I cannot name a diver that doesn’t have a second hand. Especially with no complications as this. The fact they sell a chronograph that doesn’t function tells me all I need to know about this brand. Definitely not interested in addition to their inflated ‘Invicta like’ marketing. Good, honest review mate.

I did order one for the sake of an objective review. It’s on its way, but at least it has shipped two days after placing the order.
The brand *really* needs to clean house before it gets any respect, because it’s practices are debatably why the brand is so hated.

In this 11/11 sale I've bought an Addiesdive/Steeldive 200m submariner homage with somewhat similar specs to this reviewed piece, it even has a Miyota 2115 quartz movement, for less than 1/4 of the price asked by Filippo Loreti. I must admit this watch looks nice at first glance and the bracelet amazed me, but one then clicks the link in the video description and sees the price.

Personally I am not overly impressed. At first glance it looks good, the set of hands is probably the strongest point of this watch. Which leads to the lack of a second hand. This is acceptable on a dress watch but on a tooly watch it kinda looks odd to my eye. I have no issue with a ticking second hand on a quartz watch unless it doesn't line up with the markers. And the misprinted marker on the bezel doesn't scream quality or longevity. But as always a good and unbiased review. Cheers👍

There are three elements to a watch 1) how it looks, 2) quality and quality control and 3) what you get for the money - is the watch worth the price.
    1) I like the way the watch and packaging look.
    2) shame you couldn't get an automatic .. isn't their motto 'value for money'? I noticed no seconds hand so we don't know if it hits the markers or if the seconds hand is bouncy - smart if you want to hide potential issues.
    3) the watch is over priced for the specs and compared to other similar watches.

  • @chrisc475
    @chrisc475 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Ooh, brave man!
Edit: Having watched the video it's better than I was expecting. There's more to it relative to the fashion watch brands that promote themselves via social media (incl. DW, Vincero and MVMT) and it does appear better made and higher specced. However, £150 is still expensive for a quartz with a jangly bracelet, mineral crystal and indifferent lume, so not for me.

Considering you can get any number of Ali Express divers with nh35 movements, sapphire crystal, ceramic bezel and screw down crown for about £70, £126 after discounts for quartz, mineral crystal, ali bezel etc doesn't seem so much of a good deal. @@HonestWatchReviewsHWR I don't think the Filippo Loreti brand is strong enough to compete in any other market though, I would say that is their direct competition. I remember getting into watches earlier this year, and following all the ads etc, and then watching TH-cam reviews, and pretty much skipped all the filip Loreti, mvmt etc stuff, and bought a pagani yachtmaster homage as my first ever automatic diver. I hate to be a spec nerd, but I use my early buying criteria as a good gauge for what I expect for my money now. There are established brands that I like, that are far more expensive, but they better be good specced for the price difference to make me want to wear something with brand recognition.

Push-pull on quartz should absolutely be good enough for swimming (50m/100m) as long as you don't bump ithe crown into something (that's why I vastly prefer them recessed into the case). But why would you pay 150€ for this if you can get the Casio MTD1053 (European cousin of the Duro) with 200m for 60€ right now without any sale? I mean it looks a little bit more subby-like, but that design and the sunburst are extremely common and can be had on Chinese watches from 10€ up.

Can get a San Martin Water Ghost v3 for the same price on sale.. makes you think. Apart from the pretentious name and Invicta style marketing, it's an ok watch. If this was an aliexpress watch, it would not be more than 75usd.. I think for this price sapphire and screw-down crown is something you'd expect, even from a microbrand. Alu bezel I actually like on this one, bar the paint not being applied properly.

I understand you are just trying to just review the watch and put the marketing and controversy to the side, but I can’t support the conclusion of this video. If the company was just selling Chinese watches at face value we wouldn’t have an issue with them. But they are not. They are blatantly scamming people. A massive percentage of their customers never receive their products, or receive an inferior version than promised, and they blatantly lie over and over. Even if the watch you got wasn’t cherry picked (which others have proven they send different watches to reviewers than to customers) how can you tell people to even consider buying from a company which is blatantly scamming their customers and not even delivering half their orders!? First video of yours I’ve disliked. Sorry.

