This has quickly become an insta watch video when i see it in my feed. I havent watched much yogscast content in years, but this is just such a blast from the past while also feeling so new and fresh. Please keep it coming!
I love that they are so over-reliant on gearboxes that their solution to so many gearboxes is to add more gearboxes instead of removing the ones that are unnecessary. Someone please turn Duncan onto the gantry and gearshift; make a wood farm out of jaffa trees and send the wood to be burned and the oranges for processing.
That's one of the neat and terrifying things about Create.. it can do so much but if you don't bother to really pay attention to the ponder system you'll end up doing idiotic things like them. In typical Yogs fashion they're just creating ridiculous amounts of lag with their "solutions" that could have been solved in a much more simple and efficient way. Which the better ways would have also been faster and less work..
Depending on the modpack Create options, there are elevator blocks, and you can put a 'contraption control' on the structure the tope pully picks up and down, which lets you have programmed 'floors' using a create redstone link block. so you can have call buttons to call the lift up/down, then use the contraption control to choose the floor you go to. its Really cool
To clarify this.. you can build an elevator contraption using an Elevator Pulley block (ponder that block for in-game details). You can build the elevator in whatever way you want then glue it together and use a pulley to raise/lower it. You place a redstone contact for the elevator to line up with and that's what tells it what floor it is on. Any contact placed in that column will now connect together as another floor. A contraption control on the elevator can then be used to select the floor. You can even add screens (depending on the Create addons you have) to read out what floor you're on or have like little adverts. The redstone contacts can also have a button attached to them (or any redstone signal) to call the elevator to that floor. It'd work out great for a factory.
