Every time I see Charlotte all I can think about is how her gentle and sweet nature could have been corrupted and destroyed in a kill pen. I can’t imagine what she saw while there and what she may have endured and yet she is so sweet and just wants to be loved and to give love. I could cry thinking about it. It’s a true testament to her character and her strength that she was so shy and nervous when she arrived but she didn’t let it permanently damage her heart. I think she’s so special and beautiful!
Agree ❤ she was so tense when she arrived. Such a sweet and sensitive mare , it could have ended so terrible. She has decompressed already, and letting her joy of life shine
@@jennifersnell3488 yes! My husband rescued a Pit Bull puppy that was used a fight bait them dumped on the streets. She was my first agility dog after a lifetime of showing horses. Super sweet dog, not a mean bone in her body. She changed a lot of minds about Pit Bulls. We had her for 16 years.
A buckskin roan would be awesome. A palomino roan would be so unique and it is possible since Sophie is not homozygous based! Adding the fact that Waylon is chestnut based makes the possibility of a palomino higher. Palomino is the diluted gene from chestnuts. Also Buckskin is the diluted genes of bays. I’ve always had a soft spot for buckskins because of the animated movie Spirit.
@@TheZenyaNova those are interesting facts. While I have several horse people in my family I was never afforded much opportunities to learn from them. Although I did spend a summer when I was 13 at a national show horse boarding stable. I when to a couple county shows and one state fair but I just ran tack and helped situate the horses when they were done showing. My dad was a stable hand and learning to assist with training as well as the truck driver. My favorites were Morgan’s. I have an aunt that has had horses for at least 45 years they do mostly trail rides but are 4 generations of Rodeo Queens. And then her sister either owned stables or managed stables for race horses and if rumors are correct was involved with the stables where Seattle Slew raced out of. And that’s about all I know of horses. Lol
As soon as the barn remodel is complete…more, more, more! Sophie is wonderfully tall, Charlotte not far behind, you’re going to have some tall foals! Super super cool!
I just LOVE the way you light up with pride when telling us all about your mares!! (Well, animals in general). You just treat them all so well, and love each amd every one of them. I love your channel !!
Awww, such a pretty little name pick, Charlotte!!❤❤❤❤❤ So sweet!! Love that for her. Now she gets a new life, a much better one, no doubt thanks your ultimate compassion and your love of these beautiful gorgeous babies, God decided to bless you and bless other people with too!! Yay!!❤❤❤❤❤
Between Charlotte and Sophie, I am so in love with both of them. They are just beautiful. Phoebe is also beautiful, but I have a soft side for the lighter colored horses
Hi Katie from Melbourne, Australia - I think you have chosen well with this gorgeous buckskin mare - she seems relaxed and awesome - best of happy times and luck with her - please take good care of YOU too please (okay) - love your channel - may the good times roll on...
Sophie and Charlotte are gorgeous! 😍 Katie, don't make promises you can't keep❤️❤️❤️🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 and I love that you keep buying animals! I get to live vicariously through you. I used to be a reiner, a car accident changed that. I now have/train Malinios and will eventually breed them. We have 1 male and 1 female, but we are waiting to trial the male before breeding.
@kelliemorris3537 I was just LITERALLY going thru the comments because if SOMEONE hadn't ALREADY SAID THAT I was 100% going to and like you, I'm 100% hear for it!!!!!!!
All your horses seem like sweethearts. Maybe some nervous quirks and some sass to each other at times, but in general they seem like they're big ol loves.
🎉 so excited for future Sophie foals , such a stunning mare ! Wishing you much successful collection and transfer future babies !! An excellent addition to your breeding mares
Love your videos. Watching from concrete city in Southern California. I’ve learned so much watching the past 6 months. Praying that I can move to the country one day. Thanks again!
I was so anxious for any update on Charlotte. (Don't know why I was so fascinated to see her again.) Anyway, thanks for responding to our questions and giving us a look at the horses you introduced and re-introduced on this video.
I love the buckskin/palomino color horses and I’m tall, so I’m partial to the giant horses. So your new girl is probably my new favorite. I also have a leaning towards jumpers, so there’s that, too.
great update, all the mares look fantastic and am looking forward to their continued progress. The buckskin mare is really beautiful, and Charlotte is looking so much better with the additional weight she has gained, another beautiful mare, you have a good eye for horses.
Hi again KATIE Sophie is a super find and Charlotte is soo sweet. Thinking no more room for now is a good thing as you've got babies coming next year too. All is good... Soo enjoy your updates. Catcha again.
Very new to following you , but I’m so impressed! Also got to say, we used to breed and show Appaloosa horses ( a hundred years ago lol) , and this whole embryo/ recep thing is all new to me lol ! WOW has breeding come a long way ! And that you can also sex them! Amazing ! Have always loved a good buckskin ( and had always wanted to breed one to our black/white stallion). It never happened. You should have a gorgeous foal with your stallion! So enjoying reliving the old days with your videos and posts! ❤
They are so sweet and gorgeous, I had a poa and his mom was white with a brown face and black tail and his dad was a gorgeous red with white stockings standbred and he was a mini version of his dad
Flaxen liver chestnut is my favorite coat color, but there's something about a buckskin horse that is just super pretty! And of course Charlotte as well, the grays, and I think I see some dappling on her! I think you can hold out on getting another horse for the rest of the year, but might find yourself with, idk, maybe a duck?
Sophie is beautiful! She is a beautiful buckskin, yes, you do need color In your ranch besides debate colors. Maybe you get a little palomino down the road ? You got such beautiful horses. I always watch you talk about your horses about shows. I Admire you for what you do and for what you explain about your horses and how you treat them. I I always watch you when you have a video about them, Because apparently it helps a lot of young people out there that wanna have horses.
❤i love Charlotte!! Just curious, if a horse doesn't work out as a recip what will you do with her? Can she be ridden? I love her!! She looks like a horse I had when I was younger, LadyAnn. Miss her
Katie, you may need to do some more indepth breeding stuff with all these beautiful horses. I am glad your getting such sweet horses, but I can't keep up with all of them!
Thank you. I kept asking about Charlotte. Also really good intro to the others. At this point it makes so much sense to get a few embryos per year from Trudy & Beyonce and "save" the two of them the wear and tear (stretching of uterus) of carrying themselves. More recips is something I have been thinking would be a good fit for you, if you ever had the idea to do that. I support that idea all the way, no matter what negative people might say.

