Incredible to see Paul still making classic music and looking sharp. My brother got me into Weller in the mid-90's Stanley Road era as a teenager which was life-changing and he took me to Day At The Races to see him live. From the Jam to the Style Council and solo career, Paul was the soundtrack to my brother's life and he saw almost every tour. It was just Weller 24/7, barely listened to much else! Unfortunately last year his life came to an end after many years of addiction, and we played Broken Stones and I Shall Be Released at his funeral. It was perfect. This isn't meant to be a sad story, though. Weller's music meant everything, and will always bring back great memories of my brother and so I'm so grateful and blessed to hear the great man still making music. It means so much to so many people, and new memories to be made for another generation.
Sorry for your loss, I'm glad you have sweet memories of him and Paul's music to get you through the tough times. His music has got me through many of them. Here's to glad times.
My guy passed 8-23-24...this song is us. Us and we, we had nothing We came together by Having nothing Nothing forged our love Out of nothing Because it was only by Having nothing We were able to realize We needed nothing else But each other But each other Walking back through the silver trees The light summer's evening breeze Across my face to a time and place Then it was gone, gone, gone, gone Walking back through the silver trees The light summer's evening breeze Across my face to a time and place Then it was gone, gone, gone, gone Us and we, we had nothing We came together by Having nothing else But each other But each other
Ive followed Paul all my Life. and this is such a beautiful reflective account of exactly how I feel Right now!!!!!!!! 54years and lucky to be alive. Love. XX
@@standrewsSH His music has reflected my life, and all I can say is "Thankyou" When I started hearing his new tracks I was like - This mans still got it!! and long may it continue.
Same here… 59 so I was 12 when The Jam released In The City. Paul’s evolution since has been remarkable. Have loved every phase and he’s still producing fantastic music. Like Lennon, McCartney, Bowie and Costello, Weller’s a national treasure.
It's a fabulous Paul Weller tune but the lyrics were mostly written by Andrew Chalk, and his mate Suggs (ex-Madness, a lifelong friend of Weller's). Paul Weller reshaped it a bit but the original poem was by Chalk.
This man has become one of the most important people in music in British history he is so incredible and he will go down in history as one of the greatest artists in British history in music
Mr Paul Weller it's so good to see you again after all those years and you are still as lovely as you was back then you was one of my very best singers of my time here on this planet so thankyou for giving us so much of your life with us all godbless sir and lots of love to you and your channel 💖💖💖💖thankyou so much 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
It's a beautiful song of reflection, and I'm gonna put it out there it's for his parents and the struggle of upbringing and having nothing, but i believe more so his Dad. The boxers at the start, his Dad was a boxer in his youth.....and then towards the end there's a grave being visited over and over, the white Dove being released. It's the nod of Paul's head, almost like an acceptance his Dad has passed. 💔 Just my thoughts, they are deep and solemn, but it's kinda what I see with this video and song. Thank you yet again, Paul, for a simply beautiful song that will resonate with so many.
My Dads been a Weller fan since he was 14. He is now 60 and I’ve grown up listening and following Weller aslong as I can remember since the age of 3 and I’m now 34 and my 8 year old and 6 year old son loves his music. No matter how old Weller gets or how mellow he has gone now he’ll always be THE MODFATHER 😊👊🏼
Oh my god, this is just sublime. How does he do it? Loved him since forever but I dunno, the last few years, the deeper, honeyed-with-a-sprinkle-of-gravel tones his voice has taken on as it's aged - it just has this richer, more poignant wonderfulness. Oh Mr Weller you are a supreme talent. Long may you continue. And thank you for all the gems you've given over the years. Absolute legend x
He's amazing the albums that Paul has knocked out say from true meanings to now. He must have a bottomless well of tunes. This one just gently glides and leaves you feeling chilled. Paul is the real deal👏👏👏
Definitely in the last 10 years or so he's had a burst of creativity some of his records in the 2000s didn't really strike a chord with me(not bad albums)
"Down in a tube station at Midnight" in my football following years - anthem from the pre match and after duke boxes all around London. part of our history - not only in the Two brewers in Tottenham. A working class reality that we all can relate to. Love X
This far into a career that is already unreal he is still producing great music. No greatest hits tours or the like, he still out there touring new stuff. His discography is unmatched.
Paul mi emoziona sempre, dal 1983 ad oggi. Auguri per i suoi 66 anni. Anche questo Album contiene delle belle perle; da Saturn Patterns in avanti la sua vena è addirittura migliorata. Thanks Mr Weller
Oohhhh man mesmerizing the 80's in my 20ties all the way(indeed Style Council I was a great fan then, still are), what a splendid sound of soul/jazz in a incredible relaxing way.....what an iconic figure Paul is, spot on!!
The world is a very troubled place at the moment!!! - Playing some Bard of Woking just lifts your spirits !!! - It's like a happiness pill right there !!! - Just like The Fabs did all those years ago !!! - Happy b,day Guv'nor & thank you for 6 decades of genius!!! - Nigel Wellski-.
Thank you Paul, again, for all these years of great music. I miss so much my mother, this song reminds me of her.
My mom's in heaven too sad😢

What a beautiful song.
Love you Mr. Paul Weller! You have been with me trough all these years ❤
Paul Weller: Light
As lovely as could be, pastoral jazz and summer soul.
My guy passed 8-23-24...this song is us.
Us and we, we had nothing
We came together by
Having nothing
Nothing forged our love
Out of nothing
Because it was only by
Having nothing
We were able to realize
We needed nothing else
But each other
But each other
Walking back through the silver trees
The light summer's evening breeze
Across my face to a time and place
Then it was gone, gone, gone, gone
Walking back through the silver trees
The light summer's evening breeze
Across my face to a time and place
Then it was gone, gone, gone, gone
Us and we, we had nothing
We came together by
Having nothing else
But each other
But each other

The more I listen the better it gets. Cheers Paul. 🎉
Just stunning & soul music right here in 2024....
This is really song writing. This guy can still out- write any of the "mega artists" of today. Genius stuff.

Excellent tune! There's a reason why his fellow peers always praise this guy. Oh and I'm seeing him in November at Hammersmith Odeon. Oh yes!
Hard to think of anyone his age writing songs of this calibre other than Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen

Heard it yesterday on the radio for the first time. His voice lends well for this jazzy style.

You must be pretty weak minded then. Only one person can ever save your life in the manner you are suggesting here, a mental crisis, and that's you.
