhs are divided into various castes and their are caste specific gurudwaras even in the west.
