I have a question before I go out and spend millions on a GPU. I play CS on low settings to boost FPS as high as possible, I don't care about the graphic, I only care about as high FPS as possible, and I will soon be going from playing CSGO to CS2, currently using 4790K GTX960 2GB, thinking about getting a 7800x3d upgrade. My question is, do I really need to upgrade to an expensive GPU to play CS2 on 1440p low settings? I just want to run as many FPS as possible, I can't state this enough, even stable +800 fps would make me a very happy competitive CS player.
This couldn't have come at a better time as I'm about to build a Ryzen 7600 build, thank you for your video! Helps a lot as I was a bit anxious about certain components!
I'd be curious to know the total price when your PC is done. I want to build a new PC but don't know which CPU, GPU, RAM, and motherboard pairing to choose that will last for at least a few years without needing any upgrading.
I love how you don't just go with one piece of hardware specifically, always have been fond of that. I continue to hold a smouldering rage for nVidia's prices personally, I'm to the point that I won't recommend them to clients at all unless they need CUDA for something specifically.
Same, I don't plan to buy GPU's from them anymore and I also won't recommend them to anyone either, they pissed me off when they drove EVGA out of the GPU market, but their bull$hit from the last few months was the last straw for me, Jensen can roll up the cash he made ripping people off and f@ck himself with it.
What is CUDA actually required for? Does it help reduce pressure on CPU? OR does it help in gaming performance or 4k movie watching? Is dlss better than fsr?
I spent $300 on an LG QP5 Eclair soundbar. It supports Atmos 3.1.2 and has a sub. I don't think I ever need to buy an audio-equipped motherboard again.
I’m confused… wouldn’t the sound bar still benefit from an upgraded audio codec? or do you mean you wouldn’t be able to know the difference because the sound bar already sounds nice?
I was going to go for a 13500 but my main purpose was for gaming and a last minute check with the 7600, when I saw that comparison benchmarks, I was blown away. And the cherry on the cake was the 7600 was $100 cheaper where I live than the 13500. If you don't need wifi on the motherboard, the MSI PRO B650M-P is a very cheap and robust choice. I always prefer GSkill rams so the 6Ghz 36 were the best choices.
Thanks, it's been a few years since my last build and I was floundering. You made learning the changes as painless as possible and understandable enough that I was confident to give AMD a try.
Damn I've watched more than 100 videos today on PC building but the information you provide is really easy to understand and really rich. I just love the way you explain the concepts and remove the myths. Thank you very much!
Great Video Jason 👍 I didn't think the 7600 was all that fast, but it turned out to pack a punch for a 6 core non X CPU. I learned quite a bit about the value proposition in a budget AM5 platform upgrade today, so thanks! I often look for overpriced motherboards just because the i/o is so much better on the $250-$300 AM5 Mobos, but I realized that you can just get PCIE add in cards for USB4 or USB C 3.2 2x2 if you need those ports.
@@PCBuilderChannelwhich one should i buy for ryzen 5 7600, gpu rx 6750 xt, Msi pro b650m-p or Gigabyte b650m de3h or Asus Prime b650m-A II, Please tell me, prices are same in my country
I was looking for 7600 build, then I change my mind to 12600k and z790. CPU was like 90euros cheaper then 7600 and little bit faster,so there was no brainer for me. BTW i was using AMD cpus like 13 years, and in 2016 or so, switched to blue team.
My last build was a fx8150 10 years ago! After seeing price drops it really is a great time for anew build right kow. This time I started evaluating a Ryzen 9 but after comparing features and values for the components it just became obvious that I should start with a R5 7600x. I basically got all the exact same parts that you recommend in this video for the same reasons, (b650 aero for hd audio and 2x nvme, 7600x, ddr5 32g) but also because this will be my system for the next 10 years so the upgradability is prime for this setup. I also just ordered a 2t kc3000 nvme yesterday after looking at prices. This is my first time installing nvme. Btw the build is working a at 1% CPU on idle and 60w power consumption on Ubuntu 20.4. It spends 40 watt less than my old fx8150 and it runs like a dream. I commend you sir on your great work! And I stand behind the recommendation in this video 1000 %✓ Subscribed.
@@PCBuilderChannel I love it! When I first got it, it was a little rough. The older BIOSes didn't work with RAM well, it had to retrain every time I booted up meaning 1minute plus boot times. The April BIOS update ending up fixing these issues and now I have a 20-30 second boot time. Stability has been good. I have a 200mhz PBO with -12 offset that has been really solid. Not sure if I am doing it right, but it seems to work well and it boost up to 5.35 Ghz. I am still learning computers...so much to learn!!
