How to Peel an Orange the Easy Way!

I'll show you a quick, clean, and fun way to peel an orange without any special tools (utensil free)! Credit to my dad for teaching me this method when I was a wee little lad. Steps below:
1) Find a thin line on either top or bottom of the orange. It might be really really faint but it's there.
2) Make a tear in the skin along the line and spread open the orange. Work along the tear if the skin is thick.
3) Tear each half into quarters.
4) Separate wedges from the skin.

I was just peeling an orange by biting the end off when my wife said, "Cut it into 4ths" I told her that if I cut it into 4ths I would cut some of the wedges. I decided to Google who was right & I think we both were. Thanks for the great video! :-)

I'm not pregnant but am still impressed by this method. Very clever to correlate the lines with the wedges, I was surprised when trying it and the orange opened up perfectly (used a knife to make the initial small cut though, my nails are too short). Thanks for the quick life-improvement!

idk what type of oranges i have but mine r genetically mutated so its very hard to do this with the symmetricality of your orange. sucks to suck i guess. the way i do it is peel a strip in the middle with my thumb and slowly peel back the whole outer half and use it as a plate as well.

Dude, the oranges skin is softer on the ends. You could just start peeling it off from there. Or just roll the orange on a surface for a bit (to soften the peel) and peel it off.

lol I bet that kid from beyond scared straight saw this video before he got on there.
I halved them successfully but after that it just got downright sloppy trying to quarter them so I just went all in like a starving savage and devoured the orange segments along w/ the pith...had to floss afterwards LMAO
