Now i look back Slade had it all...Noddy’s vocals have not been bettered and the whole band rocked with the best.....well done lads and thank you for the great great music....
Such a wonderful chance to hear some folks in the media that have an appreciation for Slade . I remember seeing them at Winterland Auditorium in San Francisco and they were just fantastic . They had the style , fun attitude , and loud blues rock that had that old building shaking . I talk to younger kids today , and they have never heard or heard of Slade . So sad , they were a very special band , one of the few that realy " got " rock 'n roll . Here in the States , that Rock and Roll Hall of Fame should enshrine them before some Slade fan burns that place to the ground . God bless Slade - you brought a lot of joy and good times to us , we will remember them all . Gordon Landreth , Atherton , CA USA .
like he said it would be hard to re-create what they did in the past , true ! But i would not care about that i would just be so happy to see them again , no matter how they played ! i would be ultra happy just to see them one more time ! Edone Fleites
Slade were of a time , they were four young midlands lads who were out for fame & fortune. They also had a fantastic time achieving their goal. They gave us great songs full of hope , amusement & were very entertaining. It would be fantastic for us older people if they would reform but as Jim Lea said, it would be different , not the same energy or enthusiasm , which was the very essence of Slade. 👍
I still believe that they have ONE farewell album for all the loyal fans, that is what we would like to say, thank you for everything please consider :o)
These guys have a very rare opportunity nowdays to reunite - they are all still alive and, more or less, healthy. It sucks if they'll never do. I know of Jim's health problems but, thankfully, he seems to be doing well.
is it only me who's noticed the person who uploaded this video has got their names mixed up Jim Hill and dave lea .. for a second I was like who the fuck are they 😂 lol good interview tho
@glengamble526 My problem is Daves version of Slade is pretty bad. They are doing the history of the band a big misjustice. They sound awful 😖 and to be honest Dave doesn't help. Short fat and ugly and yes I know how old he is but he's only ever been an adequate guitarist hardly a shredder and what I've seen of his band I wouldn't waste money on a ticket. Booting Don out was a big mistake because Don is now working with Jim and they sound great. It also proves than Jim is actually a better guitarist than Dave and it is now recognised that most Slade recordings were by Jim. Nod and Dave only turned up when the main tracks had already been laid in fact I'd go as far as to say that Kamikaze Syndrome Rouges Gallery and You Boys was nearly all Jim with the rest of the band just laying overdubs on the final tracks. Controversial suggestion? Maybe But later on Nod, Dave and Don weren't interested in spending weeks in the studio. Jim loved it. He is the real power behind Slade.
@drugaddicter Jim was the baby of the band as such. Apart from him they were and obviously still are ugly gits 😂 Hardly rivalling Brian Connolly in the handsome stakes. No looks to lose but being a male teenager in the early seventies their looks meant nothing to me it was and will always be the glorious music that matters.
im also a Led Zepplin Lover have all their Works, but im a life long pro Musician who has also graced the worlds tour stages and been written into the international Music industry archives,so as a Musician i will say to CAMDENTOWNJOHN, wrong you´re fusing heavy rock with commercial successfull Teenage Pop Rock, slade could have probably played such also back then had they have not had their way/Direction in music diverted zto this slade style,---- Led Zepplin where also fantastic but worlds apart from slade and where overall never a commercial Band, so these statistics are correct, maybe u.k´s most successfull Teenie band along with sweet, bay city rollers, the partrige family, garry glitter band, david essex, the Osmonds, wizzard, pilot, ace, and so many others.----Ive always loved slade great Guys who ive stood alongside on stage many times, there by far not my Personnal Favorites, but they dominated the music world back then ,within their reign of the on stage,Led Zepplin cvouldf never be compared,as they where overall a world L.p (Un Commercial band) apart from a whole lotta love and maybe Stairway to heaven.
@gypsyroadhog hey m8, no hard feelins. 2 me and 2 many other Slade fans it is gutting that Nob do'nt wish 2 continiue the band but we all raspact his delcision coz at the end of the day it was his band' as much as anyones'. I apoligise if I insulted you. no offence meant m8. SLABE are my all time favrite, much raspect 2 Nob and the boys weather they raform or not m8!
Can Dave play the guitar I see no evidence anywhere of him playing anything on his guitar there's one on you tube guess what no sound I think the bass player was the guitar player
@gypsyroadhog hey m8 your out of line. Nob do'nt want to try 2 recrate his youth, and has moved on 2 other projex. Jim is the same. u say u r a Slade fan well do'nt run yuor mouth off againt Nob tha'ts all m8
Now i look back Slade had it all...Noddy’s vocals have not been bettered and the whole band rocked with the best.....well done lads and thank you for the great great music....
Slade and The Sweet were the only Bands I listened to back then. I recognise Dave Hill,
but who was the other guy with the glasses?
Yeah AC/DC tried to steal Noddy at one point, haha... sadly of course after they lost Bon Scott.
Fair play to Jim for telling it straight at the end there 👏
....especially with Dave, who has worked hard to keep the band's heritage alive, sitting next to him. 😊