ASRock is actually coming out with a new line of motherboards called the Taichi Lite. They are have all of the Taichi features but without all of the RGB and fancy looking heat sinks and will cost quite a bit less. The X670E Steel Legend was also on sale a day or two ago for $262.
I recently bought the B550 Tiachi for my upgrade from i7 6700k to Ryzen 9 5950x. Looks good but faster M.2 and 8x Sata won me over if you want an AM4 but more RGB they do the same board in a Razer edition same goes for the x570 M/B. Was going to pair with my 3070Ti but got a good price trading in and buying a Radeon RX 6950 butnhad to upgrade my older Enermax Galaxy PSU 850 watt to an EVGA 1300GT, older PSU did not have 3x 6+2 pin connectors. The options at present are great and this build should last 6 plus years.
Jason, only a small correction here, the Ryzen 5 7600 and the 7600x are NOT usually the same price. The Ryzen 5 7600 is about $25 cheaper than 7600x, and then you have to buy a cooler for the 7600x, so we are looking at around $50 to $70 more dollares for a 7600x.
loving your content, looking forward to 400k subs! I followed most of your guidance and in March 2023 i built 7600x with RX 6800 for 1440p, with the intention of going 7900 xtx or better later on. but for now, I'm happy with its performance.
@@wealthyluxuryvideos I don't think it's terrible, but I think say a Ryzen 5600 is a better budget CPU. 4 cores has kind of a hard time in some games. Do some research. The info is out there
The current 5-level CPUs (Ryzen 5, Core i5) are the sweet spot for most gaming and consumer-level productivity builds. In truth, a very small percentage of PC users need more cores, but a lot are convinced to get more by going to the 7- or 9-level CPUs. My current gamer runs a 13700K with an ASRock 6800XT and 64GB of RAM on an ASRock Z690 Taichi motherboard, built to give a nice boost over the previous 3900X / 2080Ti machine and to provide headroom for a faster GPU if 7900XTX prices fall below $900 US. (CUDA and software benefits aside, I'm done with Nvidia.) I used to lean Gigabyte, but I'm leaning heavily into the ASRock camp these days.
Thank you for your comment. Been trying to research pc build lately as I prepare to try my first build! It is true I was convinced ryzen 7 was the way to go, but the graphics cards seem so expensive. I'm hoping to spend under 2k CAD total, so it's great to hear ryzen 5 is still acceptable. Will look for builds including ryzen 5 instead of 7 going forward. Thanks again!!
I'm still waiting for that sweet deal where I feel comfortable pulling the trigger. Since I recently upgraded my GPU from an RX 570 8GB to an RX 6800 16GB, the rest of my build is an R5 3600 with 64GB of cl16 RAM on a B450 Tomahawk. I'm actually considering the 7700 since its available, but it's the rest I'm not completely sold on. I might just wait until Black Friday or similar event and snatch up a good deal since my system still functions well enough.
You do a great job explaining the important feature for people trying to optimize value. I built a computer this past month, and I bought more CPU than I should have. I don't think it was enough to go up in GPU tiers. I got an 6700 XT for $330. The price jump to the tier above a 6700 XT is $150+.
If you got 7600 ryzen it's not bad. You got all future proof you need, basically you don't need to change your CPU, DDR5 ram and motherboard. Only thing you need for significant upgrade is to sell your GPU and get better one with money you got and ofc you need to pay more. You can max out your GPU and buy worse CPU but then you are locked with bad motherboard and no upgrade paths for CPU, basically you need to change everything. Generally yeah better GPU is better but getting AM5 early is amazing deal. You keep DDR5 ram, motherboard and CPU is very strong and you can wait till GPU purchases get better value.
I always love how in most of your videos you try to make it as clear as possible that when it comes to gaming the GPU should take absolute priority and the CPU can be lower tier than we think as long as its not bottlenecking the GPU. I always get caught up in getting the next best thing but I always need that reminded that it might not make a difference whatsoever.
I have no idea how it happened, but I bought my Ryzen 5 7600 for $2990 Mexican Pesos, approximately $175 USD. From one day to the next, a supplier began selling them at a very reduced price to the main hardware stores, dropping public prices to $175. It was time for something good to happen in these lands. Although we have much better prices and stock than most of Latin America, the percentage it represents of our salary is much higher so any discount is greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for these videos that help us make better decisions and save valuable resources.
where did you get your cpu from? im about to build my first pc and im going to a store in mexico city called gamer pc but i would love to find lower prices, im on a budget of 27,000 pesos.
