I just finished watching your video on how gray is going out of style and then I see you use it extensively in this home. I have been using grays in my homes for 40 years and I really don’t see that changing. I do like how the Cloud White played with the grays and would consider following that lead in my next project. Loved your tour and your iteration of color.
Yes! I like the interior flat black with step up to satin doors. *And I like to tripple whites:* Chantilly Lace, an Ivory, and a Creamy White. ...with a Caliente Red Throw, Wall w/Eggshell, Satin or with a chalk mix for a linen texture, almost a suede texture. You can brighten Calente a notch and it can offer greater light to color punch. Love that color.

Great color choices! I love all of them! Good job. We finished painting our house last week and we used wrought iron for an accent slat wall , classic gray as main color, balboa mist and calm for other rooms and it was beautiful!

People, this is not about you, your taste of that of James. I wouldn't do this in my home either but this is about how to put together a paint colour scheme very well that the client wants and likes. I think James did a fabulous job of giving his clients a wonderful combination and balance of white, grey, and black. The wood floor warms it up and the chrome and glass give it sparkle. Great job James. People think this is easy but I think finding a balance between lights and darks is as difficult to do well as any colour scheme. Love your videos. I love seeing colours come to life in a real home. Would love to see more real time use of paint colours like this one.

Hey love your content! I'd love to see you talk more about what paint colors go well with which floor colors. My personal conundrum is to figure out what paint color to use with cherry/mahogany floors that look so reddish!!
James talks about trilateral colors combination. Red -Green -Yellow. Any palate combo with that would work with reddish floor. For instance, you could go with greenish, GrayOwl or bluish White Stone and to counter balance the green or blue you could use a yellowish like cloud white for trims.
The home is beautiful, tasteful. Your work with grayscale and black/white is perfection. I personally would not like living in a home so lacking in color, but I’m sure being in the actual space is more appealing than it seems on video.

Great job! Great house too! I like a lot of the Magnolia Paint colors. They usually have a Sherwin Williams Color that is the same color, just a different name. If you want to talk about Magnolia Paint Colors or some of the Behr Colors that would be great! I've been thinking about using Behr Jungle Camouflage and Magnolia Paint 1905 Green at my house.

I'm a newcomer, so I am just getting to this video. I'm building a new home, so I now have new ideas. Question? I was thinking of going black door. I have now three colors that I am mulling over: Black Beauty, Railing and Onyx. So this is what I know: BB - dark dark, and will hold its color; Railing, a muted black; and Onyx, black with brown overtones. I can go either way, but want your opinion on how the Railing and Onyx will hold up. Will they fade over time, or change colors? Thanks
I see how all these colors go together but I am not a fan of the cool gray palette. The gray, black and white feels too space age or something. It’s like living in a movie before technicolor. There is so little actual color color. I’m sure the homeowners love it and it’s well done. But we would not be friends.
I love all your videos! This one helped me select Black Beauty Pearl Satin Finish for the beams in my Eichler. I loved the Cloud White but how does that compare with Swiss Coffee for the ceiling and wall colors? Also Hudson Bay for the accent wall in one of the bedrooms is what I'm considering for the exterior siding of my Eichler as well? I want a navy blue that skews towards gray, but definitely don't want the exterior to look purple in any light, any suggestions but keeping with Benjamin Moore?

Hi, I was wondering when painting ceiling, walls and trim the same color (a white color), do you have to apply the method of different sheens as well? If so, recommendations are??? This would be for an 8 ft ceiling home.
I think trim is the easy one; just go satin or semi-gloss. I normally like keeping ceiling flat for most cases, and then matte/eggshell on the walls. You could use matte on walls and ceilings, but there is the slightest sheen, so be aware.
What were the different sheen’s of the walls, trim, and doors in the mud room. I believe you said matte for the iron walls, and satin for the trim, but what was the sheen of the black beauty door?

Lofty open spaces, but all gray, makes me think of prison dayrooms and exercise yards. Even the animal photos look like mug shots!

Color grading on your videos must be incredibly challenging. I can’t imagine all the needs that need to be met.
It's easy! I colour grade everything BUT the paint colours. 🤣
