I know you were excited about the bread bin but you could return it and save space (and avoid waste) by freezing your bread, crumpets etc. I just defrost the slices in the microwave as and when i need bread or chuck in the toaster from frozen.
I would strongly recommend putting one of those rubber bumper dots on either the fridge door or the wood that it’s hitting! You may not be flinging those doors open right now but the first time you do you’ll wind up with a lovely dent and scratch 😅 (speaking from experience here lol)
The fridge needed to stand for a while because it allows the liquid coolant to settle after it was laid down to change the door orientation - although most times it's recommended because they are normally tipped/jostled during delivery! Highly recommend Warburton's bagel thins to solve the bagel dilemma -stick the pack in the freezer and pull out as needed, separate the two halves and stick em in the toaster to defrost/toast. They last forever, even if you're a one bagel a week kind of girlie like me 😅
Looks amazing! You can buy strips of wood veneer to cover up the gap by the fridge. Or you could go crazy and buy a strip of LED lights to stick there and have a cool light feature! Also, if you’re painting samples you can buy some lining paper (or take some off the roll in B&Q) and paint your samples onto them and stick them on the wall, then you don’t have to worry about painting over them later. Also really handy for moving them around to see how the colour changes in different lights 😊
It's probably too late now but I feel like the old TV storage unit could've been perfect for Rowan's room. It's low enough for him to reach the shelves and drawers, and the top could be used as a table or bench.
This is delightful! I think your collective style, though, might be "Hannah Witton brand colors" 😂 Which is not a bad thing, it's a great palette, but as you were going through the colors I was like "this feels familiar" 😂 So much fun to watch!
Short girl with a tall fridge here, my advice for the top shelves would be: clear containers with a handle in the front! That way you can pull out the entire thing, bring it down, take what you need and put it back without stuff getting lost at the back of the fridge or being out of reach! Also, easier to clean a container than the entire shelf when you have spills. Lidl often has some 'fridge organizers' for a few euros and they work really well for that.
Highly recommend getting the IKEA fridge turntable (snurrad) for the top shelf of the fridge. It makes it possible to reach the stuff at the back really easily.
If you need more storage I feel like there is the opportunity for those skinny shoe cabinets on your hallway since it’s pretty wide. They take so little space and are great to keep everything, not just shoes.
A little tip for anyone who got inspired to paint their walls (highly recommend doing it! It can change a space soo much!) Cover your swatches with white paint before you paint the entire wall in your chosen colour! :)
The excitement when I realised we now have the same fridge 😂🥶 We’ve had it for a year now and it’s just as amazing as we thought it would be! We are also a family of 3 (soon to be 4!) with a small child and it’s perfect (despite the fact that I’m also vertically challenged 😅)
12:48 I love the energy and the dancing ❤ very cute, totally get your excitement about changes in furniture and things. My hallway is the opposite right now, since I am renovating one of the rooms. Can't wait until it's finished, I might do a dance too. 😊
This video brought me so much joy! At first, I was nervous about how the yellow paint would look (and I couldn't quite process that particular shade of yellow), and then when you showed the process of painting and the finished room it was such a wonderful surprise - the whole room is vivid yet not overwhelming, it's so warm and inviting! It was so, so sweet to witness Rowan's exclamation at the new cabinetry. Also such a pleasure to see how you and Dan work together and approach challenges in such collaborative and creative ways. Thank you for sharing this journey with us :)
This is the content that I crave. New fridge! Bins!! As the owner of a fridge that is slightly too large so the door doesn’t open all the way, it’s mostly fine except for when (as you discovered) you want to move the shelves around or fully take out the drawer. It will end up with a dent on it where it hits the doorframe though, accept this into your heart
Love the renovation! My partner and I recently got a new fridge we had been dreaming about for ages (with more freezer space) so I really identified with that part. Three weeks on and I'm still admiring it 😂
7:10 the compressor in your fridge has oil in it for lubrication, and sometimes during transport some of that oil will leak into the refrigerant lines, which is no good. Waiting to turn it on after installation allows any oil to settle back out of there and back into the compressor.
Leena said in the video premiere that it is possible for creators to have multiple thumbnails to see which ones perform best. In case you did that (and didn't just change from a great thumbnail to an ehhh one, personal opinion here), I have been seeing the one with the before and after and just now saw the one where you and Dan stand in front of that yellow wall. I prefer the one with the before and after (or possibly a combination), because it kind of fits the video better (if you haven't seen the video and don't know that there will be a yellow wall)
Wow! I loved this transformation and feel so inspired to give my own home a pop of colour. I would be scared to combine these colours but it's working so well for your space. Lovely!
Oh my goodness, I laughed so hard when the shelf fell! Perfect comedic timing. I also COMPLETELY relate to your struggle to get the shelves back in-- I've gone through that too and it's not fun! And your home looks amazing!!!!!
I saw those swatches in the backroung of some older video, and I thougt "oh my God, they are going to have yellow living room! Well, am I really suprised?" I couldn't wait for this renovation vlog 😊
Excited for you, the room looks great 🌻 Maybe one day you could pull your games out and give a little speil about your favourite ones? Id love to see something like that ☺️
I'm curious how you went from the house purchase falling through to deciding to stay put for another 2-3 years rather than continuing the search. What made you change your plans so much?
Ahh lovely! My husband and I were chatting this morning and the function of your home has to change sooooo much when you have kids, in ways you dont realise! We had our kitchen re done this year cos it just couldn't cope with 4 people using it anymore.
A happy colour and extra storage 👌 oh! You can search for one of those tables that can be small and it can turn to 3 times longer or bigger they fold to be smaller, I at least found them pretty useful. Also I don't know if you like that but you can put the bookshlefs in the hallway like a library
Love this video! I also have a yellow wall in my livingroom/kitchen and it was the best decision I could have made. Absolutely necissary because of the lack of natural light in the space. Although in combination with other colours in the space my boyfriend calls the style 'exploding rainbow' ;)
What an incredible transformation!!!! I love everything about it! And I love that Dan’s color choices are perfectly in keeping with the Hannah Witton (TM) color palette 💛🧡💙
7:50 for the cork bit in the kitchen, you could get some simple trim from a hardware store to cover it up or edge band it using a household iron. LOVING the colourful room. :D I adore colours, they make me happy and I wish more people would choose to go bold with colour palettes. 10/10 My bedroom as a 15 year old when I first posted TH-cam videos was yellow and ngl it was great for lighting videos. Haha. I am also always looking for more clever hacks and ideas for better organizing and arranging stuff around the house, especially when different roommates of ours move in and out and we have different needs. Love the satisfaction of when one thing moves and other things find better places. Optimizing for current needs ftw!
I so relate to your excitement about moving things around and selling the freezer. We also love in a smallish flat and everything contributes to it working better!!! 😂🎉❤
Depending on your hallway width you could really leverage that for more storage and maybe even a fold down desk if you need one! Had that revelation in my current rented flat - hallway often underused! :)
You two could have a murphy bed done in the bedroom, and have a home office by day/bedroom by night convert too. Then you and dan have a bedroom and office and child's room. I bet you could find a bunch of foldable pu away toys that could be taken out into the hall for a makeshift playroom to expand children's room too.
I’ve got a rec for a great kitchen caddy that hangs over a bottom cabinet door & has a 2-way lid if you’re interested - you can bush things right off the counter /butchers block straight into the caddy!!
23:52 I was just thinking that you looked really good even though you’re wearing black as a spring! I think some springs have a level of contrast high enough that black can work, like me I’m a bright spring so I can wear a warm black and look good
24:00 i was just thinking you looked absolutely gorgeous but i couldn’t place why - the black really makes your features pop, especially your eyes! also thank you for being so real and positive throughout this whole transformation, put me in a good mood too :)
Such a fun makeover. At the beginning the year I also realised I would have to stay in my current apartment for another few years and subsequently started to decorate the space nice and colourful to cope with the frustration of having to live in a part of the city that I really don't wanna live on
I love the bright living room! If we ever get around to painting our living room it will be a bold blue with a red or orange sofa. We'll see, I have doubts.
I looked up the Etsy place on a whim as i'm local and turns out they are based 2 minutes across the road from where I work. Definitely going to give them a look as we've just moved in to a new house so thanks!
Looks amazing! Friendly reminder that bread can be frozen, works great if you intend to toast it, and pretty fine if you just eat it after defrosting it for like 5/10 minutes.
Just at the beginning but I have to comment that foldable kitchen/toddler towers exist! We have one and it was sooo worth the little bit of extra cost to get a foldable one for our smaller apartment
Love the transformation! On one of the other vlogs you were having a clothes clear out - I think you could fit another slim wardrobe next to the existing one in the bedroom for even more storage or long dresses/coats!
It looks amazing!!! 😍🤩🧡💛💙 Yellow for the toddler tower was definitively the better choice, good on them for sending the wrong color. Were you and Dan the perfect fit for each other or have you successfully influenced him to like those colors? 😂
This is so satisfying to see! A little slice of amazing organization adult decoration excitement 🥰 It somehow brings me so much joy seeing it all come together. All those storage solutions!!!!
We’re having our kitchen re done early next year and I cannot wait! Looking forward to organising it all, such an adult thing 😅. Love the colour combinations! love your videos and excited for the next chapter for you career wise ❤
If ever you wanna fill in that little bit of exposed board by the fridge, most b&qs will cut wood down to size for you so you could just have a little bit of wood cut and paint it.
wouldnt there be space in the hallway for storage? very common where I live in germany to have a closet in your hallway for closed storage depending how deep the hallway is some also use slimmer storage solutioons
i recently painted my room bright yellow and dark brown and ive been loving it !! so glad you also have a beautiful yellow wall :) the room is looking amazing
I’m basically using Gloomhaven and Frosthaven as a side table in my apartment now so I love that your shelves are able to accommodate the giganticness of it!!!
Your style is like the opposite of “sad beige mums” it’s so bright and happy!! Also supposedly super good for childrens’ development!!
I know you were excited about the bread bin but you could return it and save space (and avoid waste) by freezing your bread, crumpets etc. I just defrost the slices in the microwave as and when i need bread or chuck in the toaster from frozen.

