Yes, they've got a fanatical world wide fan base. They just dropped a music video and most Sabaton fans cannot wait for it to be performed live in Moscow.
This was epic, I get chills every time I see this video (propably over 100 times) and I was there. This one is one of their more emotional songs. And it's always educational because almost every song is about historical events and persons and they try to be as accurate as possible. They have Sabaton History Channel where they tells more about the stories they are singing about.
as a side note here, Joakim was asked in an interview once (or maybe more) if they own a tank and he answered no, we actually have two. :P one is called Audie and the other Walter.
Great reaction! Nice thing about them is that their video's never blocked so it's TH-cam safe. (except for some Wacken video's that gets blocked by Wacken) If you really want to go down the Sabaton rabbit-hole, I would recommend these: (These are all from the Sabaton Channel, and they never block videos so it's safe to use) [live at Woodstock 2012]: Ghost Division, 40:1 and Uprising [Great Tour Live Videos]: Red Baron, Swedish Pagans, Primo Victoria, Fields of Verdun, Devil Dogs & Angels Calling [Lyric videos]: Attack of the dead men, In Flanders Fields, 82nd All the way, Sparta, Shiroyama and The lost betallion [Music Video's]: Bismarck, Defence of Moscow, Livgardet (make sure to turn subtitles on), Fields of Verdun, Rourke's Drift, Screaming Eagles, Uprising & Seven Pillars of wisdom [Animated History Video's]: Night Witches and No Bullets Fly (not animated music video's, the animated history/story video's) [Covers]: Kingdom Come - Deliverance and I'm sure people told you but in case, Sabaton have another channel (Sabaton History Channel) where they do a deep dive into the history behind the songs with Indy Nidell. Then they have the Metal celebration trilogy: Metal Machine (lyrics made up of out of song names) th-cam.com/video/AvRZxn7e3hc/w-d-xo.html Metal Crüe (lyrics made up out of band names) th-cam.com/video/6bKwflpbCYk/w-d-xo.html Metal Ripper (lyrics made up out of song lyrics) th-cam.com/video/FQNVraMtNes/w-d-xo.html
When asked why Sabaton does so many songs about war and conflict, Joakim answered, "There are so many stories out there that are forgotten and do not deserve to. Why then should we make shit up?" There are those who as we speak are trying to erase our history and separate us from our past, and to no good end. We cannot allow that to happen.
If you want to react more Sabaton stuff i'd recommend No Bullets Fly or Night Witches (if you are into the hiostory stuff as well there are animated story videos with their songs at the end ... it's not too detailed but very interesting) or bismarck is a quite popular one to start with... thanks for the sabaton reaction :D
The animated STORY version is epic. I just love Sabaton so much. They are a great band. The members are down to earth funny and they are great musicians.
This song is about the 30 year war. Back then land owners and Lords had to provide men and weapons for the war. They usually picked poor, orphaned boys that they took care of for the sole purpose of getting sent off to war. Most of these boys were very young so around 13 to 15 years of age. That's what the "who will mourn me, who will miss me" parts of the lyrics are based on. And the answer to those questions is no one. They were expendable.
you are in for a treat.... and never stop a video before its ends... you dident that now, thats good.... you get some info many times after the song, they tell storys from the past... real stories... so keep up having the subs on so you dont miss out on the fantastic storrytelling, Best regards from Sabaton Crew and welcome too the family, Best Regards From Sweden
I actually Get to See Sabaton play live in November my BF is taking me as an early Birthday gift, I love all of Sabatons work one of my favorite songs of theirs I really recommend is The Last stand it's about the last stand of the Swiss Guard
The song his singing is about a Swedish soldiers life , how they risk their lives back in 1700 ,leaving their home away from their family to fight and die ,🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪 most powerful song for us Swedish people
I was at this show (sitting somewhere in the middle of the platform to the left from this view of the stage) This was just before covid started canceling shows (had for once planed around 5 shows and 1 festival) Just before this clip started Joakim (the singer) asked everyone to hold up their cellphones since no one carries around lighters anymore.
"Uprising" from the Woodstock festival in Poland 2012, or anything from that festival is epic... There were between 500k and 700k in the audience for that show.