I was able to put together a $1800 build (2k with taxes 😑) with a FRICKIN 7900 XTX! 🤯 I’ll probably be buying at the end of June / early July, so hopefully the prices don’t go up 😅
I want to echo your advice about purchasing a motherboard without upgraded audio. In my new build I went with the MSI B650 Tomahawk because I wanted the upgraded audio, but the quality of the audio was bad and the audio had a high pitched squeal when gaming that I could not get rid of. So I purchased the Apple 3.5mm to usb c converter, which has a built in dac. It's $9 and the audio quality is so much better.
You have that problem because the board is having interference which is a common problem on mobo with pcb layer with 6 or less layers. They also tend to not overclock well either.
Man, your videos have to be some of the best on you tube. Your knowledge of the PC world is incredible. Right now I'm learning about how I will build my next system 4 years from now. After spending all that money on AM4 platform, I have to wait on AM6 to come out before I can afford AM5 lol. what a fool believes......he sees. Thanks again Jason, and I'm still waiting for the 6950 to go below $500 so I can add it to my 5900x rig.

Just built my first PC and did a lot of research looking a good build. Went with B650 Tomahawk wifi motherboard, A RX6700 XT gpu and Ryzen 7600 cpu, all of which you reccomended so I feel like I did pretty good! Still not sure im sold on needing a new cpu fan but im open to it, wish I looked at this video before going through hours of research but regardless i'm super happy with this new setup
Currently on a 5600/3060. I’m thinking I’d benefit from a gpu upgrade before a cpu upgrade. I’m also more likely to change platforms over swapping to a 5800x3d as the cost of the 5800x3d is 70% higher than 7600+ free ddr5 ram and the difference can be used towards a new board making the cost difference minor
There's no reason to upgrade your platform, AM5 isn't mature enough yet, and the 5600 is absolutely still great for gaming. You'd 100% be better off upgrading the GPU first. If someone is upgrading from say ryzen 2000 or like Intel 10th gen... sure, go to AM5. No need to upgrade from AM4 though if you're on ryzen 5000 already.
I'm in the exact same place, 5600x and 3060 Ti. When looking and optimizing my system, it's always the GPU at 100% with the fans screaming. I've been waiting to see what comes out in the middle of AMD's range, but soon I'm just going to spring for a 7900 xt and move on.
Not worth it the 5600 is still holding strong, it's a huge expense I rather get a better GPU, my future upgrade will be the 5800X3D I don't have to swap out anything. Considering I just upgraded, I'm good for a couple of years. If money is burning a hole in your wallet it's always your decision. I've been there before.
@@furiahispanica3823 I get where you're coming from, but weigh your options carefully before buying a 5800X3D. Prices for a budget motherboard, 7600 and memory are rapidly dropping toward $400. The 5800X3D is holding around $330. For less than $100 more you move to a faster processor on a platform with an upgrade path. The 5800X3D is the fastest gaming chip you can put on the old platform, but the 7600 is already a faster gaming chip. I've been eyeing the 5800X3D for a while now and for the extra $100 or so the updated system is probably the better buy if you can swing it.
Hi Jason, I am wanting to build my first build but I am not really a fan of heavy RGB. How do you feel about mesh panels? And what cases do you recommend for someone not a fan of RGB but works on your AMD 7600 and 7800 3D builds?
I do kind of wish you did include the price of the graphics card somewhere some how while showing the price break downs as the first build being the budget build looks great at $600 for all of the other components, but that graphics card is about $750 so rather then it being a $600 system it is a $1350 system + your choice of case. So lets call that one a $1500 system to give plenty of room for the case any anything else not included there. Like if you can put an almost $1k graphic card into your system there is nothing budget about it and you really should not skimp on any of the other components. I would go straight to the full premium options here as it is only about $200 to $300 more in the end from the "budget" option. I mean the title of the video is the Ryzen 7600 build not the Sapphire Pulse Radion RX 7900 XT build. The budget option should have like the RX 6800 in it. Though at the same time AMD cards are priced all over the place. You have some 6700s and 6800s at the same price as 7900s and then XT and XTX models are either the same price or like $50 or less apart in price.
