I still have my first copy of Dynasty and the poster that was on my wall in 79. I love your Dynasty collection! It’s also my most bought Kiss album. I have a lot of variations but I passed on the 45th since I already had the green 40th. If I had known about that sweet Mylar poster, I definitely would have grabbed one. Dang. Have a great weekend!

From that, I would assume, it had just been around for a number of years and finally used? Maybe also to play on the "Return of KISS" theme of the marketing and tour? Fun to think about for sure. Happy New Year Pee Wee, Strutter Dog and Ric. I've got the Canadian version of the long-play EP of 'I Was Made for Lovin' You', about the only KISS EP (I believe) I have in my own vinyl collection. Finding vintage KISS albums 'in the wild' in Canada is akin to finding hen's teeth in-reality in this country. Only beat-up, worn-out copies of any KISS album can be found at garage sales very occasionally. The 'old Playboy' smell is genuinely an hypnotic scent for aficionados of the grander days of our youth that triggered a sense of relevance for the devotion we held for quality over quantity. It will be interesting to see what KISS does for a box-set(?) of the Unmasked album. This video's clickbait to be honest leaves me scratching my head.
It's getting harder and harder to find any KISS vinyl in the wild here anymore as well. Love that old Playboy smell. If 'nostalgia' had a smell, it would be that. The thumbnail was designed featuring all 4 channels that were doing the VINYL tag, but we decided to each film our own, but use the same thumbnail to tie them all together. Have a wonderful weekend. This was the Dynasty throw down! The Japanese pressings look awesome and i also wasn’t aware of the subtle differences on the foreign cover variants. The 45th anniversary jacket/poster look absolutely stunning. I’m truly hoping that I’ll stumble across the Alive II misprint in the wild, it’s one of those golden gooses. The Originals baseball cards completely escaped me, I’d honestly shell out if KOL did a bells-and-whistles reissue of that. Absolutely loved your video and I’m glad that we joined forces on this. Now I’m gonna go journal 😉

Awesome foreign pressings. I have Kiss Killers foreign pressing and I believe I might still have Double Platinum "KIZZ" likely from either East or West Germany. Since the Double Platinum was released in 78', the Berlin wall wouldn't have been demolished entirely until 1989 anyway. Awe Ric, you showed a really worn looking cover of Dynasty with red font on the front, black font on the backside which is extremely unusual for me to see and quite new to my eyes. 🥰 Love it. I thought Casablanca Records just pressed those covers in red font only with no variations except for the straight jacket cover variant. But wow! That's sweet! ❤ I just have the US version of the Dynasty Lp and the Ploygram re-issued cassette tape, and one Dynasty 8-track tape. Those are totally awesome variations. If it gets really bad I'll pitch a blanket fort in my front room. 😊 I know my electric company sent me a text early on Friday (which is extremely rare) informing customers of the possible power outages and life threatening severe cold. Where I'm at the weather radio predicted -0 (minus zero) with freezing rain, heavy snow, and downed tree limbs and winds up to 45 mph making visibility impossible. This storm is supposed to start for my area around 9am Saturday through midnight Sunday. Thankfully I have weekends off so I won't have to go anywhere. That's intriguing that your worn cover Dynasty is from El Salvador. Did it come with the inserts, order form, and poster? I'm just curious if that was just a US thing or if it was put in all of their foreign pressings too. I do think I have the straight jacket cover on two Lps. My third one is them wearing black. On the straight jacket cover you'll see Paul with a bit of white on his shoulder. On the other cover it will look black like the background. I was always interested in the hows and whys of Kiss's foreign pressings. 😊 ❤ My guess on the German Double Platinum Lp was due to political reasons and their "SS's" had to be changed. I really can't go into further detail about it, but somwhere in my years of being a Kiss fan I read that was the reason why. Not sure what music magazine I read that from, possibly several. I'd love to see more videos covering the foreign pressings and how common or rare they are. This was a fun video to watch. As a Prince 12" single collector it was nice seeing somebody collect another artist the same way. The whole time I was thinking about what Prince records I would show for each category. Funny enough, the Prince 12" single I have the most different pressings of is "Kiss"! 28 different pressings! My favorites being the South African pressing and the unofficial South Korean version! Still searching for the unofficial version pressed on purple vinyl! Happy collecting!! PS: German variations will be the death of me! Glad to see it isn't only on Prince records LOL!!

Just found this video...thanks for sharing, awesome collection, I used to have the Japanese version of Creatures and the Alive and Destroyer albums with the blue Humphrey Bogart labels but those are long gone unfortunately...I got the 45th anniversary of Dynasty only because the one I have skips but yes the cover and the vinyl are very cool...I haven't bothered as of yet to actually check out the poster but now after seeing yours I will. If you ever see the DYNASTY 8-Track cover it's that (only on the album). The un-cropped version of the picture where you can see the white under shirts they are wearing (most visible on Paul and Ace). Often referred to as the "Straight jacket version". Have a wonderful weekend! 🤘🙏
Hey! If you ever see the DYNASTY 8 Track...the cover they use on it, is the same cover used on the Misprint. It's an uncrossed photo of that cover, and you can see their white undershirts. Most notable on Paul and Ace. Often referred to as the "Straight Jacket Cover". It's easy to "not" notice it, hence, my hope is to one day find it in the wild LOL. Here's to hoping.