i do all of my bread this way. I'm going to toast it anyway and can't keep it fresh otherwise
YES - as a single girl who shops for one this is a must. I make bread and bagels last for as long as two months this way.
The colours just radiate happiness! I feel like this would be such a fun environment for working from home 😊
Looks amazing! You can buy strips of wood veneer to cover up the gap by the fridge. Or you could go crazy and buy a strip of LED lights to stick there and have a cool light feature! The organization of this entire transformation is soooo satisfying!
Highly recommend getting the IKEA fridge turntable (snurrad) for the top shelf of the fridge. It makes it possible to reach the stuff at the back really easily.
i was just about to comment “HANNAH YOU LOOK SO GOOD IN BLACK” and then immediately you commented on how you’re not supposed to wear black
I think it works because of how dark her eyes are - I thought it looked nice as well!
She looked hotttt!
100000%, she looks sooo good in black!
I was SO afraid of the bright yellow (as if it was my living room, lol) but it turned out so nice and cozy! 😮🎉
If you need more storage I feel like there is the opportunity for those skinny shoe cabinets on your hallway since it’s pretty wide. They take so little space and are great to keep everything, not just shoes.
i feel like its wide enough for Billy Bookcases even!
You can keep bread in in the freezer and toast slices as you need them. Then you never have to worry about it going mouldy.
Maybe use the hallway for some narrow shelves for books as the unit in the living room looks quite full already.
Love the home renovation content; really made me happy!!
12:48 I love the energy and the dancing ❤ very cute, totally get your excitement about changes in furniture and things. My hallway is the opposite right now, since I am renovating one of the rooms. Can't wait until it's finished, I might do a dance too. 😊