The thing with the 7600 non X is, that if you just lower the power limit of the 7600X to 65 W, you'll get the same result as the non X variant. Plus, you will get slightly better performance in applications without the Power limit. And it's just 10$ more expensive (at least in my country)
Why are all the "premium" motherboards all so poorly rated on both Amazon, NewEgg, and MicroCenter? I guess the GIGABYTE B650 AORUS PRO seems to have semi decent feedback, but in general everyone is crapping on these MBs. Is it just the massive amount of reported bugs with the AM5 platform, or people that just do not understand how to properly set and configure the system, a mix of both, or are all MBs just horrible right now? Cuz the MB & Case are two things I never want to replace, as it requires essentially rebuilding the entire computer, but motherboards are massively stressful right now, at least on the AMD side according to users. I've heard AWFUL things about Asus boards everywhere I look, but the ASUS - B650M-A-CMS Prime seems to have the best overall reviews from the 3 most popular vendors in the USA. Scary.
The se-224xt actually outperforms the se-226xt. However, neither cooler is suitable for a 12 or 16-core CPU, so if you plan to upgrade later (which is MUCH MORE COMMON with AMD platform since the motherboard will be useful for many years), you might want to get a better cooler. I own an SE-224-xt which I use with my 5700g. I like the RGB and the cooler punches way above it price ($35) in terms of price/performance - it behaves like a $75 cooler, not a $35 cooler ...
Important to note that right now at microcenter you can get the 7700x, Msi pro b650m-p motherboard and gskill 6000 cl36 32 gb kit all for $449, that’s a steal.
Great video, as always Jason! Enjoyed chatting with you a bit; and actually being home and awake for one of your premieres! Love this channel, can't wait to see what you come up with next!

Thank you very much for all the amazing content. It helped me lots picking all my parts n even informing for a monitor to pair it with. Id not have the confidence to build it myself without all of your help 🔥
Thank you for the information you provide in your videos! Specifically the differences in motherboards and those that contain upgraded audio or not. Also, that M.2 and SATA SSD's have similar performance for gaming. These little gems of information really help.
Probably fine but not sure which one you mean. Check out our latest Best Builds video from this month on the channel, we have a great current 7600 sample build there
@@PCBuilderChannel thankyou for replying sorry I’m new to pc and don’t know but just wanted to know if Ryzen 5 7600 wouldn’t bottleneck to much or it would be good with a rtx 4070 super and if maybe a monitor that’s 1080p or 1440p would be best.
I've really wanted the 7800X3D but I just don't have the money for it. Then I convinced myself that the 7700X was good enough. Now you've convinced me to get the 7600. I'll be gaming at 3440x1440. I can drop in the 8800X3D or whatever later. Thanks for saving me money Jason. I'm a couple months away from finally having the whole thing built!
Personally, I find the increased recommendation to 32gb to be spot on. I've noticed due to poor optimization of PC games nowadays, 16gb might not be enough for newer titles (ex: Hogwarts Legacy)
I mean if you are going AM5 and DDR5 you might as well go for 64gb as your ram and motherboard should be good for the whole AM5 life and if it is anything like AM4 that should be a good long life. I would avoid the RGB kits though if you are going to go for 64gb. I saw a 64gb kit from Team T-Force for $150 which is a little cheaper then getting two basic 32gb kits to get up to 64gb.
what is wrong with the stock cooler with the 7600? will it not keep temps under 95C? if in a good case with a lot of fans, with front and top fans, will it be fine?
7600+Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX+32GB Kingston Fury 6000MHz+6950XT+SN770 drives+ Arctic Freezer II 360mm to allow for upgrades. Obviously you can do it a fair bit cheaper but I wanted to max out 1440p with upgrade room without breaking the bank. CPU+mobo for £349 wss a great deal.
Well we have some great options just they are all around the same $700 +/- $100 or so price range right now regardless of what model it is. Like there is no real budget, mid, high. It is all just a matter of well you might as well get the 6800 over the 6700 because it is only $50 more or the same price, but then you might as well just get the 7800 because it is only $50 more or the same price, but then you might as well just get the 7900 XT because it is only $50 more or the same price, but then you might as well just get the XTX because it is only like $50 more.
Super informative, and well explained. Thank you! Just about to build my own 7600 build and picked most of the recommended parts you mentioned, before I knew of this videos existence. It was an extensive research process, but glad to see that I didn't make any huge mistake at least.
Oh my, it feels like this video was made specifically for me, it answers all the questions I got in the last few weeks trying to make my build, I'm so happy!
Just wanted to say thanks. I learned a lot from your series of videos about what not to buy and best combos. Really gave me the confidence to finally attempt to build my own PC. Cheers.
