I know everyone keeps saying it- but that look Jack gets, he looks like someone who figured out a new way of math or like, what- you're allowed to do that with a violin?! it's great.
Jack is a gifted musician ( Whom I love) ... but Nick Cave is a Man Who at an early age , grabbed ahold of the electric cable of musical genius ... swinging Him this way and that ... into situations suitable for Heroes and Sages ... this Barbaric Bard did not invent Himself with planning and calculation ( as some have speculated ) but rather breathed a rare flame ; a scorching Song which Our ears interpret as a complete discography of songs ... and this is all that We have to define what God alone has designed and set before Us.
You can tell this song is not quite primal enough for Grinderman. It’s the same time frame and musically it’s dirty but the lyric makes it a Bad Seeds song and not Grinderman. I’m seeing Nick Cave again next month for the first time in decades.
I am a nick cave fan,but isnt it funny how jack white got more comments about him after 2 seconds of footage?jack white will be up there with nick cave one day.give him time.
Yeah - Jack White is a great student of music and my read on that facial expression is he is thinking to himself..................How am I going to ask that crazy looking dude about that violin rig and the noise hes getting out of it without ending up in the boot of a car??? Curiosity killed the cat Jack, careful.
That's the only real guitar. The other "guitar-like" sounds come from Warren Ellis' violin, which is run through a shitload of pedals and stuff. And Nick strums simple chords because it's a simple song, a regular blues in E.
The guy on the far left in the back playing drums (I forget his name) usually plays second guitar for this song live, but he plays percussion on this version. I personally like it better with the extra percussion and only Nick's guitar. The great thing about seeing a Bad Seeds show is that they augment the instrument duties every night, so Warren Ellis might be playing keyboards on a song one night and the next night he plays the guitar or violin for that song.
Jack White is a legend in the NYC Indie Rock/Garage Rock Revival scene, starting back in the late 90’s/early 00’s. He first gained fame as the frontman of “The White Stripes” (of Seven Nation Army fame) and has since gone on to front the US band Jack White & The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather. He was born in 1975 (Nick was born in 1957), so Nick is old enough to be Jack’s brother technically.
I wouldn't know jack white if he bit me on the leg. This song's pretty good though, eh. It's one of those songs, to me, that you never forget where you were the first time you heard it.
2:21 Imagine this: You think you are a great musician, you have 3 different bands, man! and all the world say it to you. Someday they invited you to london to perfom in National TV. Only to realize you are no that great as you think and Nick Cave exist. After that you riped off all Cave's style.
I'm a fan of both Jack White and Nick Cave but i love how Jack White and the gang looks like "damn! thought we were cool!" :)
I know everyone keeps saying it- but that look Jack gets, he looks like someone who figured out a new way of math or like, what- you're allowed to do that with a violin?! it's great.
Nick Cave is probably the best live performer I have seen
Seen him. The love and vibes were stunning.
It’s always fun because he gives 100% and moves like a Frankenstein monster
Saw him at Latitude Festival 2009.
WOW
💯💯💯🔥🔥🔥
“Probably?” Why the doubt?
Nick Cave is a poet and a genius and Warren Ellis and the noises he makes are wonderful...

because they just blew his mind! Jack is like "Man! Thats amazing! Wish I was Nick Cave ":)
What a tight rhythm section!

Every few years or so I come back and read this comment again.
Always loved and remembered the Jools Holland episodes with Nick Cave.
Well ....what an era
Holy shit I'm echoing but Jack White watching them like '...fuck' is so good.
Great band and the great Nick Cave

I know little of Jack White but, by his own admittance, he actually based his act on *The Gun Club / Jeffrey Lee Pierce*
Jeffrey Lee Pierce worked with Nick Cave for a short while as well IIRC
Also, Jeffrey's guitar player Kid Congo Powers played for the seeds as well. Them and Mark Lanegan were all friends. @@Skullsinthecrowd
Jack Who Cares, that's NICK CAVE killing it man
Nailed it.......i lived a few houses away from him in the 80's in Saint Kilda when it Was the Birthday Party!
I'll never understand if nick is actually playing or just slapping the guitar hahaha
I suppose both
Hahahaha all these jack white comments!
Anyway this seeds set was amazing
Great tune
there should an entrie channel dedicated to live concerts and nothing else. No commercials.
I am a nick cave fan,but isnt it funny how jack white got more comments about him after 2 seconds of footage?jack white will be up there with nick cave one day.give him time.

Ted Lasso and the Love Me Knots.
white light, white heat can not remain quiet for long....it's like rust!
Lots of dye here
2018 and Jack White's new tour sound A LOT like this performance... So...
Soooooo good
Augh, he didn't sing my faourite line in this performance. Oh well, still great!
Hahaha same! “I mean no one actually asked him to forsake his dreams”
I love Jack Whites stuff but nothing to do with this Aussie Legend....Get a Dog up ya! Listen to Kicking Against The Pricks!
Listen to The Gun Club. *Jeffrey Lee Pierce* inspired White & close friend Cave.
why is everyone talking about jack white???
Probably due to his reaction to the performance.
Cool as fuck!
Jack learn his lesson...
Jack White lookin' over at the OG....
warren ellis
Nick Cave makes me wanna smoke cigarettes and drink whiskey before taking over the world.... I don't do either of those things.
Everything I'm a music 🎶 crossing
Underated for sure . Big music just want you to hear rap garbage .
Justin vernon, Nick cave, Jack White.......uh, what
Who plays the guitar (N.C. seems just to strum simple chords...)?

After this Nick went back to filming the 70s porn movie.
Where the action is
@@Hirnlego999 i'm all about that action
"..........." - Jack White staring at $5 violin while holding $10,000 guitar
I know one thing: that's a hard act to follow... Dig Lazarus, Dig!! By the way: Who Is Jack White??
