    Am really growing to love this channel! Great coverage of a game I also really like. Lot's of depth. Hope this will be done for the expansion and other games as well :)

      Thanks for the kind words mate. Means a lot to get this sort of feedback. :)
      Unfortunately I skipped the add-ons for this Kickstarter as I was really struggling with the overwhelming amount of content games were offering! Big regrets with that decision on this one though, because this ones a solid installment. Hoping the expansions become available at retail soon! If we do get our hands on it, we'll definitely revisit this list

      @@BoardDownUnder And I was wondering why you stopped at 7.
      In a case like this (CMON game by Eric Lang especially) it's always best to go all in. If you don't care for an add-on it should sell easily - usually at more than you paid for it.
      Luckily you already have the stuff that's most expensive to get later. The rest should be in retail soon.
      Looking forward to a Pharao gameplay video by you guys.

      @@oerthling Spot on! Made a poor decision with this one! I was on the fence about whether to back it at all because while Blood Rage and Rising Sun are different games, I was very much thinking "I've got two _similar_ games in my collection with all the bells and whistles.... do I really have room and time for a third, and how different can it be!?"... mistakes were made. Looking at the popularity of Ankh I'd be surprised if these expansions don't hit retail, so I'm fairly sure I'll be scooping them up when they do!

    Great video, appreciate the write up 👍. It’s interesting they didn’t try to balance the factions better when it’s been hailed by many as a great 2 player game.

    • @BoardDownUnder
      @BoardDownUnder  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You're welcome! This is a great 2 player game, without a doubt, and while I do think there are imbalances I think you would have to have two very experienced players to truly know the impact. I'm positive there are ways to counter the effectiveness of some gods which I'm not aware of yet, haha. These are my initial impressions after several plays, and the rankings I provided aren't just "power" based, my opinion on how fun they are weighs in heavily!

    Hi man, nice video. Horus is also pretty strong. If you control 1-2 regions with him (4-5 player game) you can really benefit from his special power. Every time when you are stronger in some specific region with your units you can prevent others from playing Plague of locusts or Chariots. Also at the same time you can easily benefit from Drought card. :)

    • @BoardDownUnder
      @BoardDownUnder  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the feedback! Yeah this makes perfect sense - and I definitely think I'll be shuffling these gods around if I ever revise this with the pantheon expansion! I'm not a big fan of bidding in games - too much mind game for me to handle, haha, so I think this is why he really doesn't appeal to me much!

    Great list, I’ve only experienced 4 of the gods so far. Found Isis was so powerful, OP perhaps. Playing first 4 player game next week

    • @BoardDownUnder
      @BoardDownUnder  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, I've seen Isis be a real nuisance! Plague of Locusts is the best way to shut her down, but that obviously requires followers which can put you in an awkward spot paying for Ankh powers. Less awkward for me as I usually end up forgetting to pay anyway, haha. #guilty #cheetah

    • @robertdavey5582
      @robertdavey5582 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've played Ankh 3 times now each at 4 players and our group thinks Isis is really weak. He power effectively locks you out of the Loki strategy and positioning is so important meaning you may not be next to your temples to get the bonuses from whatever you're attuned to. Plus, with 3 other people playing Plague of Locus her units usually get wiped out anyway.

    • @TheDepolarization
      @TheDepolarization ปีที่แล้ว

      @@robertdavey5582 I’ve noticed this as well. Isis isn’t really desirable. Just move away from her. She can only influence one region, and she doesn’t save her warriors during plague.

    Osiris, is so impresive. It just spam miniatures in the table, in a combination with the mummy cats or the mummy, makes a great deal. All the games i have play, Ra make the most powerfull rush of points, its a good god for the early game. Isis it's good, nice counter to Anubis, but i feel it a little slow. Amon is the best god in games for 2 players. Anubis, i don't like it so much, but makes you constantly aware of his force. I havent played with the Phanteon expa, but at least, Seth call my attention.

      We are working through a review of the game. That it will probably be next up, but in that I think we will avoid talking about comparisons too much as we want to rate the game based on its own merit. There's a good chance we might release a comparison video after. :)

    Sobek is amazing parking him on a water tile between 2 temples while attuned gives you a great buff and then use his water tiles to shrink areas down to lock them down I loved my plays with him so much. I think if you combine him with some of the water based guardians it could be amazing

    • @BoardDownUnder
      @BoardDownUnder  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

  • @marcelbreitbach7315

    Not sure if you are overestimating Oriris. His ability is not equal to pyramid attunement as he can only summon 1 extra figure regardless of how many underworld token he has on the board.

    • @BoardDownUnder
      @BoardDownUnder  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep, spot on, it's a "lesser" pyramid attunement, and I shouldn't really have referred to him as having pyramid attunement. Personally I like spreading across the board and having my finger in every pie, and I like the tricks you can perform with placing tiles on the map. The only thing I really enjoy more is Amun's double card power. Osiris enables both these things, and I don't have to pick up pyramid attunement to do so, which is why I have him ranked so high.