The same can be said with dogs who were used for fighting some of them are the sweetest souls.

I love how you love the horses and
Save them from slaughter !!!!💖💖💖
Welcome Charlotte ,we love those rescues so beautiful!
"It's only July." Best. Cameraman. Comment. Ever.
LOL
😂 Hee hee!
“I’m already a little attached I’m not going to lie” we know Katie, we know 🤣🤣🤣. Welcome to the best life at RS! 🤣
The colorings of Sophie and VS Code Red on top of how tall they both are would no doubt be beautiful.

True, they would be a good cross. Only thing is Code Red is not exceptionally tall, so Sophie is actually taller than him.
I would love to see Sophie crossed with Full Medal Jacket (Wallys sire)
@@SheryKnight Wally and Weezy I believe
As soon as the barn remodel is complete…more, more, more! Sophie is wonderfully tall, Charlotte not far behind, you’re going to have some tall foals! Super super cool!
I think Katie is going to use her for embryo transfer, so her height won't affect the foal, because they aren't related.❤
@@caroldavis5877 Sophie will be used for her own foals but Charlotte is a recip.
I love the buckskin, not just because of her color but she's majestically magical!❤❤❤❤
I just LOVE the way you light up with pride when telling us all about your mares!! (Well, animals in general). You just treat them all so well, and love each amd every one of them. I love your channel !!
God bless you and your husband Jonathan.
God bless your awesome amazing dream team, Miss. Katie Van Slyke
Every time I hear you say that another horse finds you as a savior. Don't stop helping
You can really tell that Katie loves all her four-legged friends! ❤
You truly are doing angel work no telling what Charlotte has seen and been put through and now she gets to live her best life!
She's beautiful Katie ❤❤
Awww, such a pretty little name pick, Charlotte!!❤❤❤❤❤
So sweet!! Love that for her.
Now she gets a new life, a much better one, no doubt thanks your ultimate compassion and your love of these beautiful gorgeous babies, God decided to bless you and bless other people with too!! Yay!!❤❤❤❤❤
All three of the new babies are beautiful. They seem to have great personalities already. And we all know you're gonna keep Phoebe ❤❤
Sophie is absolutely stunning!! Her size is nice, as is her build and confirmation❤️ I can't wait to see what she throws for you guys next year!!
Between Charlotte and Sophie, I am so in love with both of them. They are just beautiful. Phoebe is also beautiful, but I have a soft side for the lighter colored horses
Light with darker skin are by far my favorite! I don’t care for the pink skin/eyes on most white animals.
All 3 of them are gorgeous ❤
You have such amazing color range with your mares and stallions. They make me drool.

Sophie is beautiful and Phoebe is a doll, congratulations
You have the biggest best heart! A horse is in trouble and you immediately want to help.🥰🥰😃
I love her Katie ❤ . My stallion was a buckskin I bred and raised and trained him myself. I had his mom for 23 years
They are all very beautiful. I love watching all of your video's. Love all of your animals. Thank you for sharing them with the world. ❤
