    Great Video!! We scored some purple varnish clams by Nehalem, what are your thoughts on a cleaning/cooking video? Keep them coming!!

      David Handorff, congrats on your purple varnish haul. Nehalem is great for them. I’ll be camping there next month and plant to get some myself. I hope to do a cleaning and cooking video then too.
      For the purple varnish cleaning and cooking, depends on what you want to do with them. They can be purged in salt water over night and then cooked like steamers, or you can clean them out manually and Cooke them up. Pretty tasty!

      Let the clams stand in a pail of fresh water overnight to allow them to throw out all dirt inside of them.
