I actually really like it. Reminds me a lot of Sid Meier's Pirates which I played a ton on the C64. Long, long ago. One of your complaints is the lack of handholding and having to discover places yourself - that is actually part of the fun.
Honesty not a great review, seems like the reviewer had issues with basic mechanics with easy solutions, like trade, makes a huge stink about it even without any of the tools you unlock later Trade goods are super easy, there is a price guide at every market with exact percentages under 100% buy and over 100% sell. (also his issues with good degrading was due to him being far too picky and holding onto good way too long) Big ports better for selling small port better for buying. For a trade sim it is incredibly easy to master. As for his point on the script while it is stiff (not unusual from non English titles) it is far from machine translated (want a good example of what machine translation looks like check fan translations like the one from Path of Wuxia, good game btw)
This game isnt for everybody cause not everybody would like this kind of sailing and trading management gameplay but 5.5 D: What about the exploration aspects of this open world and the rpg mechanics and and what about the story for each character how much does that rate?
one of the worst reviews, a while what i have seen a while, not make any justice for this amazing game, its easily one of the best sailing/pirate/trading simulation games since Sid Meir Pirates. i have played already +30h and its very enjoyable game. world its huge and there is tons to discover. i,m using google maps when navigate the world for this game, its works like charm.
This is actually kinda opposite from my review of the game.. controls are great. Playing on steam deck and its fine no problems at all nothing feels odd about them. For an Asian game I thought translations were going to be bad they're not. Only thing that's annoying is there's no space after the periods. Trading is simple. Way more features than I'd expect. It's about $20. Come on now
Glad to hear the experience is good on steam deck. I was debating if I should get it on playstation(on sale now) or Steam deck. I just found out about the game this past weekend lol.
Thanks for the video awesome as always, i from South America too (Brazil) and play this game was a great time that i think about how the sea exploration is very important to the history of my country!!! So for me this is my game of year for now...
i love machine translation! that means i won't hear those sailor & pirates complaining about wage gap & patriarchy, thanks to those cursed american translators
Sailing RPGs are so few and far between, and they all seem to have the same flaws like crew / officers outright missing or treated like afterthoughts. So I had some hopes for this one. Too bad. This sub-genre is cursed.
Honestly, try it yourself, it's very in depth compared to other sailing games. This reviewer was very harsh imo, the translation isn't that bad (I say this as a professional translator, it is not solely machine translated) and idk why they had to reset their game 12 times, it's not that hard
oh hello ahoy there..do you guys remember the koei UNCHARTED WATER..i believe some of the creator..the way i see and test the game play..design..characters..are ..may be the former staff from KOEI aka TECHMO..during that 3 years covid 19..i believe some of them resigned or retreached or join to a new company which is this one..i feel is true..anyway the game play i assume is great ..much better than Uncharted waters 1 and 4...any way just enjoy...just to share...i m an ex tester for genghis khan2 ..rottk12 dynasty warrior 8 Ps...L emperor koei..in the 80s..thanks
I'm really enjoying this game, it's relaxing. Not many real games out there that bring a level of relaxation while enjoying them.
Really glad you’re having a good time with it!
This feels just like Koei's old Uncharted Waters franchise!
it does, many have pointed it out and say it is a worthy sucessor
UNCHARTED WATERS IN THE 2020s!!!...........sorry, excited a bit 😅
Wishes uncharted water 3 and 4 are in english
How the battle 🤔
I've been waiting for a new Uncharted Waters!

Sid Meier's pirates was excellent
@@ΑναστάσιοςΠαπαζαχαρίου Ah, a man of good taste :)
This game is more like Uncharted waters if anything.

What made you think the battle was turn-based? I saw the steam page and it clearly show the naval combat being real time, not turn-based.
I think he meant the turn based battle as in the close combat and duel combat
@@Wee-Ah-Boo I think it would be better if there was turn base close combat like octopath.

There is currently a Humble Bundle including this game i may grab this one Uncharted Waters like game with octopath aesthetics not bad in my book

LETS GOOOOO
Very nice review! I like it a lot it's very entertaining
The channel, "Douche Games" has a review of this game, which is word for word, an exact copy of this review.
Thanks for letting us know
Actually the game is pretty good, try the demo if you're on the fence after listening to this rant
I hope that this is Spencer imitating Azario's voice (?
Spencer is dead to us.

I played most KOEI game since ROTK2 in PC DOS era!
This game has good cuteness element..but if gameplay is bad as you said...well i will buy darkest dungeon instead
looks like a copy of Uncharted waters 2 New Horizons with better graphics
that game is awesome...exactly what i thought from the store page
Fully agreed! UW New Horizons is one of my favorite Koei's game of all time!
You're in South america? You sound like you're from California.
We have writers all over and usually Azario narrates the review
special meaning in ur region (SA)?? Surely u dont mean nostalgia??????
Edit : not saying this means u cant enjoy the game tho.
sailing era...well, no sh8
Figured. Seems like any overwhelmingly positive review on steam is just because people love overly grindy games.
What? this game never reached overwhelmingly positive on steam.
More uninspired Chinese shovelware
It really isn't...
weeb Sid Meier's Pirates! lmao
An inferior weeb Sid Meier's Pirates. FTFY.