The audio is too low to hear, had to turn the volume to over 70% to just be able to hear anything. As for the watch, it's a weird one, really, no second hand and at only 100 m they should have chosen a less loud name than Oceanus, maybe a "Tubmaster" LOL . Also the movement on this is M2025 - a low-level quartz which costs around 4-5$ even at retail. Maybe that's the reason they didn't put a second hand there since you can't guarantee it will hit the markers. For the price you can get most of the good Chinese automatic divers on Ali

It is a nice looking watch with its own take on a dive watch. However, it is ridiculously overpriced. The most basic Miyota quartz movement, no date or centre seconds. Nothing wrong at all with the Miyota movement, excellent and reliable. Those Miyota movements can be had for a couple of pounds or less when buying in bulk. I have to say the likes of Pagani Design, Parnis and many others far out spec and cost so much less than this FL. I am wearing a Pagani Design with a Seiko VK63 mechaquartz chrono movement, sapphire glass, anti reflective coating, all stainless steel case and bracelet, milled clasp, screwdown crown, ceramic bezel insert all for £60. You have to think about where the money has gone on a watch. The first thing to note is the movement which is the most vital. Cheap movement, so where have they spent the money? Sapphire coated, they haven't spent any money there. Cheap bracelet, they haven't spent any money there. Is the case SS or is it plated? Back is most likely stick on embossed.
In other words, it looks like they've cheaped out on everything except for the milled glasp and yet they're charging an overpriced premium for what you could buy on Ali Express for about £16.

Seriously man, you have either been paid or you know absolutely nothing about watches, or that company. Let me explain. These watches are made in China by contract manufacturers. They've got nothing to do with Italy. The watches are shipped from China to a warehouse in Lithuania. There are normally huge delays in delivery, people can wait 2 months (if they even get the watch) for delivery. Why because the Chinese factory needs a minimum order size to start making them so they must wait for enough orders. That's why some get it in the promised 5-11 days and others wait 5-11 weeks. You can buy similar quality watches on street stalls in Hong-Kong, or Shenzen, where these things are assembled for 20 to 30 dollars. You can also get similar quality on Chinese sites like Alibaba for the same price of 20 to 30 dollars. If you check out the movements used in these watches, you can buy them individually for about 10 dollars and in bulk for a dollar each. If you want to build a trustworthy channel stay away from companies like Loretti, Valuchi, Vincero, MVMT. They make rubbish watches for about 15 to 30 dollars a piece. You should do your research.

I bought a blue face one of these over 4 months ago. It was set to GMT as soon as it out of the box. It has not needed to be reset since then, it keeps excellent time. After talking to a friend of over 30years he persuaded me to buy a swiss watch, saying I would buying quality and a high quality movement. So I bought a TISSO powermatic80 silicium at £650. It loses 1 minute and 35 seconds every 10 days ....so in a month it will lose over 4 1/2 minutes, 9 minutes in 2 months, as soon as the shop opens after lockdown it will be taken back, its manufacturers number is T127407A, just incase you think I,m making this up.

Just clicked to watch after seeing the Ben’s Watch Club video.
Fair and balanced review of the watch itself mate. The Caseback seems like the best part of the watch if I’m honest🤩. It looks good. No problem with the aluminium bezel and the case shape and blue sunburst dial look great.
But! 90 click bezel?!? No thanks, the bracelet doesn’t look convincing to me especially with the lack of enough micro adjustments.
My biggest concern is the company behind this appears to not deliver on their promises. With so many customers complaining of missing watches and poor customer service the “10 year warranty” is worthless in my opinion.
I will be staying well away from this brand.

I have 5 different Filippo Loreti watches and I love them all ! Yes, the marketing is gibberish as is most marketing for any product. Caveats:
    1) bought them at an average price of 80 USD about two years ago - too many other good choices at the current prices
    2) I view them as a fashion accessory not a tool watch so I don't care about sapphire, lume, day/date nor second hand. I love the look of them, women love the look of them.
No... I don't get stopped all the time...
    3) the few times that I needed to contact customer service, the issues were resolved with little delay and little fuss. Unfortunately, it appears that customer service has declined.
In general, I would highly recommend the watches as an accessory if the price was still at the 80ish USD mark. At the current price of 170ish USD, save your money for a quality microbrand like Zelos, Helm, etc.

These watches are pure unadulterated crap. You can find watches just as good on Ali Express for 20 quid. You've got "Italian" watches manufactured on contract by Chinese sweatshops sold by a couple of Lithuanian blokes who try to sound Italian in their marketing vids. Buy yourself a nice Seiko 5 sports, an Orient, or something else of high quality instead. Anyone who says this crap is any good is getting paid to say it......no matter what they might tell you. I suggest, go to Ali Express and see similar watches probably made in the same factories as these.
