I presented them with a super-long pipe.
While Aty carefully watches the inside of the pipe, Ui walks through it without a second thought.
It is interesting to see the difference in their personalities in one pipe.
And it would be very interesting to fill the swimming pool with a maze of pipes.

Aty: A little boy otter who came to our house at the age of 9 months.
At first he couldn't even swim in the river, but now he loves the river more than anything else and swims in it all year round.
Whenever we go out, he always walks ahead of everyone, so he has come to be called “Captain Aty”.
Ui: A tomboy with comical movements.
Because of her ferocious nature, she had to go from one owner to another.
At first, she was so ferocious that Aty was too frightened to even touch her.
But Ui opened up to us and now she and Aty make out every day.
Aty and Ui have been issued a certificate of registration as an internationally rare wild animal and plant species.
Although Ui may appear calm today, she used to be so ferocious that people could not approach her.
After more than a year of being bitten, she finally came to live with us.
Otters are very intelligent and watch the people around them very carefully.
They will never open their hearts to you if you only have a superficial relationship with them.
They are also very active animals and require several hours of exercise per day.
They need to be walked outside or swam in the river for two to three hours every day.
The amount of exercise they get inside the house will never be enough to satisfy their needs.
Please do your research on otters before you think that “I want to keep one."
You need to think carefully about whether you can face them with your life.

Ui and Aty's response to seeing the smaller miniature version of the tubing was so hilarious to watch as they made the obvious association between the big ones and this tiny one. Ui loved it as her own personal toy too. So adorable. Their expressions though... that is what I shall remember most! Too funny.

You make everyday such fun for our beloved otter couple! Ui is such a Boss! I love she just goes for it! Atys cautioned approach is sweet and could really serve to protect him in the wild! But thankfully they don’t ever have to worry about those things with you! Great idea! Cheers
Well that escalated quickly...how did I just *know* that she was gonna give him a shove?! And I love the way they assume that when a package arrives it's for them. Now that they're getting used to it I think that this will be an amazing addition to their watery wonderland--bravo!

It is good to see what you are all doing these days. That was smart to keep the water level low enough to have oxygen air areas in the tubes to breath from; very good. *(it looks like Ui's Scent Sac needs relieving?) I was glad the grey tubes were unloosened as I was afraid they might panic and not be able to get out with ease until they got comfortable with it.
Yes, Us too... we had a similar reaction while watching them adjust and learn the tubes. Yep.
I wonder if these tubes come in twice as wide a form? I would really prefer to see them try that size too.

Well, they _sort of_ liked the pipe… but 2 meters (6’7” in old English measure) is pretty long and they seemed intimidated, so maybe it _should_ be cut down to size a bit… They may like it even more! 😁

I love her warble chirps because they sound like high-pitched dooks, sometimes exactly like dooks. Ui is a ferret in an otter's body and nothing can convince me of the contrary 😂😂😂😂
Hi has two sounds, her angry squeal when she sees someone she doesn’t like, her warble chirp, or her cute little “miiiiiii” when begging for food.
I agree, a pipe that long makes me worried, especially when it's slippery inside.

I think that the reason they’re (especially the captain) wary of the pipe is because it’s too small and long and they are afraid of being stuck in it.
I’d play a sidescroller where Aty and Ui swim in rivers and through tubes to collect sweet fish

I think they would have as much fun in the tubes on land as in the water. And it would remove the danger 😰😓
Can't help but think of underwater cave diving and of how unspeakably dangerous it is 😢
Fortunately Otterman thought about that -- if they can't get stuck in the pipe then there is no danger… You'll notice he kept the water level low so they'd always be able to breathe (river otters can hold their breath for over 5 minutes but they can also panic if triggered so better safe than sorry)
@@Soufriere84 I agree with Soufriere84 that it is not as worry some as it first appeared. And also it does seem to be about 2 inches of room around the widest parts of their bodies. I think it is going to be alright LolTollhurst *(I was concerned too at first as well). They would not use it either if they at all felt a danger after trying it out cautiously as they did. As long as the water level stays at the lower level that it is at right now it looks alright, but I do understand how it is always best to keep safety in mind.

They are not stupid and working out whether they can come up for air in the tube length. Maybe if you cut circular holes in the roof of the pipe , Taney know they have an escape hatch…and you have peace of mind.

That looks dangerous. They seem to be just small enough to fit. If they gain a bit of weight or carry in a big toy, they might get stuck. Might be a good idea to keep one of the double exit pipes at the end so it cannot be pushed against a wall and trap them in there on one end while the other otter tries to go in after them. Fun video, but that does look dangerous.

Ohhh... it's a very long stretch of pipe! What if they accidentally get stuck, for e.g. if they try to turn around while still in the middle of the tube? Isn't there a risk that they may drown?