He had it on his RYZEN 5000 motherboard guide. Basically, it depends on what headphones/speakers you use and if you use the motherboard's audio jacks or you buy an external dac or soundcard. Edit: He also had a vid on it on intel 12th gen videos.
I just bought myself a new pc and realized that I bought allmost all parts you are talking about in this video. Feels good :D AMD Ryzen 5 7600x RTX 4070 B650 PRO RS 32gb DDR5 2TB M.2 SSD Only missmatch is my CPU cooler since it only has 4 heatpipes. ENDORFY Fera 5 ARGB. It is still in parts. I really hope the CPU cooler is good enough.
I really wish AM5 had more budget boards with 2 ram slots because the platform runs much better wired for 2 ram slots and at the low end you should be focusing on the best 2 sticks you can afford and it would make the boards more affordable or allow them to put more options on the board. Also 32GBs of RAM, even on gaming only builds, will mean less page filing on your system (EDIT: less effect I mean... losing 4-6 GBs of 32 GBs is better than 2-3 GBs on 16 GBs). Not worth spending an arm and leg for but for a few more bucks I think it's worth it if it's in the budget.
Well if you dont mind not having RGB you could even go so far as to get 64gb of ram. You can get a double 32gb 5200 DDR5 kit from Team T-Force for only $160 on new egg right now, and I keep seeing those same RGB Team T-Force sticks going into builds on you tube and this week is the first I have ever heard of them so I guess they are ok. Or G.Skill Flare / Ripjaws for $170 Yes it is about twice the price you can get a 32gb kit for but of course they are it is twice the ram it should be. That said I have paid that much or more for 16gb kits in the past.
Hi Jason, would you recommend the CM Hyper 212 Evo v2 (4 heatpipes, €30) or Thermalright AssassinX 120 SE (4 heatpipes, €22) or Assassin King 120 SE (5 heatpipes, €24) as an upgrade to the 5600 stock cooler? I find my stock cooler a bit too loud even with a custom curve since the pc is sitting right next to me. I don't know if the amount of heatpipes matter to the sound of the system, but I'm not worried about temperatures since those are already fine with a stock cooler.
My new pc coming home on monday can't wait! This is 1300€ build what do you think ? i5 12600k + rx6700xt + asus tuf gaming z690 d4 + corsair vengeance 2x8gb 3200 + P3 crucial ssd 2TB + Be Quiet Pure Power 12M 750w + Lian Li Lancool 215 Your videos helped me so much with picking parts.. Thank you 💚
Some notes: x570 boards seem to struggle with XMP enabled (particularly 3200 and above), mine is like that and it randomly resets the BIOS every few months. I just gave up and am running at stock RAM speeds to see if it resets again. Ryzen 7xxx series seems to struggle with 6000mhz and above RAM speeds, so it's best to keep below that.
The b650 comment about posting 6000mhz ram is spot on cod kept crashing couldn’t figure out why until backed the ram down in bios and no issues since Ryzen 7600 Rtx 4070
When I got my Newegg bundle of the Asrock mobo and 7700, I had to find memory next. I really wanted DD5 6000 CL30 but remembered everyone saying boards were hit and miss at the level. So I went and checked the mobo memory support page and ordered a G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo 6000 cl30 2x16 set listed there. It worked flawlessly. I don't know if I got lucky or if Asrock just did a really good job testing the kits. I'm happy with it though :)
From years of experience, G.Skill worked flawlessly in every system I've built or did laptop memory upgrades on. My longest running system with G.Skill memory is 13 years and still going.
Ooohhh so that's why you wanted me to watch this when you were boosting my build. Now I get it! This was very informative, thank you! I'll be on the lookout for more build videos and I'll give your recent build videos a watch!
great video looking at a very similar build at the moment so you have given me some things to weight up. Although GPU prices here in Australia are scary cheapest 6700XT is $520, 6800 XT $786, 6950 $949, 7700XT $729
Here a question, can't find any answers to it. I want to build a new PC with a 7800X3D and maybe a 7900 XT in a Micro-ATX form factor, maybe in a ASUS Prime AP201 Case. Does a GPU on a MATX Motherboard take up all the PCI space, because I want to put in a Soundblaster AE-9 into the last PCI slot.
Thanks a lot for this. I was having trouble picking between the different CPU options, but this sold me that the 7600 is indeed a very good choice. Now I just have to navigate the crazy motherboard market...
