Here we are in 2022----52 years (half a century) after they broke up and they are still the largest selling band in history. Other facts--after they hit big in 1964 they toured for 2-1/2 years and said enough of that. They put out 11 albums in 7 years. And they were done and gone.

The waving Beatles were dressed the way they dressed when they first blew up, collarless grey suits. They had changed so much, I think this is them saying "Hey, it's still us". The Hawaiian word Aloha means both Hello and Goodbye, hence the Hula dancers and the Hey-la, Hey A-loha coda at the end.

The Beatles are the greatest band in the history of music. They had sooo many No. 1 hits that they made a HUGE double or triple album consisting of ONLY their hits that went to number one! That's incredible! No other band could do that. This rabbit hole has no end! Thanks for reacting to them.

A lot of what you are describing is the handiwork of George Martin. He was the Beatles producer, a huge collaborator on their overall sound, their development, and their experimentation and influence, and one of a number of individuals with a legitimate claim to the moniker "the fifth Beatle". The more you know about the Beatles, the more you'll appreciate the contribution of George Martin.

Just some info, John Lennon and Paul McCartney first met in the Summer of 1957, Paul brought in George Harrison in the spring of 1958 and while they played together they took on the Beatles name in the summer of 1960. Ringo Starr joined the band in 1962 after Producer George Martin felt they needed a better Drummer. They first became a Sucess in the Spring of 1963 in England, due to some political issues at Capital Records they didn't have their music released in the US until late 1963, They would make their debut in the US in February 1964. Because no one could hear them as they played, due to the screaming, they stopped touring in 1966. They would end up splitting in 1970 with Let it Be as their last album. All Four would have successful solo careers with Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr still going strong. John Lennon was shot and killed by a deranged "fan" in December 1980 and George Harrison died of cancer in November 2001. The three remaining Beatles reunited in 1996 to release two new songs using demos by John Lennon, and a Documentary series.

You forgot that Stuart Stutcliffe was the original bass player. He was so shy about his playing that he would play with his back to the audience. He died of a brain aneurysm in ‘62 in Hamburg. Rather than replace a close friend, Paul took over on bass. Before that Paul played as third guitar or keyboard. Hamburg, Germany was where the Beatles really came into their own and honed their craft.
Pete Best was the original drummer.

I love that 'going to the top' thing you do. This may surprise you...but, before the Beatles made it and would be really depressed, the'd do this thing. John would say...'where are we goin' fellas?' And the others would answer 'to the Top, Johnny!' And he'd say 'Where's that, fellas?' And the'd say 'To the Toppermost of the Poppermost, Johnny!' True story!!

One thing you need to know is that they didn't like videos where they have to lipsync & they make it clear to the viewers that they're not really singing, hence the comedy show they play all along. They didn't take those recording video sessions too seriously. And let's face it: they were fun guys in their early years.

They were the best at getting songs stuck in your head. Also, the best at getting people singing along after hearing the song, once, or even part way through - they will be singing the chorus right along with the rest of the song. You guys were already singing to them. Just like everyone else does. I have been doing it for about 50+ years (I am older than that though). I think you may be singing to these songs 50+ years from now too. Most of the music made today will be long gone but I don't think The Beatles will be. They still had the number 1 selling album in the US in 2020 - 50 years after it's original release.

You may not realize that you guys are hearing for the first time & reacting to what may be the greatest band in history. I say this because they went from songs like "I Wanna Hold Your Hand" to "Sgt. Pepper" in 6 years and recorded the Sgt. Pepper album using only a 4 track recorder. If you know anyone who is familiar with recording music they will tell you how incredible that is. Modern musicians today have virtual unlimited tracks to use when recording and the Beatles music sonically is just as good if not better. They also did one of every type of song you would hear on the radio - rockers , ballads , silly fun songs , political , social commentary. They did it all. I believe they had more #1 songs than any other group in history - something like 44 #1 songs.

  • @Hollingsworth2781

You should do reactions off their two greatest hits double albums 62-66 and 67-70. There are so many incredible songs on those records. I literally like every song on those two records. I love about 100 beatles songs, but here are a few of my faves: she loves you, do you want to know a secret, I should have known better, I saw her standing there, yesterday, the long and winding road, nowhere man, norwegian wood, fool on the hill, in my life, and I love her, with a little help from my friends, all my loving, across the universe, I want to hold your hold, let it be, from me to you, a taste of honey, octopus's garden, can't by me love, o bla di o bla da, ask me why, michelle, twist and shout, and so many more. favorite albums- abby road, the beatles second album.

The Beatles pretty much invented the concept of the music video. Their first movie- which I cannot praise enough- "A Hard Day's Night" is so old it was black and white. They had a Saturday morning cartoon show. I'm old enough to be you guys' grandfather- I saw this stuff live. Their very last performance is possibly their best- they went to the roof of their studio and held a concert, completely unannounced, just playing for the people. Traffic came to a standstill and the police eventually intervened. You guys should that stuff out.

Strawberry feilds is a cemetary in england near where they lived. In the end of that song hidden in the music is john saying " i bury paul" . This relates to another of there songs a day in the life which mentions a man who was stoned not noticing the lights had changed and had a car crash which is referring to paul who had a car crash. This led to a conspiracy theory that exists to this day that paul was killed and replaced by a look alike. The beatles had many hidden messages in their songs including one uou have to play backwards to hear
