Im curious about the korean music industry. Can't artists survive and produce music independent of their agencies? Is it because of the overcrowding problem?
@@AinzWoolGown Agencies in south korea (primarily the big 3, SM, JYP, and YG ent.) have a major influence on almost every media outlet and Tv provider. Because of this they can easily manipulate the media to promote their groups, but at the same time they also suppress other groups from becoming mainstream. Some bands have disbanded because of this issue. Trying to make music outside of an agency wont only be a problem when it comes to the actual music, since that stuff requires effort and resources, they also have to deal with the promotional aspect ,since people can’t hear your music ,if they dont even know who you are.

This 'visual' aspect of Korean music industry is preventing an ed Sheeran, an Adele, a Sia from emerging. I know there are Koreans who appreciate artists for this, but loke you said they don't represent the narrative of the Korean music industry.
Probably the most underrated female singer of SK. First it's all because of company. Second her songs. Btw, Parl Hye Kyung (sweet & crispy) and the vocalist of Cherry Filter (powerful rocky), they are also underrated.
Unfortunately, great singers who cannot write their own hits, are at the mercy of their management companies, unless they have songwriters who are willing to write for them. There are many thousands of great singers out there, but very few songwriters who can reliably write hit songs, or rearrange previous ones into new hits for new singers.
Thank you Immortals Songs 2 for allowing a truly gifted singer to be back on stage again. Her facial expression at the end shows how much she misses performing. Hopefully this exposure will reboot her career and this is the right show to do it on. Mamamoo became famous because of this show. Please allow her to come back again....maybe even with her Spica members.
As always in KBS videos, the volume of the accompany orchestra is louder than the singer's vocal . I would like to admire the singer's voice rather than the band.

Actually the band sound is bit louder than the vocals in the hall itself...it makes quite uncomfortable to wholly focus on the singing ;((((
