I can't get enough of Finn...he has, without question, the worst taste in music of anyone I regularly watch, and I just can't get enough of it. He always gets me triggered and my blood pressure up, screaming "Oh fuck off! Maynard is awesome!" at my phone... sincerely love his content...

One of the most underrated side projects is "Ibaraki" by Matt Heafy of Trivium. It is a mixture of black metal, melodic death metal and hard rock. It's surprisingly good and proves just how talented Matt really is.

Murderdolls was cheesy fun and they never took themselves too seriously. I always enjoyed them. Never liked Stone Sour though, always thought they were bad radio/butt rock.

Surprised you haven't mentioned Darko US. Clear S-Tier in my mind. Honestly one of the most fresh sounds in metal at the moment.

agree 💯💯💯. "i love that "Acid Inject" and "Come home" are back to back on that "Oni" album. Darko is waaaay underrated IMO. yes, the drums are programmed (and that's why they sound amazing) and they're pretty eclectic for a deathcore group. I'm a fan.

putting APC in S Tier was a good move in my opinion. Emotive album with the dude who did sound design for the SAW movie was a 10 simply for Counting Bodies Like Sheep. Really impressive track and Maynard, whilst being sampled, sounds so amazing on it.
I would actually love to see Nailbomb on the list (Max from Sepultura and Alex Newport from Fudge Tunnel)..people who who enjoy 90s sepultura might really like it
Gotta go deeper on Killer be Killed. The song IED is anything but “Hot Dog” rock.

Fun picks. I liked Boxcar Racer, too, but they were not better than Quicksand. They were just easier to sell to teenagers. Some suggestions for Part 3: Temple of the Dog, Mad Season, Only Crime, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, Kingdom of Sorrow, Damn Yankees, Pinhead Gunpowder, etc.
Killer Be Killed is just amazing power metal. It sounds like they tried to make a joke band but just came up with non stop bangers.

I think Corey Taylor was just the only other singer in Iowa at the time aside from Anders Cohefini. Their options were limited to say the least.

I really liked that one song by Fort Minor, "Where'd You Go", and I like that song by BOB feat. Hayley Williams. Oh, a really old side project was when Eric Clapton did Derek and the Dominos, and made "Layla" with Duane Allman playing slide guitar. I guess you could say that Cream was a side project in the first place, since The Yardbirds was the first band that Eric Clapton was in, I think. That means Led Zeppelin is a side project too lol

Seriously though, check out Legend of the Seagullmen. It's a side project with Danny Carey from Tool and Brent Hinds from Mastodon, among others. The title track is catchy as hell, with a silly surfabilly vibe. Brent Hinds had another decent fez-wearing, surfabilly side gig before Mastodon called Fiend Without a Face. Good stuff.

That first DRUGS record was pretty good. To give credit where it's due, it's also the bass player of Story of the Year (Adam), drummer of Matchbook Romance (Aaron) and guitarist of From First to Last (Matt). It was a pretty good lineup of musicians back then!
As entertaining as always 😅! Maybe include The Fake Names in a later edition?. Featuring Brian Baker (Minor Threat, Dag Nasty, Bad Religion), Michael Hampton (S.O.A., Embrace, One Last Wish), Dennis Lyxzén (Refused, International Noise Conspiracy, INVSN), and Johnny Temple (Girls Against Boys).
When I was 9 I thought "Omega" by Stone Sour was the deepest thing ever recorded. It is so cringe in hindsight. Also, there's a pretty good baseball player named jazz chisholm and I can't hear his name without thinking of Tommy Lee.

Boxcar racer is amazing. So sad they only ever did one album to be honest. Although the self titled blink album did take some good inspiration from Tom's boxcar sound.
When ever I listen to their record I shed a little tear because they only gave us one release :'(

Got the chance to see one of the few Killer be Killed shows in Sydney and they put on a hell of a show, I still laugh that they had an extra guitarist to play Greg’s parts since he kept putting his guitar down to jump around and dive into the crowd lol

Them Crooked Vultures is pretty badass and same with Prophets of Rage. I grew up listening to Them Crooked Vultures and then Prophets of Rage came out I think when I was just getting out of high school
I didnt know who Them Crooked Vultures was until this video. I remember regularly skipping them on Spotify. Not bad, but as you said, just didnt really grab me.
If you do another one of these videos, here's a few side projects I've come across over the years: The Almost (Aaron from Underoath), Pinkly Smooth (Brian & Jimmy from Avenged), Bayonet(Buddy from Senses Fail), Speak the Truth... (Buddy and most of Finch), We Are Harlot (Danny from Asking Alexandria), William Control (Will from Aiden), Aaron West & the Roaring Twenties (Soupy from The Wonder Years) & The Postal Service. Some are good, some not so much, but they're all interesting in their own right.

I remember one time I had a friend who didn't know who the Misfits were, so to describe them I told him they were "Murderdolls minus Dope".
I liked Them Crooked Vultures. Listening to it now, it does sound like music used in commercials. At the time it didn't feel like that. In 2009 it seemed that commercials were using barely known indie artists. I also didn't like DRUGS (besides the single) in comparison to Chiodos.

Remember buying it for my CD Walkman with anti-shock for £17/$35 back in the day, album is still catchy/cheesy.
Hopefully on the next volume you'll include Son of Sam, the "At the Drive in" side projects (Sparta, Mars Volta), Two Tongues (Chris Conley and Max Bemis) or even the multiple Alkaline trio side projects(Heavens, M.S. and the Sekrets, Dan Andriono in the Emergency Room/Bygones) Black Audio, XTRMST, Dreamcar (Davey Havoc) United Nations, No Devotion (Geoff Rickley) Head Automatica, Color Film(Daryl Palumbo) and who can forget Cobra Starship.

The Wes Borland band sounds like that scene "Knights of the Round Table" from Monty Python but it comes off non ironically.
Pierre bouvier from Simple plan did a side project called Reset and Roger lima from Less than jake made a side project called Rehasher. To me they're very underrated.