I just upgraded for: - 7600 - B650M Mortar Wifi - 2x16 XPG Lancer 6000Mhz(36-36-36-76) - Thermalright SI-100 It took me 9 years to upgrade, I'm very satisfied!
this was what i was looking for, after comparing the equivalent prices over here. most sensible build in terms of price/performance/watts, at least in my region. for whatever reason intel over here has quite the up-price compared to amd. the 13600KF is 305 bucks compared to 225 bucks for the 7600. those 80 bucks would be a dark rock PRO 4 cooler for me...that is a pretty darn good cooler...
Hi. Thank you for your recommendations for a Ryzen 7600 build however I do have one question, is there a non-modular power supply that you can recommend for the build?
Hi. I am a couple of months late, but I do have a question. I ordered a Ryzen 5 7600x for myself a while back and it should be here in a week or two. I am actually looking for an air cooler. Now the only air cooler I can find available in my country is the Cougar Forza 85 and I am unsure if that cooler is good for this CPU. I do not wish to go with an AIO since I move my system around a lot (house sitting and so on, so I end up packing it into the car and driving a lot with it.) I just wish to know if you can say whether the Cougar Forza 85 is worth it, or if I should spend about 1.5k extra to order from Amazon (I live in a country they don't normally ship to.)
My PC of 8 years has bitten the dust i think. Won't boot up & tried changing the PSU & replaced the CMOS battery. Looking at doing a new build in the next couple of weeks.
Thoughts on the ID-Cooling AIOs? They're super cheap, but that worries me. Thought about getting the ID-Cooling Frostflow, but I'd rather spend more money if it's not a great product.

Excellent video! The only aspect that left me uncertain was the selection of RAM. Given our better understanding of DDR5 RAM and its performance nowadays, which DDR5 RAM and motherboard would be optimal for pairing with the Ryzen 7600 and RTX 3070?
Thank you! I’m actually building a 7600x (on a thermalright peerless assassin 120) with g.skill ripjaws s5 32gb-5600 and 6700xt on an Asus b650e-f to have an upgrade path down the line. Can someone help me, I am looking to buy 6950XT, & my main game is Rainbow Six Siege right now (for last 5 years pretty much). I am in a dilemma that Does Nvidia Reflex provide better for latency or if I get raw high number of FPS then the more the FPS the less should be the latency? So could i get best latency with AMD also? Moreover, I read 5800x3D having high cache improves frametimes and smoothness of game. Do you suggest this CPU with 6950XT?
Nvidia doesn't make a difference over AMD for latency so don't worry about that. If buying a new build in 2023 I would recommend 7600 and 6950XT, thats a great combo and it gets you into the latest platform AM5

I love how you don't just go with one piece of hardware specifically, always have been fond of that. I continue to hold a smouldering rage for nVidia's prices personally, I'm to the point that I won't recommend them to clients at all unless they need CUDA for something specifically.
Much appreciated--you gotta choose wisely :) And thanks for the support!
Yeah, I wish that was the case in South Africa, AMD Cards are about $50 to $100 more expensive than Nvidia, in the same performance range

@@eggkim8632 That soundbar use their own audio codec instead the one from the pc

@@unreal5143 I’ve heard that the audio codec also contributes to sound quality through usb devices

Does that mobo have coil wine?

Great Video Jason 👍 I didn't think the 7600 was all that fast, but it turned out to pack a punch for a 6 core non X CPU. I learned quite a bit about the value proposition in a budget AM5 platform upgrade today, so thanks! I often look for overpriced motherboards just because the i/o is so much better on the $250-$300 AM5 Mobos, but I realized that you can just get PCIE add in cards for USB4 or USB C 3.2 2x2 if you need those ports.

I followed most of your guidance and in March 2023 i built 7600x with RX 6800 for 1440p, with the intention of going 7900 xtx or better later on. but for now, I'm happy with its performance.

@@PCBuilderChannel is a i3 13100f with rx 7600 good?
This was really good. Jason has amazing timing as he always does
Thank you! Glad it was great timing, we try! (;
Glad to help!
Hey I would also like to know where you bought your pc parts.

Hey i am thinking of the exact same setup, could you tell me how is the performance of the build?
What ram did you buy?

I found the 7600x to be 5 euros cheaper in the store i buy at. And it comes with starfield!
You forget coller price
@@praathamchess most people will buy seperate cooler anyway and you can easily get one for less than 50€
Why are all the "premium" motherboards all so poorly rated on both Amazon, NewEgg, and MicroCenter? Scary.