I love this type of video! The ‘charging zone’ is so cool! What a great idea!
toddlers are so underrated, they are THE CUTEST!! 😆 "wow!"
ps you're such a cheerful chap Hannah, love it! ☺️
This is the content that I crave. New fridge! Bins!!

You could glue some mosaic on the exposed wood/cork in a fun color or just match the oven/fridge
the room looks very cohesive!! well done guys! ❤
23:52 I was just thinking to myself how lovely you look in that top and you read my mind! I'm very pro black clothes no matter your colour palette 🤩
hannah your commitment to colour is fantastic. i would take your living room in a heartbeat :)
21:42 a drawer within a drawer is defo my fave
oh that's such a nice set up! The yellow is so jovial and bright - love it!!
Love that the tree outside changed colour to match the new wall
Love the renovation! My partner and I recently got a new fridge we had been dreaming about for ages (with more freezer space) so I really identified with that part. Three weeks on and I'm still admiring it 😂

That entertainment unit is great! Admittedly to my surprise, that yellow wall looks wonderful.
The space really looks like it's yours now. That custom entertainment unit whole wall cabinet has so much storage space.
It's so lovely! Love the butcher block!! Those colors compliment each other so well; your hubby really is a design genius :D
Wow! I loved this transformation and feel so inspired to give my own home a pop of colour. I would be scared to combine these colours but it's working so well for your space. Lovely!

