If we are talking anything is possible kind of thought process. I would have to say .." sawing a massive diamond in half visually with a playing card would be pretty fantastic ... Then dropping both half's into a shot glass of water and pouring out the solid diamond !!
As a complete amateur, I've used that first move as a control on several occasions (to do a "tell me when to stop - okay, put your card right on top" move), and I've never been called on it. I personally like to quickly grab a few cards from the deck when I put the first one back on top and do a little riffle - makes it look like you actually riffled the "other half" of the deck onto the top. Very nice move to share.
Fantastic work! I’ve been at my local coffee shop and I’ve performed the trick you posted a few days ago where you have the pieces of paper in the coffee cup, LIGHTS OUT when people saw that. It blew people away. I gave you the credit of course, hopefully that will result in some subs here on TH-cam. If I could saw anything in half AND restore it....a ceramic coffee mug 🎼☕️
Good trick. I like the idea of using the bluff pass for the selection of a card. I usually only use it for the replacement of a selected card. I will try the illogical double lift today on my harshest critic (my middle son). If it flies by him it will fly by anyone. Thanks for the tutorial Jay.
Hey Jay, thanks for this video. It's awesome that you are willing to share so much of your work with all of us. I think I'd saw in half the European Union. Just kidding, lol.... Probably my sofa, so I can avoid people looking over my shoulder when I watch you tutorials. :)
Hey I have always been into magic but have always had really bad anxiety but lately I've been really working hard to learn as much as I can and I've been watching many different magicians on TH-cam you quickly became my favorite one but I digress lol I was commenting to let you know I don't mind if I missed the contest that's not what I'm here for I'm here to start branching out and doing stuff I normally wouldn't and noticed you always ask a question so I figured I would answer them (again contest or no) and I would choose a tv
Im currently working on a "mini stage show" for my close up that takes a bunch of big illusions and does them to cards. I am working on where I Saw a card in half and put it back together
Thinking i would saw one of my guitars in half and restore it. People that know me knows my guitars mean some of the most to me. Thank you for your videos!
I'm looking forward to getting to know you better. I have a new job that woke up the person that I am. And that is being a taxi driver instead of being in the trades. Finding a way to make a living and being happy doing so is hard to find. The money isn"t good but the people interaction, is an awakening. To learn this trade(sleight of hand) and combine it with driving a taxi can add to extra coin. I run into homeless people all the time and at a point I ask the person, yes I ask the person if you could show me a card trick or dance or even sing a song..I'd give you the money you asked for. So now I translate this into my own live and I see that I may be able to entertain and make money too.
🍌 Banana!!! That’s rights! I said it! A Banana! I’d saw it in half with a razor blade under close up conditions and then miraculously restore it! Then! Peel it and eat it leaving all that watch....... speechless!!!! 😶. Thank you for the opportunity to compete in the contest... it is much appreciated! Sankey MAGIC babyyyyyyy!!!!
I’d saw my deck of cards in half... Torn and Restored...52 times!!! Serious question for you I’m a late start learner (and doing cards because it’s an inexpensive way to begin)- how long did it take you to become proficient in your slights? I’m trying to get the pass and the DPS, but it’s clunky so far and I’m a few weeks in. Thanks!!! Oh. And my daughter loved the dime in a wrapper from a few weeks ago!!!
Jay, can I ask a question? I have tried many times these card slides and they really dont work well for me. I have tried new card packs and old ones. Would you suggest spraying the cards thinly with some polish so they slide better?
I'm a male magician and I find it much more fun to be sawn than to saw. Of course my favorite time we used a live chainsaw and it took having five separate safety steps to let me feel willing to let that saw anywhere near my legs - but with that confidence, there's nothing like it.
I usually do a quick revolution cut in order to hide the 'card' they signed on. I do this when I tell then to turn over the card It hides it pretty well
Hi jay, great tutorial, i would saw a ring too small for someones finger in half then restore it to the correct size. Looking forward to your next tutorial
Haha, I figured you might like Moby esp. with the Fatboy Slim reference in the beginning of the video. My fav Fatboy Slim video is “weapon of choice” with Chris Walken in the video. Thanks for all the cool tutorials bro they are appreciated greatly!
I would have to saw in half something quite in depth like a car. to be able to see everything, then have it back together and have it run would be amazing
To answer the question; I think it would be kinda cool to cut through a signed playing card or coin and restore it so you can pass it to the spectator for inspection
Mike here and I wanted to learn some great slight of hand tricks. How about sawing a piece of fruit in two and magically bring it back together. Something like a banana or an orange.
Imagine, glass being sawed in half and it not being cracked, and restoring it, and showing with a hammer, breaking it and showing that it’s real glass, that would be amazing
I would saw someone's phone in half (sure to get screams from the owner and maybe the audience) and then the restoration would be absolutely fantastic!
If we are talking anything is possible kind of thought process. I would have to say .." sawing a massive diamond in half visually with a playing card would be pretty fantastic ... Then dropping both half's into a shot glass of water and pouring out the solid diamond !! Just a thought. May actually try to work this one out now lol cheers
I would saw someone's shoes in half, people today care about them as much as they do their car or even another person, so if you could successfully make someone think you have destroyed their shoes, (when in reality you haven't) the expression on their face before during and after would be priceless!
I'd have a transparent tank of colored water on stage, with a garden hose attached and water flowing out (with the tank volume level visibly decreasing) and into another transparent tank (visibly increasing) across the stage. The garden hose would then go into a "sleeve/box" on a table which would be cut in half...with the water still flowing...and then the garden hose restored and it (and the blade) being fully examinable.
Hmm tricky. Although it's been done a gazillion times, I always thought a large part of the appeal was the "danger" element, you know, saw + lady = half lady, blood, guts etc etc. So, I think there would still have to be a danger element. My initial thought was an alligator but I don't think the animal would enjoy it, so maybe something electrical, like a live transformer or a Tesla coil with a giant circular saw. So the sawing part of the act would have lots of noise like electrical humming, the giant cutting disk spinning, sparks and cool stuff like that and as the final part of the cut goes through, a massive bang and all the lights go out. I may have got a little carried away with this idea but it looks cool in my head lol.
I would saw food! Specifically pizza because everyone knows pizza and how it’s cut into triangles so being able to put it back together could be powerful
I would like to saw a dog in a half because the dog is cute and most people find dogs lovable and yes cute. It will hurt their feelings and break their heart seeing a cute, lovable dog saw in half. I think playing with feelings is great trick specially when it ends in happy ending hehe

Jay, if I were President and could cut anything in half, it would be our debt!
I'd saw a large puppy in half.
If we are talking anything is possible kind of thought process. I would have to say .." sawing a massive diamond in half visually with a playing card would be pretty fantastic ... Then dropping both half's into a shot glass of water and pouring out the solid diamond !!
And finally, I'm a winner! Thanks Jay! I have so many people to thank...
Yesssss!
I don’t know what I love more, this awesome trick or the great photos you have on your wall! I would love to see someone saw a bar of gold!
I appreciate a change in tone here. I like your channel's evolution.
Thanks mang. It's not really a purposeful thang. I just keep making slightly different choices for various reasons. #organic
@@SankeyMagic that's definitely how it feels.

Thanks Alex. Truly appreciate it.

Living within the connection. Taxi drivers can be brilliant at that. Enjoy and celebrate your new found wisdom. Happy for you.
