thank you so much for the tutorial!! I wanted to recreate that bag myself but was not sure where to start. I think I'll sew 2 squares together to add a lining :)
Sounds like a great idea to make it thicker! I just tried with a slightly thicker fabric and made it 2 layers (about 26" on one side) and well... it is living its best life as a cute little fabric bowl because I couldn't make full straps haha. Try making it on the larger side if you make it thicker so the straps will be long enough after the knot is tied!
@@dagnyarizona oh thank you for the feedback! I always find it tricky to pick the right fabric for my projects (mainly clothing) it never drapes or moves like I had imagined. I'll reach out to you on insta to send you a pic, I actually saw a version of The Row bag that uses the same thin serger stitch that you did on the cotton version, they used 2 different colors for the bag and the lining, it looks great. Maybe that was your inspiration? I also have a serger, it makes me want to try that version :)
I like the way the bag looks, but I would find it hard to dig around, plus the shape would change depending on the objects/weight, I think a half moon shape firm insert from felt would make the inside functional while the bag could still keep its exterior form unchanged
Hi, looking for tango walking technique videos I came across you. I fell immediately in love with your gentle way of teaching. It inspires me. This bag is a good birthday present for my dear tango friend I am invited to on Saturday. Do you also sew tango clothes? A DIY would be great. Love from Uta in Munich /Germany
Aw thank you so much for this sweet comment! I do sew tango clothes and used to sell them back when we were all traveling to festivals 😅 That is a great video idea! I will keep it in mind 😁
thank you so much for this tutorial! I love the Ascot bag but thought it was way too expensive... so happy I can make my own at a portion of the price!
I do already have that in the description but I will feature it more prominently. Since this bag got popularized in mainstream western fashion by The Row and likely do not know that term, people cannot search for a tutorial of what they do not know and therefore it is titled as such.
Updated! I also added an old video in which I talk about reducing waste for present wrapping and feature furoshiki. If there is anything relevant you think would be appropriate to add let me know!

Hi, I’m not entirely understanding the question. What is puv material?
@@dagnyarizona I'm sorry... Texting mistake...it's PU leather.

furoshiki
Yes! 😁
Dope
Thank you 😁
what size of cloth did you use for the small sati bag?
Hi, the small satin is 26” x 26” and the large one is 36” x 36”. There are more details in the description :)
love your videos honey, next time I say you should do it with #dupbags , it's my honest recommendation! Peace out! Much love
Ik mis de maten van de tas heel jammer
This is an age old Japanese traditional method called Furoshiki... as it should be credited!