You have a massive hall storage along the wall maybe brilliant vid 👍
I saw those swatches in the backroung of some older video, and I thougt "oh my God, they are going to have yellow living room! Well, am I really suprised?" I couldn't wait for this renovation vlog 😊
Excited for you, the room looks great 🌻

Absolutely loved your joy in this! 💛
Rowan's shock at new cabinets, dropping his book and shouting wow 😭😭😭🥺🥺🥺
He's such a cutie :)
Wearing all black to use yellow paint, I love the boldness 😆 Wall looks great!
I'm curious how you went from the house purchase falling through to deciding to stay put for another 2-3 years rather than continuing the search. What made you change your plans so much?
I hate yellow, and don't love primary colors generally, but this space feels like you and I love it so much for you!
wow everything came together so beautifully
Ahh lovely! My husband and I were chatting this morning and the function of your home has to change sooooo much when you have kids, in ways you dont realise! We had our kitchen re done this year cos it just couldn't cope with 4 people using it anymore.

I wasn't sure about the yellow but when you put the furniture and artwork back it really worked
the sound and the face when the fridge shelf fell was hilarious and had me in stitches 😂😂
I bloody LOVE it 🤩
Been waiting for this video! I love the bold colors 😍
Depending on your hallway width you could really leverage that for more storage and maybe even a fold down desk if you need one! Had that revelation in my current rented flat - hallway often underused! :)
You were looking so gorg in the black hannah!
You two could have a murphy bed done in the bedroom, and have a home office by day/bedroom by night convert too. Then you and dan have a bedroom and office and child's room. Me with my beige, rosé and neutral aesthetic could NEVER hahahah but it truly suits you so much
23:52 I was just thinking that you looked really good even though you’re wearing black as a spring! I think some springs have a level of contrast high enough that black can work, like me I’m a bright spring so I can wear a warm black and look good

This is so cool! We got a bespoke TV/storage unit - a few months later we got a new telly...it didn't fit...
oh dear...

you should definitely wear black as much as you want, it does look great on you 😊 love the living room transformation! congratulations!
I looked up the Etsy place on a whim as i'm local and turns out they are based 2 minutes across the road from where I work. Definitely going to give them a look as we've just moved in to a new house so thanks!
what a delight to watch! this just made me very happy 🧡
My living room is yellow too! Someone once told me it’s good for deep thinking, but I’m also mostly chilling 😂
Bread stays good for months in my fridge! It gets a little dry after a while but doesn’t go off!
Looks amazing! Friendly reminder that bread can be frozen, works great if you intend to toast it, and pretty fine if you just eat it after defrosting it for like 5/10 minutes.
yeah don't have room in the freezer anymore for frozen bread unfortunately!
Just at the beginning but I have to comment that foldable kitchen/toddler towers exist! We have one and it was sooo worth the little bit of extra cost to get a foldable one for our smaller apartment
Love the transformation! On one of the other vlogs you were having a clothes clear out - I think you could fit another slim wardrobe next to the existing one in the bedroom for even more storage or long dresses/coats!
i am so obsessed! this makes me want to add to much more color to my home 💛
that wall colour is beautiful 😍 i love the choice of colours you have guys have for everything. its so vibrant and cheerful ❤
Beautiful space that is an accurate reflection of you and how you represent yourself in your videos. Thank you for sharing 💛
It looks amazing!!! 😍🤩🧡💛💙 Yellow for the toddler tower was definitively the better choice, good on them for sending the wrong color. Were you and Dan the perfect fit for each other or have you successfully influenced him to like those colors? 😂

I use ours as a plant stand! 😆
I love all of this! We also live in a smaller home and you have given me so many ideas to help our place feel like home and maximise space!!!
What a great transformation 🎉 And your energy! ❤
Loved this video. What a transformation!
Love the joy of this video! Everything looks great! 💛
absolutely love the transformation
Your flat looks like it belongs on The Circle now!
This was SO MUCH FUN.
Love the colours.
Love the bold colours
Nice job on the makeover! I've been thinking it for years and have to say it - Dan has an Estonian Doppelgänger, actor Tambet Tuisk. Look him up 😂
Loved watching this, plus on 2x speed it's just 2x joyness!
