So are you a lover or a hater of the Seiko monster? If you do like them which one would you buy? There are some pricey ones & limited editions but generally if you're patient you can find them for sensible money. What are your thoughts on them?
i think they are beautifull ❣️ i ve got my first Baby monster a few days ago , from Ebay for 200€, coming from Italy… i d like an orange one ! thanks for the review Adrian 👍👍👍 very nice
Ah yes I saw your baby monster on instagram, very nice & €200 is a pretty good deal. I can definitely see you rocking an orange dial one.👍 Thank you for watching.
I do love the look of the monsters, but I think since I had always gravitated toward other diver designs I’ve never purchased one. I think I would just end up wearing other divers that I own. Seems like finding a great deal on them can still be had if you are patient. Great vid Adrian! 😎🍻👍
I have to admit that as much as I like this one & it will stay in the collection it does take 2nd place to my Samurai's so I can relate to where you're coming from as far as not getting one. Yes deals can be had but patients is the key. Thanks for watching man much appreciated. 👍🍻😊
Thanks my brother. Yes I know these aren't for everyone I like them enough to have a couple in the collection but my preference is definitely the samurai.👍
Great video ny friend & G'morning ☕☕ .. Good food for thought for sure & yes, I definitely need to add a Monster (2nd or 3rd gen) to my collection. I already have an orange Pepsi 6309 turtle and a yellow or purple dial 6309 would be nice but a monster would be nicer for sure 😎 ..
Good morning to you, & thanks for stopping by. The 2nd gen is certainly going to be the easier (& cheaper) one to pickup as I mentioned those 3rd gen with the 6r15 movement command some crazy prices. It seems as though we followed a similar route with Seiko divers my first was a yellow dial 6309 before moving on to a Samurai & then another & then a monster.....& well you get the picture haha
@@somewhereintimewatchreviews ha ha, right 😋 . B4 my seiko it was a Haemmer ND-02 navy Diver, then an Aragon divemaster, seiko turtle & an Orient Ray ll . Maybe a Samurai will be next followed by a monster 🤔 . Sounds good to me 😋
No mate the Prospex monsters are all the same size the lug to lug is nice & short though so they don't wear too big. My wife happily wears this one because of the short lug to lug.
Its always worth trying one on thats really the only way to tell if a watch is right for you or not. You can watch all the reviews & read as many blog posts as you can find but there's no substitute for actual hands on.
Excellent video Adrian looking at the Monster. I'm a big Monster fan - and always regret not buying one of the following 3rd generation when they first came out, and before the prices shot up: Ice Monster, Jade Monster or Blue Coral Monster. These had the 6R15 movement and steel bezels. I always have liked the Sea Monster - great that you have one. And I like the Black Ion Monster - which looks great in black and gold with a gold crown. I just missed out on a Dracula Monster about 18 months ago, that was going for a very good price - unfortunately someone else beat me to it!! So for me I've yet to catch a Monster of my liking - but one day a monster will be mine!! Maybe even the pretty little Tubbataha Reef - though this one is very scarce and hard to net! But if captured I think it would make a great summer watch!!
Ah yes the illusive 3rd gen monster! They are very pricey, I have occasionally seen the jade monster come up on ebay usually £600 + though if only we had known when they were released the old "should'a would'a could'a" haha 😄 you're right about the black ion with the gold though a very striking watch. I do like some of the new 4th gen specials too the new frost monster & the Arctic STO are very cool I may be tempted to pick one of those up when they inevitably get the "special offer" treatment with some of the online AD's Thanks for watching.
I love the look and aesthetic. I suppose I’d always assumed it was massive - but must admit I’ve never tried one. Thanks for the vid - an excuse for me to try one now :)
They do wear smaller than thier name would suggest & there's always good reason to try out new watches haha although the Prospex monster should not be confused with the Seiko5 sports "baby monster" they actually are pretty huge at 45mm × 50mm Thank you for watching.
Coincidently, I started looking into monsters about 3 days ago, and the your video pops up. I will be looking into the homages first. My two worries where the size and the weight. This video puts me at ease over the size. What's the weight like?
Haha its as if I knew you were looking! 😆 the weight on the aftermarket bracelet is 173g I would think its pretty much the same on a stock seiko bracelet & I would guess around 110g on a silicone band. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching.
Monsters are definitely love 'em or hate 'em watches but even then you can get to a point where only certain ones appeal. With the Save The Ocean Antarctica, I'm absolutely smitten but I don't like all the range
Nice Sea Monster sir! 😁 I let mine go a while back. Not that I didn't like it, I sometimes wish I'd hung onto it but at one point I had around fifteen or so different models. Some of the second gens were very similar like the Sea, the black dial, the Black Ion. I found some were just sitting in the watch box so when I decided to reduce my collection to a more manageable size 😂The Monsters were the first to go. Mainly because they are so easy to sell. My biggest regrets are The 3rd gen Jade and Orange I hung onto the Frost thank goodness! The Sea Monster and the Vampire. Those rubber straps are nasty but I do really like the Monster bracelets. They have the typical pressed clasp but I find them very solid and comfortable and they fit the watches nicely without the need of a milled end link.
Oh wow 15 monsters!! Yeah thats a lot haha. Those 3rd gen fetch some crazy prices & hanging on to the frost monster was a good call such a cool looking watch. The bracelets are not too bad apart from the pressed clasp & the latest ones if they come on a silicone strap thankfully they've vastly improved i had one with a samurai & its actually really nice & very comfortable. Thanks for watching mate. 👍
SPP538, a second gen was my first Monster. 2nd gen for the win! I also have a SRP311..! I guessing your watch on a REAL timegrapher 😂 would be better, although I can't confirm the accuracy of the phone app!
I think I would have to agree with that, the 2nd gen is my favourite as well with the possible exception of the new STO Arctic dial that's a great looking watch. Thanks for watching.👍
Ah so you have a love/hate thing with the Seiko! I can understand that & I hear good things about those Heimdallr's personally I prefer the originals but understand why people like them. Thanks for watching.👍
I love Seiko monster watches but imho you can only call it a monster if it has the 2nd gen teeth, lol, sadly the last monsters had squared off markers that don't look monsterish at all..just my opinion.

Definitely a fan of the new Gen 4 variants. The new all black variants I think look awesome! Love me a good monster! Great video bud 😊🍻
Some of the gen4 monsters are fantastic the Arctic STO is stunning.
Thanks for the support man.🙏👊

Great video man!!
Thank you Miguel.🙏👍
I like the 4th gen because its a more subtle "Monster", but that one you have looks great, maybe less aggressive because its in black and blue
Interesting observation! I hadn't thought of it like that.🤔 thanks for watching mate.
Nice one bro,
As you know I’m not a ‘Monster’ fan but I can see the appeal for sure.
Great video as always 👏👏

Very nicely done mate. Definitely a fan of the colour of this piece. Do they make a slightly smaller one?

Yes that Antarctica STO has an amazing dial. But you're right the monster really does seem to be a "Marmite" watch.

Love the Monster but hate the Resell, that's why I opted for Heimdallr Monsters as an alternative 😏😎

Where did you get that bracelet that's on your sea monster? Looks almost like a beads of rice but better on that watch
It came from Amazon I've had that bracelet probably for around 3yrs I have no idea if they still sell it.
