You can feel safe preordering anything under a dollar never ever buy expensive cards though I’ve been burned many times and finally learned my lesson

For sure. And you might get lucky and something might just pop off.

I believe the mole god it's really overrated, luckily I pulled one on prerelease since I wanted it for one of my decks.

You never know. I bought a couple of Roaming Thrones on launch day for 7€ and now are double that price. The same happens with Palantir, flame of anor, raise the palaside, virtue of loyalty... and in this very set with Leyline or cryptic coat. Some times it's better, some times is worse.

And those were the only cards you bought on launch day? Or are you skipping over the other cards you bought that cratered in price?
Again, I made the point in the video, there are certainly going to be some cards that go up in price, but in the grand scheme of things, *most* cards in a set drop in price after the first month once hype dies down.

@@attackoncardboard Chimil and moonshaker are now 2€ cheaper and taunt from the rampart 1€ cheaper, but for the most part I have come out ahead. I think the problem is buying the cards with a lot of hype on day 1, cause if the hype is deserved the are gonna stay high in price and if not, you crash like you said, but in my personal experience on day 1 all the small sellers compete among themselves by lowering the price one after another and you can make a lot of great deals.

There are very very few cards that will spike and stay up

    very nice
truthfully i did get cards on launch day but thankfully they are all cheap ones the only reason i got the rainbow leyline was just in case the modern domain deck or evoke elementals love that card.
edit: wow turns out i may have been right on the leyline i got it for $6 now seems to be $25

Surprisingly, I think it's Infect that has also helped with the increase 😂

I think if a card seems to be pretty good for casual play then you should not speculate that it will rise in price but if a card looks like it will be a competitive staple (orcish bowmaster for example) then it should be at a lower risk to loose that much money on it.

But that's experience and knowledge that newer players don't have.
It's much easier to just to not do anything and watch the ride.
As far as spec'ing goes, even the pros get it wrong. Remember Fable of the Mirror Breaker?

It's the same when people pre-order precons for their "value" and then when they arrive they are greated by there are 100 cards worth all of $50-$70 at best not the $200/$300 it claimed to be when the deck list and pre-orders first went live.
