Unlike the hedgehogs, he had a portion of power from the Master Emerald, which allowed him to perform that mysterious transformation. Knuckles stopped crying, opened his eyes and punched the floor. The seismic wave caused the hedgehogs to lose the Emeralds, giving the echidna the opportunity to take the seven stones for himself. Then, he glided in the monster’s direction, quickly defeated it without any help and glided out of the cave, leaving Sonic, Silver and Shadow alone, crying for their failure.