Fr.... I also don't want to change mb everytime

This is the build video I've been waiting for. Great info! Would also love to see a video where you discuss power efficiency vs performance.
We need more AMD graphics card options from the current lineup. Hopefully AMD steps up their game in that regard soon.
I built my first ever PC today using this video and your beginner build guide videos, thank you for making such detailed useful videos
Congrats on your build! Show off a build pic if you like on twitter @pcbuilderjason. So glad we could help!
Super informative, and well explained. Thank you! Just about to build my own 7600 build and picked most of the recommended parts you mentioned, before I knew of this videos existence. It was an extensive research process, but glad to see that I didn't make any huge mistake at least.
Love that we could support your choices, congrats! And good luck with the build :)
Oh my, it feels like this video was made specifically for me, it answers all the questions I got in the last few weeks trying to make my build, I'm so happy!
So glad the timing is good! Best wishes on your build
Just wanted to say thanks. I learned a lot from your series of videos about what not to buy and best combos. Really gave me the confidence to finally attempt to build my own PC. Cheers.
So glad we could help!! And thank you for the feedback it means a lot
Hello what is the difference between entry level audio and the enhanced one on a Motherboard ? Do you have a Video Comparison on that? TYIA
He had it on his RYZEN 5000 motherboard guide. Basically, it depends on what headphones/speakers you use and if you use the motherboard's audio jacks or you buy an external dac or soundcard.
Edit: He also had a vid on it on intel 12th gen videos.
Excellent! Im currently saving for this build, and the video helped me confirm some concerns i had about it originally. Thanks for the help Jason!
Of course, happy to help and glad it helped with your build! Thanks for watching!
I just bought myself a new pc and realized that I bought allmost all parts you are talking about in this video. Feels good :D
AMD Ryzen 5 7600x
RTX 4070
B650 PRO RS
32gb DDR5
2TB M.2 SSD
Only missmatch is my CPU cooler since it only has 4 heatpipes. ENDORFY Fera 5 ARGB.
It is still in parts. I really hope the CPU cooler is good enough.
I have a question can i use a ryzen 5 5600x with the gigabyte b450m k motherboard?
You can but NOT recommended at all. At least get a B550 board with 4 ram slots.
Or G.Skill Flare / Ripjaws for $170
Yes it is about twice the price you can get a 32gb kit for but of course they are it is twice the ram it should be.
This is 1300€ build what do you think ?
i5 12600k + rx6700xt + asus tuf gaming z690 d4 + corsair vengeance 2x8gb 3200 + P3 crucial ssd 2TB + Be Quiet Pure Power 12M 750w + Lian Li Lancool 215
Your videos helped me so much with picking parts.. Thank you 💚
Glad we could help! Congrats on your new rig (:
Some notes:
x570 boards seem to struggle with XMP enabled (particularly 3200 and above), mine is like that and it randomly resets the BIOS every few months. I just gave up and am running at stock RAM speeds to see if it resets again.
Ryzen 7xxx series seems to struggle with 6000mhz and above RAM speeds, so it's best to keep below that.
With a updated bios, r5 7600x enabling expo, shouldn't i have any problems with the soc valtage, right?
would you recommend the Asus TUF GAMING A620M-PLUS WIFI Micro ATX AM5 Motherboard? or should i choose a different one
What would be the number 1 reason to build on AM5 instead of LGA1700?
IMO, Gaming focused builds are for AM5 and gaming and productivity for intel. Depends on price that is.
On my ryzen 9 5900x, waiting for the next gen to upgrade to am5. 🤤
So glad it was helpful!!
great video looking at a very similar build at the moment so you have given me some things to weight up.
What mini-itx motherboard, case and cooler would you recommend, considering the CPU being a 7600 paired with a rtx 4070ti?
Thanks a lot for this. I was having trouble picking between the different CPU options, but this sold me that the 7600 is indeed a very good choice. Now I just have to navigate the crazy motherboard market...
I’m building it and I used your links and liked your video. Parts will be here in 2 days. Very excited. Will be getting an rtx 4070
Awesome! Best wishes on your build and so glad we could help! Show off a build pic when you are done if you like on twitter/threads @pcbuilderjason
Can you do a non-gaming build please? One for office productivity for heavy software and browser tab usage.
Check out our i5 13600K build in our Build Playlist. Great for heavier multi-threaded workflows.
Is this combo best ryzen5 7600
Motherboard msi 650m pro wifi
Gpu rtx 4070 12gb
16gb ram
Which cooler i should use just need to cool very much
I just upgraded for:
- 7600
- B650M Mortar Wifi
- 2x16 XPG Lancer 6000Mhz(36-36-36-76)
- Thermalright SI-100
It took me 9 years to upgrade, I'm very satisfied!