@@ОлегЛасточкин-ь4е " it was announced, that Jansen and her husband Hannes Van Dahl, drummer of Sabaton, were expecting their first child " and the have a dauther on 4 !
You are completely right about the difference between the Swedish and the english rendition of the album Carolus Rex. If you want to se another epic live performance from Sabaton, check out Uprising live woodstock. Performed to a crowd of over 500.000 ppl.. In Poland..about the Polish resistance fighting during WWII. Absolutely epic!
Nice reation and welcome to Sabaton world. like they say in comments try react to no bullets fly and night witches. great songs and if you react to it, do the long version and DONT end video before its ends.
check out Swedish pagans live in Wacken open Air 2019 it is Wacken 30 and sabaton 20 years anniversary fantastic concert wishes that this pandemic will soon end so you can go to concerts! have seen Sabaton live 22 times already and want to see them again soon
A dedicated fan base....you have no idea!!!! The best history lesson you will ever have is a Sabaton song, and the best history course is a Sabaton concert!!! They take all the great events of history and tell them from the human view of those long forgotten about. Their pain, courage, valor and sacrifice without getting involved with the political nonsense. The human experience, here about the 30 year war in Europe 1618-1648 when men were sent to war and never came home or when they did home was no longer there. They have a history channel that tells the facts about their songs with historian Indy Neidell who is a metal-head giving you many of the facts and Sabaton tells how the song came to be made. Another great thing about this band is the anime videos of some of their best songs: Night Witches (th-cam.com/video/5YPo8zDkvy4/w-d-xo.html) amazing story of the all female Russian bomber group, the 588th and they war on the Nazis. No Bullets Fly (th-cam.com/video/dslO-3GgenY/w-d-xo.html) Story of compassion and bravery with a stunning ending in the last 3 minutes a must watch. Here as a vet this incorporates all the fear, anger and anguish of fighting far from home, as is said "Only the dead have seen the end of war", true in the 1600's and still true today. BTW, here a Swedish band gets 550,000+ Poles at Woodstock, Poland to sing along about a German tank division that rampages through France in WW II (th-cam.com/video/9FkYxnm70vg/w-d-xo.html), FAN BASE YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE FAN BASE YET!!!!!
Ohh another reactor fell into the trap that is Sabaton. His what you need to know. Sabaton mostly sing songs about cool battles throughout history. And because they are history nerds (Their words, not mine) they also have a history channel, where you can learn more, about the song, and the story they are singing about. It's absolutely amazing, and I will from now on, and for the rest of my life, suggest ppl to check it out. For songs to react to. There are far to many to list, and everyone has their favorite. I will say though. The ones that usually get the wauw factor, especially from a new Reactor is: 40:1 (pronounced "40 to 1") live at Woodstock Poland. I don't wanna spoil you .. But if you think this crowd was big, and dedicated. That performance will make you piss your pants. And another one, is "82nd all the way" cause it has a really cool story. And last but not least, their song/music video Bismarck. Just cause it's a story everyone know, the song is wicked good, and the production value of that "movie" .. well again. You might wanna bring clean underwear ;)
This song isn't really typical of their sound. Most of their music is more fast-paced. I'd recommend either "Night Witches" from Leipzig on The Great Tour, or "Primo Victoria" from Woodstock Poland 2012.
And if you notice the tape on the stage floor, that's safe zones for the band so they don't get burned. Ask James Hetfield what happens when you forget, well you don't have to actually ask him, plenty of videos on that topic :-)
The first song called A lifetime at War was about the 30 years war when Sweden was on the charge conquering most of Europe but was ultimately forced to withdraw after the battle of Politava which they also have a song about. There is an English version of a Lifetime at War but it's lyrics are different as Swedish words translated directly into enlisted didn't quite line up with the beat but the story it covers if about the same.
No. You are thinking about The Great Northern War, the Battle of Poltava was in 1709. The 30 Years War was fought between 1618-1648 and primarily in Central Europe, you are nearly a century off the mark.
Dedicated fan base or dedicated Swedes? They are singing about our forefathers, we nay appear silent and truce full. But we have like 200 years of anger and war built up so please don't start a war with us =)))))
