  • Today is one of the rare random days LAPD and Animal Control are patrolling Venice Beach issuing tickets to people who have their dogs on the sand.
    One officer is overheard saying they have gotten numerous complaints about people not picking up after their dogs, dogs being off leash, running at people and attacking them and stuff like that.

    You can swear, fight, smoke dope, and leave syringes on the beach, but no dogs allowed!

      Dogs on beach is illegal yes

    I don’t have a problem with them, writing people tickets for having a dog on the beach, but they don’t write the homeless tickets for anything. That’s the problem I have.

    Finally. I mean take the laws off the books if you're not going to enforce them.

      Good point. Take this law off the books - and enforce something that has actual victims, real damages, or a danger to public health.
      Dogs love the beach. So long as owners pick up after them, and the dogs are well behaved - this isn't really a 'problem', that needs 'fixing'.

      @@factchecker6674 As a Local at the beaches in question - I can assure you - that this is not a real problem.
      You're going to want to run down on the wet sand - and then watch where you step, anyway - because there's plenty of tar washing up, at times.

      @@factchecker6674 100% of the time... If not, there's a beach shower or the ocean. Poop comes off readily in water. Tar needs an emulsifier, cooking oil works well.

    They should give them a warning first, I mean its not a serious thing if they keep doing it then cite them.

      If they dont get cited they become repeat offenders

      @@jarskiXDthe City and County can't stop them by randomly writing tickets on days, weeks apart.
      It's a poor strategy, and a poor use of resources. The signs are posted, if there's a bite, or a nuisance being created - THEN cite them.

    I guess they can't figure out how to deal with the homeless on the beach leaving their garbage , piss bottles and poop bags , so lets go after people just trying to relax and enjoy the day
    now if your dog is pooping and unleashed then yes ticket them

    This is nothing new, dogs haven’t been allowed on LA beaches for decades. They have designated beaches for dogs.

    • @anotherworldviewispossible
      @anotherworldviewispossible 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not in LA County, they don't.
      This is a huge waste of resources, for a solution in search of a problem.
      They stopped trying to write tickets for this during Covid. Before that, they would do nothing for long periods - followed by random "operations" - more effective at raising money, than anything else.

    • @theotheleo6830
      @theotheleo6830 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@anotherworldviewispossible A huge waste? I see two rangers patrolling the beach who would be there regardless. The waste comes from the dogs' behinds.

    • @anotherworldviewispossible
      @anotherworldviewispossible 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@theotheleo6830 So firstly - Theo the Cop - those aren't "Rangers" - they're LA COUNTY "WARDENS" - a newly created make-work/parasitic jobs program - a position created for special needs people not from the beach area - to LEACH off of those and us, who are.
      They're essentially meter maids. But the WASTE - is that if an LAPD officer isn't there, holding their hands - they're essentially useless. And LAPD - is constantly complaining about a lack of sufficient manpower - perhaps that's why it took them 2 hours to show up, for a report of a man brandishing a firearm, who either needs his CW Permit pulled, or who was illegally carrying a concealed firearm.
      Likewise - at nearby Oakwood park - where the community has been dealing for years, with a group of entitled gentrifiers, who've recently moved into the neighborhood - and are now trying to steal the park from the community, and turn it into a defacto Dog Park (nevermind that there's an ACTUAL Dog Park, 7 blocks away) - we can't get the LAPD to do damn thing. They say that it's not their problem... But as we see in this video - it actually IS - when they want it to be.
      There's 0 problem with dogs, or dog poop on the beach here in Venice. I'm a local - and I know. I walk across that beach, barefoot, all the time.