So how IT is ? What is your gpu
this was what i was looking for, after comparing the equivalent prices over here.
most sensible build in terms of price/performance/watts, at least in my region.
for whatever reason intel over here has quite the up-price compared to amd. the 13600KF is 305 bucks compared to 225 bucks for the 7600.
those 80 bucks would be a dark rock PRO 4 cooler for me...that is a pretty darn good cooler...
I just bought the 7600 paired with a 7800xt I’m so excited for the parts to arrive.
Very exciting! Thanks for watching!
Msi b650m gaming plus wifi.
is it best? if we compare than the those in the video ?
For the motherboard can I get a micro ATX one? Would it cause any problems?
I HAVE A SERIOUS QUESTION.........
Does 7600x support 8k pooling.
My build depends on it.
I actually don't know! I am not an expert in gaming mice and keyboards. Sorry!
Hey man love this build, with the B650m DS3H motherboard does it come with built in wifi or will I need to get a wifi adapter?
Hi. Thank you for your recommendations for a Ryzen 7600 build however I do have one question, is there a non-modular power supply that you can recommend for the build?
This was the most educational video in pc building, thank you. I'm starting to build a pc for my kids. It's been 20 years since a build one 😂.
Thank you, much appreciated! Love to hear it, you got this :)
Looking at doing a new build in the next couple of weeks.
can the ASRock B650M-HDV/M.2 handle 7800x3d ?
Thoughts on the ID-Cooling AIOs? They're super cheap, but that worries me. Thought about getting the ID-Cooling Frostflow, but I'd rather spend more money if it's not a great product.
They are surprisingly pretty worthy. Iirc they actually have a decent warranty too.
Is this assembly good and what is the appropriate processor for it / ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING WIFI II / G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16GB DDR4 K2 16GTZR RAM multicoloured illumination / be quiet! Straight Power 11 Platinum 750 Watt / What is the suitable graphics card for it, from NVIDIA and from AMD? Thank you
I'm interested in getting a cube case, do you have any recommendations Jason?
Thanks for this. I got the gigabyte 650m d3sh, and a 7900xt. Waiting for Amazon prime day to possibly finish the rest.❤
I went with the ak500, the MSI PRO B650-P moab, rtx 4070 ti, and the lian Li lancool 216! Everything else is the same I just picked white colors for the build. Looking forward to building this asap! Thank you
Good luck with the build! Glad we could help :))
I just got a 4070 what 7000 series would you recommend
Excellent video! The only aspect that left me uncertain was the selection of RAM. Given our better understanding of DDR5 RAM and its performance nowadays, which DDR5 RAM and motherboard would be optimal for pairing with the Ryzen 7600 and RTX 3070?
Check out our latest Best Builds March video! We actually have a current sample 7600 build for you there
@@PCBuilderChannel Thanks a lot
Thank you! I’m actually building a 7600x (on a thermalright peerless assassin 120) with g.skill ripjaws s5 32gb-5600 and 6700xt on an Asus b650e-f to have an upgrade path down the line. Last piece I’m trying to decide on is what case to buy the Lian li Lancool Mesh C RGB or the Antec DF800 flux (they both fit a 360mm radiator and are relatively cheaper) + I would fan swap either one.
Try LIAN LI 216. Fantastic case in general.
This content has extreme good value! Thank you very much for your work! Keep it going! 🤩
Thank you so much! Hope you keep enjoying all the new videos :D
Interesting. I'm building a new PC and going with the 7600 on a Riptide mini, 6600 because it's the cheapest card that runs 8192, and Corsair Veng 16x2 5200 CL-40.
"Ryzen 76hunnerd" once you hear it, you can't unhear it lmao. Love your videos btw
Okay, so I think I finally got my entry-level 4K gaming PC build:

PSU Seasonic G12-GC-750 750W 80.9
GPU Acer PREDATOR BIFROST Intel Arc A770 OC 16 GB 331
Total price: 1003 $ !
Should I go for it :)?
is that your personal prefference or just sponcering?
Can someone help me,
I am looking to buy 6950XT, & my main game is Rainbow Six Siege right now (for last 5 years pretty much).
@@PCBuilderChannel But everything AM5 is super costly right like MOBO, RAM?
@@KH4UF Motherboards yeah, a little bit expensive, but ram is like 10 dollars more
