Welcome Back! This is Matt and I love turning trash into CASH. It is Nacho Stuff but that doesnt mean someones trash can't equal cash. You see, many people have abandoned all kinds of random treasures and toss them into the trash. We take these lost valuables and figure out a way to make a buck from them. Sometimes it through resell, other times we might just scrap it. Either way, we are turning free stuff into cash. I prefer the curbside scene but occasionally find myself in a dumpster or two. Join me as I try to turn nothing into something.
I mostly consider myself a scrapper or repurposer of things that people have decided to discard. Some call it picking while others consider it a true treasure hunt. But at the end of the day, like most scrappers, I am trying to reduce our waste while lining my pockets a little in the process. Each piece of scrap metal, item of curbside treasure or piece of dumpster loot means one less piece going into our landfills and that makes me happy. You need one of the coil pool heaters, they have a lot more copper, thicker and number 1 not 2.
Surprised they banned scrapping, fairly certain that goes against current laws stating things on the curb are abandoned, also not sure how they would enforce that ban

There is a lot of towns and cities have banned scrapping because of the messes some scrappers make. And some dumpster divers leaving a mess as well. And there's people that don't like people making money off stuff they throw away.
I never understood the people that dont want someone making money off their trash. That makes great sense - NOT!

No, they'd rather have all that scrap go and choke up the landfill. Plus, it hurts they scrap yards and the scrappers.

Thank you for the video! I say yes on the bed frames. The basic metal frames are $50 to $100 new. Easy to store, plus if priced right a quick sale on marketplace. Also, plant stands on marketplace are an easy sale.

A maul
Works good when you’re splitting wood and if you get it stuck, you can actually take a sledgehammer and hit the back of the maul without basically damaging, saying, and axe or hatchet
They tried to ban scrapping where we go, years ago. That lasted about a couple of weeks, then we went back. We never was pulled over.
Not sure why they would - as long as you are not making a mess - we are actually helping them do their job.

I used to hold all my non-fairest to the end of the week. Aluminum I might have anywhere from 100 to 400 pounds . And that was all aluminum i.e. rads, gutters, cans . Copper, brass, pot, metal, lead. Whether it be dirty or clean.

It always takes 1 person to screw up a good thing. There are 2 boroughs here that I knw of tht don’t allow scraping . I pulled over one day cpl yrs ago to straighten up my load and a cop passed me and turned around. Asked if I was scraping ? I said no y!? He stated tht it wasn’t allowed here bc scrapper’s don’t clean up after themselves. I told him that I am not one of those people that would do that. I clean up and even little better than it looked like b 4 I got here

In the U.K. scrapmen have to get a liecence from the local council, they can't pick up fridge freezers,
There are a number of areas that you can not do fridges and freezers - they are trying to keep the freon out of the atmosphere for people that do not know how to evacuate them

I love you got a maul I love my maul I call it therapy 😂 electricity is costing 54 cents a unit here at present around 80 to 90 euro a week in our house ,the government are blaming Ukraine war diesel is at 1 euro 70 cent a litre for diesel and around 1.60 for petrol
Your prices are always higher then ours too. I love my maul too except I didnt know that was what it was called.

Made it illegal to scrap round here,can take shred now if you good customer,all non ferrous you must liscensed in area of metals you scrap,i have to pay a man to haul mine
Thats crazy! What do you have to do to get licensed? And what does that cost?
You know the government has to figure out a way to get money instead of being happy people are saving them thousands in landfill space.
Liscence as in HVAC for a/c stuff,eletrical for romex etc,used to get scrap hauler liscence from local sheriff office but that ended several yrs ago
