To get thorough with phrases and clauses and it's types, which book do I have to read? I'm in grade 8. Mam please help me with this question. Last week, the flights were delayed due to bad weather (frequently). Should place the adverb in the proper position. Where should I place it? Between the auxiliary verb and main verb or after the main verb? Thank you mam!
The beauty of an adverb, and indeed one way to identify it, is that it can be placed anywhere in the sentence. It is a movable part of speech. So put it wherever you like. As for books. You should buy Language with Ease starting from Grade 4 through to 7 and do the exercises. We will soon be putting up answer keys on kindle. This is the only way you will strengthen grammar, vocabulary and writing. The books are available on our website: www.mindsprings.in

Good morning ma'am.Why haven't u introduced Material Noun. Usually in book we see Material Noun. E.g- He drinks water. Here water is material.n. The water of the Ganga is sacred. - will water become common n. here?
You can call it material noun as a branch of common nouns. No problem. I have stuck with 4 nouns as in the future the material noun creates no complications. So the label is immaterial.
Madam,🙏 I have a doubt about collective noun. Suppose the question is to pick out the collective noun in the sentence and the sentence is" A herd of cattle is grazing in the field". Ma'am, my question is can it be devided in to two nouns like 'herd' a collective noun and 'cattle' a common noun or collectively one can say ' herd of cattle' a collective noun? Please ma'am clarify my doubt🙏
Collective noun is 'herd' not 'herd of cattle'. Uou can also have a herd of buffalos or a herd of elephants /cows etc. We can use it alone as the herd came down the hill.

Family and chair are common nouns. Chair is not a concrete noun - wood is. Concrete means material not thing. Abstracts are attitudes, emotions, feelings and ideas. Family is a collective for a group of people. If family had a quality of familiness (we don't have this) then that 'quality' would be an abstract noun, like happiness, sorrow, democracy, friendship etc. I hope this is clear.
Both. Depending on how you use them. Proper if capitalised and referring to our planet. Common if not capitalised and you are talking of earth as in soil and rock, or moon and sun as part of many heavely bodies.