Edone Fleites , yes it would. BTW, you don't have to put your name because it's always right below your comment. lol
Edone Fleites The singer said in the rockumentary there was no way he would do it ☹️
Slade baby....they were sooooooo cool.
Best live band I have ever seen...
By a country mile
Amen!!

I concur they were loud back in the day they were loud. Every concert I went to I could hear only buzzzzzzzzzing in my ears for about 4 days. Magic.
Классные талантливые ребята !!! Не зазнались и не зазвездились !!!
HAPPY YEARS with Slade T.Rex The Sweet G Glitter A. Stardust etc etc ....
Yeah... I just loved my teen years...!! The music was outstanding...!! 😍👍
Best live showi ever saw was Slade and Quo on the same stage Guildford Civic Hall in the seventies........ears still ringing....
I still believe that they have ONE farewell album for all the loyal fans, that is what we would like to say, thank you for everything please consider :o)
Agreed.
My oh my oh yeah.

Jim's not the only one, Dave and Don have had their share of poor health too. Only the great god Nod seems to be fit as a butcher's dog.
@@fus149hammer5 yeah you say that-
Yeah! just for Jim one more gig with Slade!! =)
Jim Lea is a very good looking bloke for his age
Да, это Slade!!!
Fantastic to see the WHILD one with former band member DAVE.
It'll never 'appen though...
SLADE what a band! Nick Owen all the best for the future.
Best ever ... Top boys 📀📀📀
Why do they always say they are from Wolverhampton. Noddy was from Walsall
That's great dave and jim together!
What would jim thing of dave's slade these days?
Jim looks very healthy!
I saw them enough and boy was they loud
that's great!!! Jimmy looks very young!!!!
Other way round, Dave hill and Jim lea
What a great great band 🙏
Fantastic
Very good set that is too.
Gooooöd!
is it only me who's noticed the person who uploaded this video has got their names mixed up Jim Hill and dave lea .. for a second I was like who the fuck are they 😂 lol good interview tho
Who cares if they got their names wrong.
What I want to know is where Don Holder and Noddy Powell are.
what a band what music pukka
Yay!
Jimmy Lea is still smoking hot.
So big a fan is presenter Nick Owen, that he couldn't even get the title of Merry Xmas Everybody correct.
Dave and Dom would tour but Noddy and Jim won't
Nod and Jim don't need the money. 😅
@@fus149hammer5exactly-they wrote the songs. That’s where the money is.

Lol what a joke...says he's a big ...then he's just about to say and ofcourse happy xmas everybody!!! ..
It wouldn't be the same if they got back together though. Maybe one time for a charity or something but not a full time band. Maybe an interview!!
Mister Noddy the best
Come on, Jim.....just one more gig?
Never say never
And why are people saying Jim Lea looks young and good looking??
no, it's Dave who hasn't changed at all over the ten years (1999-2009). Jim looks pretty old as he was.
They’ve got the hots for him that’s why…..have you heard the word ‘flirting’? Trudy and Deborah…are doing it….Debbie Harry….Griswalds doing it..
Потому , что это так и есть !!!
@drugaddicter Jim was the baby of the band as such. Apart from him they were and obviously still are ugly gits 😂 Hardly rivalling Brian Connolly in the handsome stakes.

Loud loud n radio rental

Yes sounds likes he's using redial!

You didn't look very far - th-cam.com/video/EntHrc8PJIw/w-d-xo.html
To be fair I would dispute that they were the biggest band in the early 70s, I think Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd were bigger.
Not in Europe
